< Psalms 114 >

1 When Israel went out of Egypt, Jacob’s house from a barbarous people,
Egypt lamloh Israel, kholong ol cal pilnam lamloh Jakob imkhui ha pai vaengah;
2 God chose Judah for himself, Israel became his kingdom.
A hmuencim la Judah, a khohung la Israel a om pah.
3 The sea saw it, and fled, Jordan river ran backwards.
Tuitunli loh a hmuh vaengah rhaelrham tih, Jordan khaw a hnuk la mael.
4 Mountains skipped like rams, hills like the young of the flock.
Tlang rhoek khaw som rhoek kah tutal rhoek neh, boiva ca bangla na cungpet uh.
5 Why, sea, do you flee? Jordan, why run backwards?
Tuitunli nang te bahamnim na rhaelrham, Jordan long khaw a hnuk la na mael?
6 Mountains, why skip ram-like? Why, hills, like the young of the flock?
Tlang rhoek khaw som rhoek kah tutal rhoek neh, boiva ca bangla na cungpet uh.
7 Earth, tremble before the Lord, at the presence of Jacob’s God,
Diklai nang Boeipa mikhmuh neh, Jakob Pathen mikhmuh ah thuen lah.
8 who turns rocks into pools of water, and flint into fountains of water.
Anih loh lungpang te tuibap tui la, hmailung khaw tuisih tui la a coeng sak.
