< Hosea 14 >

1 Return, Israel, to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity.
‌ʻE ʻIsileli, tafoki kia Sihova ko ho ʻOtua; he kuo ke tō ki lalo ʻi hoʻo hia.
2 Take words of repentance with you, and return to the Lord your God. Say to him: Wholly pardon our iniquity, accept that which is good, instead of sacrificing bulls, we offer our praise.
Toʻo kiate kimoutolu ʻae lea, pea tafoki kia Sihova: lea pehē kiate ia, “Toʻo atu ʻae hia kotoa pē, pea maʻu fakafiemālie ʻakimautolu: ko ia te mau ʻatu ai kiate koe ʻae ngaahi fua ʻo homau loungutu.
3 Assyria will not save us, nor Egyptian warhorses, and we will no more call the work of our hands our gods. For in you orphan Israel finds mercy.
‌ʻE ʻikai fakamoʻui ʻakimautolu ʻe ʻAsilia, ʻe ʻikai te mau heka ʻi he hoosi: pea ʻe ʻikai te mau toe pehē ki he ngāue ʻa homau nima, ‘Ko homau ʻotua ʻakimoutolu:’ he ʻoku ʻilo ʻe he tamai mate ʻae ʻaloʻofa ʻiate koe.”
4 ‘I will heal their apostasy, I will love them freely, now that my anger is turned away from them,
“Te u fakamoʻui ʻenau fakaholomui, te u ʻofa mataʻataʻatā kiate kinautolu: he kuo afe meiate ia ʻa hoku houhau.
5 I will be as dew to Israel. He will blossom like the lily, he will plant his roots like the cedars of Lebanon,
Te u hangē ko e hahau ki ʻIsileli: te ne tupu ʻo hangē ko e lile, pea totolo hono aka ʻo hangē ko Lepanoni.
6 his saplings will spread out, his beauty will be like that of the olive tree, his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon.
‌ʻE hoko ʻo lau lahi hono ngaahi vaʻa, pea ko hono lelei ʻe hangē ko e ʻakau ko e ʻolive, pea ko hono nanamu ʻe hangē ko Lepanoni.
7 People will return and dwell in my shade, they will bring life to new grain. They shall sprout like the vine, and their renown will be like that of the wine of Lebanon.
Ko kinautolu ʻoku nofo ʻi he malu ʻo ia, te nau toe haʻu; te nau toe moʻui hangē ko e koane, pea tupu ʻo hangē ko e vaine: ko hono nanamu, ʻe hangē ko e uaine ʻo Lepanoni.
8 Ephraim – what have I to do with idols! It is I the Lord who respond to him and look after him. I am like an evergreen cypress, from me is your fruit found.
‌ʻE pehē ʻe ʻIfalemi, Ko e hā te u toe kau ai mo e ngaahi tamapua? Kuo u fanongo, pea mamata kiate ia: ʻoku ou hangē ko e ʻakau mata ko e fea. ʻOku maʻu meiate au hoʻo fua.”
9 Whoever is wise, let him discern these things, prudent, let him perceive them; For the Lord’s ways are straight, and the righteous walk in them, but the wicked stumble in them.
Ko hai ʻae poto, pea te ne ʻilo ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni? ʻAe fakapotopoto, pea te ne ʻiloʻi ia? He ko e ngaahi hala ʻo Sihova ʻoku totonu, pea ʻe ʻaʻeva ai ʻae angatonu: ka ʻe hinga hifo ai ʻae kau talangataʻa.
