< Psalms 102 >

1 The prayer: for a weary and suffering person who pours out their grief to the Lord. Hear my prayer, O Lord; let my cry for help come to you.
E HOOLOHE mai oe i ka'u pule, e Iehova, A e hookomo aku i ko'u kahea ana imua ou.
2 Hide not your face from me in the day of my distress. Incline your ear to me: when I call, answer me speedily.
Mai huna oe i ko'u maka ia'u, I ka la o'u e pilikia'i e haliu mai kou pepeiao; I ka la a'u e hea aku ai, e ae koke mai oe ia'u.
3 For my days pass away like smoke: my bones are burned through as with fire.
Ua hoopauia ko'u mau la me he uwahi la, Ua pau i ke ahi ko'u mau iwi me he pihaa la.
4 My heart is scorched, withered like grass; I forget to eat my bread.
Ua moku ko'u naau, a ua mae hoi me he mauu la; Nolaila, ua poina ia'u ke ai i ka'u ai.
5 By reason of my loud groaning, my flesh clings to my bones.
No ka leo o ko'u kaniuhu ana, Ua pilipu ko'u mau iwi me ko'u io.
6 Like a desert-owl of the wilderness, like an owl among ruins am I.
Ua like no au me ka pelikana o ka waonahele; Ua like no hoi au me ka pueo o ka waoakua.
7 I make my sleepless lament like a bird on the house-top alone.
Ua makaala no wau, A ua like hoi me na manuliilii noho mehameha maluna o ka hale.
8 All the day wild foes revile me, using my name for a curse.
Hoowahawaha mai ko'u poe enemi ia'u i na la a pau; O ka poe inaina mai ia'u, ua hoohiki lakou no'u.
9 For ashes have been my bread, and tears have been mixed with my cup.
Ua ai aku no au i ka lehu, e like me ka berena, A ua kawili pu au i ko'u mea inu me kuu waimaka,
10 Because of your passionate anger, you did raise me, then hurl me to the ground.
No kou huhu, a me kou inaina; No ka mea, ua hapai mai oe ia'u iluna, A ua ulupa mai oe ia'u ilalo,
11 My days come to an end, shadows lengthen, I wither like grass.
Ua auwi ae ko'u mau la, me he aka la; A ua mae hoi au me he mauu la.
12 But you, O Lord, are enthroned forever, your fame endures to all generations.
Aka, e mau loa ana no kou noho ana, e Iehova, A me kou hoomanao ana hoi, ia hanauna aku ia hanauna aku.
13 You will arise and have pity on Zion; it’s time to be gracious; her hour has come.
E ku mai auanei oe, a e aloha mai ia Ziona; No ka mea, o ka manawa e aloha'i, Ua hiki mai no ia manawa i oleloia.
14 For even her stones are dear to your servants, even the dust of her ruins they look on with love.
Ua lealea kau poe kauwa ma kona mau pohaku, A ua aloha hoi i kona lepo.
15 Then the nations will revere the name of the Lord and all the kings of the earth his glory,
E makau aku no ko na aina e i ka inoa o Iehova, A me na'lii a pau o ka honua i kou nani.
16 when the Lord shall have built up Zion, and revealed himself in his glory,
I ka wa e hooku ai o Iehova ia Ziona, Alaila, e ikeia'ku no oia maloko o kona nani.
17 in response to the prayer of the destitute, whose prayer he will not despise.
E haliu mai no oia i ka pule a ka poe nele, Aole ia e hoowahawaha i ka lakou pule ana.
18 Let this be recorded for ages to come, that the Lord may be praised by a people yet unborn.
E kakauia no keia no na hanauna o keia hope aku; I halelu aku ia Iehova ka poe kanaka e hanau mai la.
19 For he shall look down from his holy height, from the heavens the Lord will gaze on the earth,
No ka mea, ua nana mai no oia, mai luna mai o kona wahi hoano; Mai ka lani mai hoi i nana mai o Iehova i ka honua;
20 to hear the groans of the prisoner, to free those who are doomed to die;
E hoolohe mai i ke kaniuhu ana o ka poe pio; A e hookuu hoi i na keiki o ka make:
21 that people may recount the Lord’s fame in Zion, and the praise of him in Jerusalem,
E hoike hoi ma Ziona, i ka inoa o Iehova, A me kona mau halelu hoi ma Ierusalema;
22 when the nations are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to worship the Lord.
I ka wa e akoakoa pu ai na kanaka, A me na aupuni hoi, e hookauwa aku na Iehova.
23 He has broken my strength on the way, he has shortened my days.
Ua hoonawaliwali mai oia i ko'u ikaika ma ke ala; Ua hoopokole mai hoi i ko'u mau la.
24 I will say, ‘My God, take me not hence in the midst of my days. ‘Your years endure age after age.
I iho la au. E kuu Akua e, Mai lawe aku ia'u maiwaena konu o ko'u mau la: Mai kela hanauna kou makahiki, a ia hanauna aku.
25 Of old you have founded the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
I ka wa kahiko hookumu no oe i ka honua; A o ka lani hoi ka hana a kou mau lima.
26 They shall perish; but you do stand. They shall all wax old like a garment, and change as a robe you will change them.
E pau auanei lakou, aka, e mau loa ana no oe; E elemakule no lakou me he kapa la; Aka, e hoomalule no oe ia lakou me he kapa hou la.
27 But you are the same, your years are endless.
Aka, ua oia mau no oe pela, Aole loa e pau kou mau makahiki.
28 The children of your servants abide, evermore shall their seed be before you.’
E mau ana no hoi na keiki o kau poe kauwa, A e hoonoho paa loa ia ka lakou poe mamo imua ou.
