Matthew 6
1 ‘Take care not to perform your religious duties in public in order to be seen by others; if you do, your Father who is in heaven has no reward for you.
| «زنهار عدالت خود را پیش مردم به‌جامیاورید تا شما را ببینند و الا نزد پدر خودکه در آسمان است، اجری ندارید. | ۱ |
2 Therefore, when you do acts of charity, do not have a trumpet blown in front of you, as hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets so that people will praise them. There, I tell you, is their reward!
| پس چون صدقه دهی، پیش خود کرنا منواز چنانکه ریاکاران در کنایس و بازارها می‌کنند، تا نزد مردم اکرام یابند. هرآینه به شما می‌گویم اجر خود رایافته‌اند. | ۲ |
3 But, when you do acts of charity, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
| بلکه تو چون صدقه دهی، دست چپ تو از آنچه دست راستت می‌کند مطلع نشود، | ۳ |
4 so that your charity may be secret; and your Father, who sees what is in secret, will reward you.
| تاصدقه تو در نهان باشد و پدر نهان بین تو، تو راآشکارا اجر خواهد داد. | ۴ |
5 ‘And, when you pray, you are not to behave as hypocrites do. They like to pray standing in the synagogues and at the corners of the streets, so that people will see them. There, I tell you, is their reward!
| «و چون عبادت کنی، مانند ریاکاران مباش زیرا خوش دارند که در کنایس و گوشه های کوچه‌ها ایستاده، نماز گذارند تا مردم ایشان راببینند. هرآینه به شما می‌گویم اجر خود راتحصیل نموده‌اند. | ۵ |
6 But, when one of you prays, they should go into their own room, shut the door, and pray to their Father who dwells in secret; and their Father, who sees what is secret, will reward them.
| لیکن تو چون عبادت کنی، به حجره خود داخل شو و در را بسته، پدر خود راکه در نهان است عبادت نما؛ و پدر نهان بین تو، تو را آشکارا جزا خواهد داد. | ۶ |
7 When praying, do not repeat the same words over and over again, as is done by the Gentiles, who think that by using many words they will obtain a hearing.
| و چون عبادت کنید، مانند امت‌ها تکرار باطل مکنید زیرا ایشان گمان می‌برند که به‌سبب زیاد گفتن مستجاب می‌شوند. | ۷ |
8 Do not imitate them; for God, your Father, knows what you need before you ask him.
| پس مثل ایشان مباشید زیرا که پدر شماحاجات شما را می‌داند پیش از آنکه از او سوال کنید. | ۸ |
9 You, therefore, should pray like this – “Our Father, who is in heaven, may your name be held holy,
| «پس شما به اینطور دعا کنید: “ای پدر ما که در آسمانی، نام تو مقدس باد. | ۹ |
10 your kingdom come, your will be done – on earth, as in heaven.
| ملکوت تو بیاید. اراده تو چنانکه در آسمان است، بر زمین نیز کرده شود. | ۱۰ |
11 Give us today the bread that we will need;
| نان کفاف ما را امروز به ما بده. | ۱۱ |
12 and forgive us our wrongdoings, as we have forgiven those who have wronged us;
| و قرض های ما را ببخش چنانکه ما نیزقرضداران خود را می‌بخشیم. | ۱۲ |
13 and take us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
| و ما را در آزمایش میاور، بلکه از شریر ما رارهایی ده. | ۱۳ |
14 For, if you forgive others their offences, your heavenly Father will forgive you also;
| «زیرا هرگاه تقصیرات مردم را بدیشان بیامرزید، پدر آسمانی شما، شما را نیز خواهدآمرزید. | ۱۴ |
15 but, if you do not forgive others their offences, not even your Father will forgive your offences.
| اما اگر تقصیرهای مردم را نیامرزید، پدر شما هم تقصیرهای شما را نخواهد آمرزید. | ۱۵ |
16 ‘And, when you fast, do not put on gloomy looks, as hypocrites do who disfigure their faces so that they may be seen by people to be fasting. That, I tell you, is their reward!
| «اما چون روزه‌دارید، مانند ریاکاران ترشرو مباشید زیرا که صورت خویش را تغییرمی دهند تا در نظر مردم روزه‌دار نمایند. هرآینه به شما می‌گویم اجر خود را یافته‌اند. | ۱۶ |
17 But, when one of you fasts, they should anoint their head and wash their face,
| لیکن توچون روزه‌داری، سر خود را تدهین کن و روی خود را بشوی | ۱۷ |
18 so that they may not be seen by people to be fasting, but by their Father who dwells in secret; and their Father, who sees what is secret, will reward them.
