< Psalms 131 >

1 A song of ascents. Of David. O Lord, my heart is not haughty, my eyes are not lofty, I walk not among great things, things too wonderful for me.
A Song of degrees of David. LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
2 Yes, I have soothed and stilled myself, like a young child on his mother’s lap; like a young child am I.
Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul [is] even as a weaned child.
3 O Israel, hope in the Lord from now and for evermore.
Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.
