< Psalms 37 >

1 Of David. Be not kindled to wrath at the wicked, nor envious of those who work wrong;
Se yon sòm David. Pa fè kòlè lè ou wè mechan yo! Pa anvye sò moun k'ap fè mal yo!
2 for, like grass, they will speedily wither, and fade like the green of young grass.
Talè konsa, y'ap rache yo tankou raje. Yo gen pou yo fennen tankou zèb gazon.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; remain in the land, and deal faithfully:
Mete konfyans ou nan Seyè a, fè sa ki byen! Pran peyi a fè kay ou, viv ak kè poze!
4 then the Lord will be your delight, he will grant you your heart’s petitions.
Si se nan Seyè a ou pran tout plezi ou, l'a ba ou tou sa ou ta renmen.
5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act,
Renmèt kòz ou nan men Seyè a! Mete konfyans ou nan li, l'a ede ou.
6 making clear as the light your right, and your just cause clear as the noon-day.
L'a fè jistis ou parèt aklè tankou yon limyè, l'a fè rezon ou parèt aklè tankou gwo solèy midi.
7 In silence and patience wait on the Lord. Be not kindled to anger at those who prosper. At those who execute evil devices.
Rete dousman dèvan Seyè a, pran san ou. Tann li fè sa l' gen pou l' fè a. Pa fè kòlè lè ou wè moun gen zafè yo ap mache byen. lè ou wè moun reyalize tout move lide yo gen nan tèt yo.
8 Desist from anger, abandon wrath: be not kindled to anger it leads but to evil:
Pa fache, pa fè move san. Ou pa bezwen ennève! Sa kapab fè ou fè sa ki mal.
9 for evildoers will be cut off, but the land will be theirs, who wait on the Lord.
Moun ki mete konfyans yo nan Seyè a va pran peyi a pou yo. Men, y'ap disparèt mechan yo.
10 Yet but a little, and the wicked vanish: look at their place: they are there no more.
Talè konsa, p'ap gen mechan ankò. W'a chache yo, ou p'ap jwenn yo.
11 But the humble will have the land, and the rapture of peace in abundance.
Men, moun ki soumèt devan Bondye, yo pral resevwa pèyi a pou byen yo, y'a viv ak kè poze nèt ale.
12 The wicked plots against the righteous, snarls like a wild animal;
Mechan yo ap fè konplo sou moun k'ap mache dwat yo. Y'ap gade yo konsa, yo anvi devore yo.
13 the Lord laughs, for he sees that his day is coming.
Seyè a ap ri mechan an, paske li konnen mechan an pa la pou lontan.
14 The wicked have drawn the sword, and bent the bow, to fell the poor, to slay those who walk uprightly;
Mechan yo rale koulin yo, y'ap pare banza yo, pou yo touye pòv yo ak malere yo, pou ansasinen moun k'ap mache dwat yo.
15 but their sword will pierce their own heart, and their bows will be broken in pieces.
Men, se yo menm menm koulin yo pral rache. Banza yo menm ap kase nan men yo.
16 Better is the righteous person’s little than the wealth of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.
Paske, Bondye ap kraze kouraj mechan yo, men l'ap soutni moun ki mache dwat yo.
18 The Lord watches over the days of the blameless, their heritage will continue forever.
Seyè a konnen jan moun ki fè volonte l' yo ap viv. Eritaj yo la pou tout tan.
19 They will not be shamed in the evil time, in the days of famine they will be satisfied.
Yo p'ap wont lè bagay gate, y'ap jwenn tou sa yo bezwen lè grangou tonbe sou peyi a.
20 Because the wicked will perish: but the foes of the Lord, like a brand in the oven, will vanish, like smoke they will vanish.
Men mechan yo ap peri.
21 The wicked must borrow and cannot pay back, but the righteous is lavish and gives.
Mechan an prete, li pa nan renmèt. Men, moun ki mache dwat yo gen kè sansib, yo fè kado.
22 For those blest by the Lord inherit the land, while those whom he curses will be cut off.
Moun Seyè a beni va pran peyi a pou yo. Men, moun ki anba madichon Bondye gen pou disparèt sou tè a.
23 The Lord supports the steps of those with whom he is pleased.
Seyè a pran men lèzòm, li mete yo nan bon chemen. Li kontan wè yo mache dwat.
24 Though they fall, they will not be cast headlong, for the Lord holds their hands.
Si yo tonbe, yo p'ap rete atè a. Paske Seyè a ap ba yo men.
25 Never, from youth to age, have I seen the righteous forsaken, or their children begging bread.
Depi mwen timoun jouk mwen vin granmoun, mwen pa janm wè Bondye lage yon moun ki mache dwat, ni mwen pa janm wè pitit pitit li yo ap mande charite.
26 They are ever lavishly lending, and their children are fountains of blessing.
Okontrè, moun ki mache dwat l'a toujou gen kè sansib pou l' bay, pou li prete moun tou. Tout pitit pitit li yo tounen yon benediksyon pou lòt moun.
27 Turn away from evil and do good and you will live in the land forever.
Pa fè mal, fè sa ki byen. W'a toujou gen yon kote nan peyi a pou ou rete.
28 For the Lord loves justice, he does not forsake his friends. The unrighteous will be destroyed forever, and the seed of the wicked will be cut off.
L'ap toujou pwoteje yo. Men, ras mechan yo gen pou disparèt.
29 But the land will belong to the righteous, they will live upon it forever,
Moun ki mache dwat gen pou pran peyi a pou yo. Y'ap rete nan peyi a tout tan tout tan.
30 The mouth of the righteous murmurs wisdom, and words of justice are on their tongues.
31 The law of their God is in their heart, their steps are never unsteady.
Li kenbe lalwa Bondye a fèm nan kè li, li p'ap janm bite.
32 The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to put them to death.
Mechan an ap veye tout vire tounen moun k'ap mache dwat, l'ap chache jan pou l' touye l'.
33 But the Lord leaves them not in their hand: at their trial they will not be held guilty.
Men, Seyè a p'ap lage l' nan men mechan an, li p'ap kite yo kondannen l' lè y'ap jije l'.
34 Wait on the Lord, and observe his way: he will lift you to honour the land will be yours, you will feast your eyes on the doom of the wicked.
35 I have seen the wicked exultant, lifting themselves like a cedar of Lebanon.
36 But the moment I passed, they vanished! I sought for them, but they could not be found.
Apre sa, mwen tounen vin pase kote l' te ye a, li pa t' la. Mwen chache l', mwen pa janm wè l' ankò.
37 Preserve your honour and practise uprightness, for such a person fares well in the end.
Gade moun k'ap mache dwat la byen gade. Gade tout vire tounen l'. Moun ki viv byen ak tout moun ap gen pitit ak pitit pitit.
38 But transgressors will perish together. Cut off are the wicked forever.
Men, moun k'ap fè mal yo, y'ap rete konsa y'ap disparèt. Tout pitit ak pitit pitit yo ap disparèt tou.
39 The righteous are saved by the Lord, who in time of distress is their refuge:
Se Seyè a k'ap sove moun ki mache dwat yo. L'ap sèvi yo defans lè yo nan tray.
40 the Lord helps and rescue them, from the wicked he rescues and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
L'ap pote yo sekou, l'ap delivre yo.