| تا در نظر مردم روزه‌دار ننمایی، بلکه در حضور پدرت که در نهان است؛ و پدر نهان بین تو، تو را آشکارا جزا خواهد داد. | ۱۸ |
19 ‘Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
| «گنجها برای خود بر زمین نیندوزید، جایی که بید و زنگ زیان می‌رساند و جایی که دزدان نقب می‌زنند و دزدی می‌نمایند. | ۱۹ |
20 But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal.
| بلکه گنجهابجهت خود در آسمان بیندوزید، جایی که بید وزنگ زیان نمی رساند و جایی که دزدان نقب نمی زنند و دزدی نمی کنند. | ۲۰ |
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
| زیرا هرجا گنج تواست دل تو نیز در آنجا خواهد بود. | ۲۱ |
22 The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is unclouded, your whole body will be lit up;
| «چراغ بدن چشم است؛ پس هرگاه چشمت بسیط باشد تمام بدنت روشن بود؛ | ۲۲ |
23 but, if your eye is diseased, your whole body will be darkened. And, if the inner light is darkness, how intense must that darkness be!
| امااگر چشم تو فاسد است، تمام جسدت تاریک می‌باشد. پس اگر نوری که در تو است ظلمت باشد، چه ظلمت عظیمی است! | ۲۳ |
24 No one can serve two masters, for either they will hate one and love the other, or else they will attach themselves to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
| «هیچ‌کس دو آقا را خدمت نمی تواند کرد، زیرا یا از یکی نفرت دارد و با دیگری محبت، و یابه یکی می‌چسبد و دیگر را حقیر می‌شمارد. محال است که خدا و ممونا را خدمت کنید. | ۲۴ |
25 ‘This is why I say to you, Do not be anxious about your life – what you can get to eat or drink, or about your body – what you can get to wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
| «بنابراین به شما می‌گویم، از بهر جان خوداندیشه مکنید که چه خورید یا چه آشامید و نه برای بدن خود که چه بپوشید. آیا جان، از خوراک و بدن از پوشاک بهتر نیست؟ | ۲۵ |
26 Look at the wild birds – they neither sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns; and yet your heavenly Father feeds them! Aren’t you more precious than they?
| مرغان هوا را نظرکنید که نه می‌کارند و نه می‌دروند و نه در انبارهاذخیره می‌کنند و پدر آسمانی شما آنها رامی پروراند. آیا شما از آنها بمراتب بهتر نیستید؟ | ۲۶ |
27 But which of you, by being anxious, can prolong their life a single moment?
| و کیست از شما که به تفکر بتواند ذراعی برقامت خود افزاید؟ | ۲۷ |
28 And why be anxious about clothing? Study the wild lilies, and how they grow. They neither toil nor spin;
| و برای لباس چرا می اندیشید؟ در سوسنهای چمن تامل کنید، چگونه نمو می‌کنند! نه محنت می‌کشند و نه می‌ریسند! | ۲۸ |
29 yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his splendour was not robed like one of these.
| لیکن به شما می‌گویم سلیمان هم باهمه جلال خود چون یکی از آنها آراسته نشد. | ۲۹ |
30 If God so clothes even the grass of the field, which is living today and tomorrow will be thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?
| پس اگر خدا علف صحرا را که امروز هست وفردا در تنور افکنده می‌شود چنین بپوشاند، ای کم‌ایمانان آیا نه شما را از طریق اولی؟ | ۳۰ |
31 Do not then ask anxiously “What can we get to eat?” or “What can we get to drink?” or “What can we get to wear?”
| پس اندیشه مکنید و مگویید چه بخوریم یا چه بنوشیم یا چه بپوشیم. | ۳۱ |
32 All these are the things for which the nations are seeking, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
| زیرا که در طلب جمیع این چیزها امت‌ها می‌باشند. اما پدر آسمانی شمامی داند که بدین همه‌چیز احتیاج دارید. | ۳۲ |
33 But first seek his kingdom and the righteousness that he requires, and then all these things will be added for you.
| لیکن اول ملکوت خدا و عدالت او را بطلبید که این همه برای شما مزید خواهد شد. | ۳۳ |
34 Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own anxieties. Every day has trouble enough of its own.
| پس در اندیشه فردا مباشید زیرا فردا اندیشه خود را خواهد کرد. بدی امروز برای امروز کافی است. | ۳۴ |
