Jonah 4

1 But this seemed very wrong to Jonah and he became angry.

၁ယောန သည် အလွန် စိတ်ညစ် ၍ အမျက်ထွက် သဖြင့် ၊ အို ထာဝရဘုရား ၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တောင်းပန်ပါ၏။ အကျွန်ုပ် သည် ကိုယ် ပြည် ၌ ရှိ စဉ် ၊ ဤသို့ ပြော ပါပြီ မ ဟုတ် လော။ ထိုကြောင့် ၊ ကိုယ်တော်ထံမှ တာရှု မြို့သို့ ကြိုးစား၍ ပြေး ပါ၏။

2 He prayed to the Lord and said, ‘Ah, Lord, wasn’t this what I said when I was still in my own country? That was why I fled at once to Tarshish; for I knew that you are a gracious and merciful God, patient, and loving and ready to forgive.

၂ကိုယ်တော် သည် သနား စုံမက်တတ်သော ဘုရား ဖြစ်၍ စိတ်ရှည် သောသဘော၊ ကျေးဇူး ပြုချင်သော သဘော၊ အပြစ်ဒဏ် ပေးမည့်အမှုကို နောင်တရ တတ်သော သဘောရှိတော်မူကြောင်း ကို အကျွန်ုပ် သိ ပါ၏။

3 Therefore, Lord, I beg you, take my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live!’

၃သို့ဖြစ်၍ ၊ အိုထာဝရဘုရား ၊ အကျွန်ုပ် အသက် ကို နှုတ်ယူ တော်မူပါ။ အကျွန်ုပ် အသက် ရှင်ခြင်းထက် သေ ခြင်း သည် သာ၍ကောင်း ပါသည်ဟု တောင်း လျှောက်လေ ၏။

4 But the Lord said, ‘Are you doing right in being angry?’

၄ထာဝရဘုရား ကလည်း ၊ သင် သည် အမျက် ထွက် ကောင်း သလောဟုမေး တော်မူ၏။

5 Then Jonah went out of the city and sat down on the east side, and there made a hut for himself and sat under it, waiting to see what would become of the city.

၅ယောန သည် မြို့ ၌ အဘယ်သို့ ဖြစ် မည်ကို သိမြင် ခြင်းငှါ၊ မြို့ ပြင်သို့ထွက် ၍ မြို့ အရှေ့ မျက်နှာ၌ တဲ မိုးကို လုပ် ပြီးလျှင် ၊ အမိုးအရိပ် တွင် ထိုင် ၍နေ၏။

6 And the Lord arranged for a bush to grow up over Jonah as a shade for his head to make him comfortable. The bush gave Jonah great pleasure;

၆အရှင် ထာဝရဘုရား သည်လည်း ကြက်ဆူ ပင်ကို ပြင်ဆင် ပြီးလျှင် ၊ ယောန၏စိတ်ကို ပြေ စေခြင်းငှါ သူ့ ခေါင်း ပေါ်မှာ လွှမ်း၍ မိုးစေတော်မူ၏။ ထိုအပင် ကြောင့် ယောန သည် အလွန် အားရဝမ်းမြောက် ၏။

7 but at dawn the next day God arranged for a worm which attacked the bush, so that it wilted.

၇နက်ဖြန် မိုဃ်းလင်း သောအခါ ဘုရား သခင်ခန့် ထား တော်မူသောပိုး ကောင်သည် ကြက်ဆူ ပင်ကို ကိုက် ၍ ညှိုးနွမ်း စေ၏။

8 And when the sun rose, God arranged a hot east wind. And the sun beat upon Jonah’s head, so that he was faint and begged that he might die, saying, ‘It is better for me to die than to live.’

၈နေ ထွက် သောအခါ ဘုရား သခင်သည် အလွန် ပူ သောအရှေ့ လေ ကို ပြင်ဆင် တော်မူ၍ ၊ ယောန ၏ ခေါင်း ကို နေ ထိခိုက် သဖြင့် သူသည် မော ၍ သေ ချင်သော စိတ် ရှိ လျက် ၊ ငါ့ အသက်သေ ခြင်းသည် ရှင် ခြင်းထက် သာ၍ကောင်း သည်ဟု မြည်တမ်း လေ၏။

9 But God said to Jonah, ‘Are you doing right in being angry about the bush?’ He replied, ‘I have every right to be as angry as I could possibly be!’

၉ဘုရား သခင်ကလည်း ၊ သင်သည် ကြက်ဆူ ပင် အတွက် အမျက် ထွက်ကောင်း သလောဟုမေး တော်မူလျှင် ၊ ယောနက၊ အကျွန်ုပ် သည် အသက်သေ သည် တိုင်အောင် အမျက် ထွက်ကောင်း ပါသည်ဟု လျှောက် ဆို၏။

10 The Lord said, ‘You care about a bush which has cost you no trouble and which you have not made grow, which came up in a night and wilted in a night.

၁၀ထာဝရဘုရား ကလည်း ၊ သင် သည် ပင်ပန်းစွာ မ လုပ် ၊ ကြီးပွား စေခြင်းငှါလည်း မ ပြုစု၊ တညဉ့် ခြင်းတွင် ပေါက် ၍ တညဉ့် ခြင်းတွင် သေ သော ကြက်ဆူ ပင်ကို နှမြော သည်တကား။

11 Should I not care for the great city Nineveh, in which there are one hundred and twenty thousand people who do not know their right hand from their left; and many cattle too?’

၁၁ငါ သည် များစွာ သော တိရစ္ဆာန် တို့ကိုမဆို၊ ကိုယ် လက်ျာ လက်နှင့် လက်ဝဲ လက်ကိုမျှ ပိုင်းခြား၍ မ သိ သော သူ တသိန်း နှစ်သောင်းမက ၊ လူ များ သော နိနေဝေ မြို့ ကြီး ကို ငါနှမြော သင့်သည်မ ဟုတ်လောဟု မိန့် တော်မူ ၏။
