< Psalms 37 >

1 Of David. Be not kindled to wrath at the wicked, nor envious of those who work wrong;
Dawid dwom. Nhaw wo ho, nnebɔneyɛfo nti; mma wʼani mmmere wɔn a wɔyɛ bɔne;
2 for, like grass, they will speedily wither, and fade like the green of young grass.
Wɔte sɛ sare, ɛrenkyɛ na ahyew, wɔte sɛ dua amono, ɛrenkyɛ na awu.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; remain in the land, and deal faithfully:
Fa wo ho to Awurade so na yɛ papa. Tena asase no so na ma wʼani nka asomdwoe adidibea hɔ.
4 then the Lord will be your delight, he will grant you your heart’s petitions.
Ma wʼani nnye wɔ Awurade mu na wama wo nea wo koma pɛ.
5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act,
Fa wʼakwan hyɛ Awurade nsam; na fa wo ho to no so, na ɔno na ɔbɛyɛ:
6 making clear as the light your right, and your just cause clear as the noon-day.
ɔbɛma wo treneeyɛ ahyerɛn sɛ adekyee, na wʼatɛntrenee ayɛ sɛ owigyinae.
7 In silence and patience wait on the Lord. Be not kindled to anger at those who prosper. At those who execute evil devices.
Yɛ komm wɔ Awurade anim na tɔ wo bo ase twɛn no, nhaw wo ho wɔ wɔn a asi wɔn yiye ho efisɛ wɔnam bɔne akwan so.
8 Desist from anger, abandon wrath: be not kindled to anger it leads but to evil:
Mma wo bo mmfuw na gyae abufuwhyew; nhaw wo ho, ekowie bɔne nko ara.
9 for evildoers will be cut off, but the land will be theirs, who wait on the Lord.
Wobetwa nnebɔneyɛfo agu, nanso wɔn a wɔn ani da Awurade so no wobenya asase no adi so.
10 Yet but a little, and the wicked vanish: look at their place: they are there no more.
Ɛrenkyɛ, nnebɔneyɛfo bɛyera. Wɔbɛhwehwɛ wɔn, nanso wɔrenhu wɔn.
11 But the humble will have the land, and the rapture of peace in abundance.
Nanso ahobrɛasefo benya asase no adi so na wɔanya asomdwoe mmoroso.
12 The wicked plots against the righteous, snarls like a wild animal;
Amumɔyɛfo bɔ pɔw bɔne tia atreneefo na wɔtwɛre wɔn se gu wɔn so;
13 the Lord laughs, for he sees that his day is coming.
nanso Awurade serew amumɔyɛfo, na onim sɛ wɔn nna abɛn.
14 The wicked have drawn the sword, and bent the bow, to fell the poor, to slay those who walk uprightly;
Amumɔyɛfo twe afoa na wokuntun wɔn ta mu sɛ wobekum ahiafo ne mmɔborɔfo, sɛ wobekum wɔn a wɔn akwan teɛ.
15 but their sword will pierce their own heart, and their bows will be broken in pieces.
Nanso wɔn afoa bɛwowɔ wɔn ankasa koma mu, na wɔn ta mu abubu.
16 Better is the righteous person’s little than the wealth of many wicked.
Kakra a atreneefo wɔ no som bo sen amumɔyɛfo bebree ahonya;
17 For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.
efisɛ amumɔyɛfo ahoɔden bɛsa nanso Awurade bɛwowaw atreneefo.
18 The Lord watches over the days of the blameless, their heritage will continue forever.
Awurade nim wɔn a wɔn ho nni asɛm no nna, na wɔn agyapade bɛtena hɔ daa.
19 They will not be shamed in the evil time, in the days of famine they will be satisfied.
Ahohiahia bere mu wɔremmrɛ. Ɔkɔm bere mu wobenya ama abu so.
20 Because the wicked will perish: but the foes of the Lord, like a brand in the oven, will vanish, like smoke they will vanish.
Nanso amumɔyɛfo bɛyera. Awurade atamfo bɛyɛ sɛ nwura mu nhwiren; wobetu ayera sɛ wusiw.
