< Psalms 124 >

1 A song of ascents. Of David. ‘Had it not been the Lord who was for us’ let Israel say
[Psalm lal David] LEUM GOD El funu tia wi kut la, lukun fuka? O Israel, kowos in topuk!
2 ‘Had it not been the Lord who was for us when enemies rose against us,
“LEUM GOD El funu tia wi kut le, Ke mwet lokoalok elos mweun lain kut
3 then alive they’d have swallowed us up, when their anger was kindled against us.
Kut lukun moul na elos ukumkutla Ke sripen kasrkusrak lulap lalos sesr;
4 Then the waters would’ve swept us away, and the torrent passed over us clean:
Na sronot u pokkutla, Kof u afwinkutla,
5 then most sure would’ve passed over us clean the wild seething waters.’
A kof pulkulak akwalomyekutla.”
6 Blest be the Lord who has given us not to be torn by their teeth.
Lela kut in sang kulo nu sin LEUM GOD, Su tia filikutyang nu in poun mwet lokoalok lasr.
7 We are like a bird just escaped from the snare of the fowler. The snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Kut tu kaingla oana sie won su kaingla liki sruf lun mwet sru won; Sruf u musalla a kut sukosokla!
8 Our help is the name of the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth.
Kasru lasr tuku sin LEUM GOD, Su orala kusrao ac faclu.
