Jonah 2
1 Jonah prayed to the Lord his God, out of the belly of the fish,
तब मछली के पेट में से योनाह ने याहवेह अपने परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना की.
2 and said: I cried out of my distress, to the Lord and he answered me; out of the midst of Sheol I cried aloud, and you heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
उसने कहा: “अपने संकट में मैंने याहवेह को पुकारा, और उन्होंने मुझे उत्तर दिया. मृत्युलोक की गहराई में से मैंने सहायता की याचना की, और आपने मेरी याचना सुन ली. (Sheol h7585)
3 For you cast me into the deep, into heart of the seas, and the great flood rolled about me; all your breakers and your waves passed over me.
आपने मुझे गहराई में, समुद्र के गहराई में डाल दिया, मैं समुद्र के जल प्रवाह में समा गया; आप ही की लहरें टकराकर मेरे ऊपर से प्रवाहित होती रहीं.
4 Then I said, I am driven out, away from your sight; How will I ever again look towards your holy temple?
मैंने कहा, ‘मुझे आपके सामने से निकाल दिया गया है; फिर भी मैं आपके पवित्र मंदिर की ओर फिर ताकूंगा.’
5 The waters surrounded me, the great deep engulfed me, the sea weeds were wrapped about my head.
डुबानेवाला पानी मुझे डरा रहा था, गहराई मेरे चारों तरफ थी; समुद्री घांसपात से मेरा सिर लिपटा हुआ था.
6 I went down to the roots of the mountains; the prison of the earth closed over me forever. Yet you brought up my life from destruction, O Lord my God.
समुद्र में मैं तो पर्वतों के जड़ तक उतर गया; पृथ्वी के तल ने मुझे सदा के लिए जकड़ लिया था. किंतु आपने, हे याहवेह मेरे परमेश्वर, मुझे गड्ढे में से निकाल लिया.
7 As my life slipped away, I remembered the Lord; and my prayer reached you, in your holy temple.
“जब मेरे जीवन का अंत हो रहा था, हे याहवेह, मैंने आपको स्मरण किया, और मेरी प्रार्थना आपके पास, आपके पवित्र मंदिर में पहुंची.
8 Those who worship worthless idols abandon their own mercy,
“वे जो बेकार की मूर्तियों पर मन लगाते हैं वे अपने आपको परमेश्वर के प्रेम से दूर रखते हैं.
9 but I will sacrifice to you with loud thanksgiving! I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is the Lord’s.
पर मैं कृतज्ञता से भरे प्रशंसा के ऊंचे शब्दों के साथ, आपके लिये बलिदान चढ़ाऊंगा. जो मन्नत मैंने मानी है, उसे मैं पूरी करूंगा. मैं कहूंगा, ‘उद्धार याहवेह ही से होता है.’”
10 And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it threw up Jonah upon the dry land.
तब याहवेह ने उस मछली को आज्ञा दी, और उसने योनाह को सूखी भूमि पर उगल दिया.