21 The wicked must borrow and cannot pay back, but the righteous is lavish and gives.
Amumɔyɛfo pɛ bosea, na wontua, nanso ɔtreneeni de ahummɔbɔ ma;
22 For those blest by the Lord inherit the land, while those whom he curses will be cut off.
Wɔn a Awurade ahyira wɔn no benya asase no adi so, na wobetwa wɔn a ɔdome wɔn no agu.
23 The Lord supports the steps of those with whom he is pleased.
Sɛ Awurade ani sɔ onipa akwan a, ɔma nʼanammɔntu si pi.
24 Though they fall, they will not be cast headlong, for the Lord holds their hands.
Sɛ ohintiw a ɔrenhwe ase, efisɛ Awurade kura no wɔ ne nsam.
25 Never, from youth to age, have I seen the righteous forsaken, or their children begging bread.
Na meyɛ aberante, na mprempren mabɔ akwakoraa, na minhuu ɔtreneeni a Awurade apa nʼakyi anaasɛ ne mma resrɛ aduan.
26 They are ever lavishly lending, and their children are fountains of blessing.
Bere biara ɔyɛ adɔe, na ɔde fɛm kwa; na ne mma benya nhyira.
27 Turn away from evil and do good and you will live in the land forever.
Twe wo ho fi bɔne ho na yɛ papa na wobɛtena asase no so afebɔɔ.
28 For the Lord loves justice, he does not forsake his friends. The unrighteous will be destroyed forever, and the seed of the wicked will be cut off.
Efisɛ, Awurade pɛ nea ɛteɛ, na ɔrennyaw ne nkurɔfo anokwafo no. Wobenya bammɔ daa nyinaa. Nanso amumɔyɛfo asefo de, wobetwa wɔn agu.
29 But the land will belong to the righteous, they will live upon it forever,
Atreneefo benya asase no adi so na wɔatena so afebɔɔ.
30 The mouth of the righteous murmurs wisdom, and words of justice are on their tongues.
Ɔtreneeni ano ka nyansasɛm, na ne tɛkrɛma ka nea ɛteɛ.
31 The law of their God is in their heart, their steps are never unsteady.
Ne Nyankopɔn mmara wɔ ne koma mu; wɔn anan nwatiri.
32 The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to put them to death.
Amumɔyɛfo tetɛw atreneefo hwehwɛ sɛ wobekum wɔn,
33 But the Lord leaves them not in their hand: at their trial they will not be held guilty.
nanso Awurade nnyaa wɔn mma wɔn, na ɔremma wommu wɔn kumfɔ wɔ asennii.
34 Wait on the Lord, and observe his way: he will lift you to honour the land will be yours, you will feast your eyes on the doom of the wicked.
Montwɛn Awurade na monhwɛ nʼakwan. Ɔbɛma mo so na moanya asase no adi so; sɛ wotwitwa amumɔyɛfo no gu a, mubehu.
35 I have seen the wicked exultant, lifting themselves like a cedar of Lebanon.
Mahu omumɔyɛfo a ɔyɛ basabasa sɛ ɔredi yiye sɛ dua amono a esi asase pa so,
36 But the moment I passed, they vanished! I sought for them, but they could not be found.
nanso ankyɛ na nʼawiei bae a wonhu no bio; mehwehwɛɛ no, nanso manhu no.
37 Preserve your honour and practise uprightness, for such a person fares well in the end.
Susuw nea ɔyɛ pɛ ho, na hwɛ nea ɔteɛ; na asomdwoe nipa benya asetena pa daakye.
38 But transgressors will perish together. Cut off are the wicked forever.
Nanso wɔbɛsɛe nnebɔneyɛfo nyinaa; na wɔbɛtɔre wɔn asefo ase.
39 The righteous are saved by the Lord, who in time of distress is their refuge:
Atreneefo nkwagye fi Awurade ɔne wɔn aban wɔ amanehunu bere mu.
40 the Lord helps and rescue them, from the wicked he rescues and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
Awurade boa wɔn na ogye wɔn; oyi wɔn fi amumɔyɛfo nsam, na ogye wɔn nkwa, efisɛ wohintaw wɔ ne mu.
