< Psalms 27 >

1 A psalm of David. The Lord is my light and my saviour; whom then should I fear? The Lord protects my life; whom then should I dread?
Dawid dwom. Awurade ne me hann ne me nkwagye; hena na minsuro no? Awurade ne me nkwa ahoɔden, na hena anim na me ho mpopo?
2 When the wicked drew near to assail me and eat up my flesh, it was those who distressed and opposed me who stumbled and fell.
Sɛ nnipa bɔne bɔ toa me pɛ sɛ wokum me, sɛ mʼatamfo tow hyɛ me so a, wobehintihintiw ahwehwe ase.
3 Though against me a host should encamp, yet my heart would be fearless: though battle should rise up against me, still would I be trustful.
Sɛ dɔm mpo twa me ho hyia a, me koma rentu; mpo sɛ wotu me so sa a, ɛno mu koraa na minya awerehyɛmu.
4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, and that do I long for – To live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the grace of the Lord and inquire in his temple.
Ade baako na mibisa Awurade; na ɛno na mehwehwɛ; sɛ mɛtena Awurade fi me nkwanna nyinaa, na mahwɛ Awurade ahoɔfɛ na mahwehwɛ no wɔ nʼasɔrefi.
5 For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of misfortune. In his sheltering tent he hides me: he lifts me up on a rock.
Hiada mu no, ɔde me besie nʼatenae dwoodwoo; ɔbɛkora me wɔ Ahyiae Ntamadan kronkron mu ɔde me si ɔbotan so wɔ sorosoro.
6 And now that my head he has lifted above my encircling foes, I will march round the altar and sacrifice, shouting with joy, in his tent, making music and song to the Lord.
Afei ɔbɛma me ti so wɔ atamfo a wɔatwa me ho ahyia no so; mede anigye bɛbɔ afɔre wɔ nʼAhyiae Ntamadan mu; na mɛto dwom, ahyehyɛ nnwom ama Awurade.
7 Hear, O Lord, my loud cry, and graciously answer me.
Awurade, sɛ misu frɛ wo a, tie me! Hu me mmɔbɔ na gye me so!
8 My heart has said to you, ‘Your face, O Lord, I seek.’
Me koma ka wɔ wo ho se, “Hwehwɛ nʼanim!” Wʼanim, Awurade na mɛhwehwɛ.
9 Hide not your face from me, reject not your servant in anger: for you have been my help. Abandon me not, nor forsake me, O God of my help:
Mfa wʼanim nhintaw me, mfa abufuw mpam wo somfo me boafo ne wo. Mpo me, na nnyaw me, mʼAgyenkwa Nyankopɔn.
10 for father and mother have left me; but the Lord will take me up.
Mʼagya ne me na begyaw me hɔ de, nanso Awurade begye me.
11 Teach me your way, O Lord: lead me in an even path, because of my enemies.
Kyerɛ me wʼakwan, Awurade; fa me fa ɔkwan tee so, me nhyɛsofo nti.
12 Give me not up, O Lord, unto the rage of my foes; for against me have risen false witnesses, breathing out cruelty.
Nnyaa me mma sɛnea mʼatamfo pɛ, nnansekurumfo sɔre tia me na wopuw awurukasɛm.
13 Firm is the faith I cherish, that I, in the land of the living, will yet see the goodness of God.
Meda so wɔ saa anidaso yi sɛ: mehu Awurade ayamye wɔ ateasefo asase so.
14 Let your heart be courageous and strong, and wait on the Lord.
Twɛn Awurade. Hyɛ wo ho den na ma wo bo nyɛ duru na twɛn Awurade.
