< Amos 2 >

1 The Lord says: For Moab’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They have burned to lime the bones of the king of Edom,
Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí, “Nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ mẹ́ta ti Moabu, àní fún mẹ́rin, Èmi kò ní yí ìpinnu ìjìyà mi padà, nítorí ó ti sun ún, di eérú, egungun ọba Edomu,
2 to desecrate the dead. So I will send a fire into Moab. It will devour the palaces of Kirioth, with a war-cry, with the sound of trumpets.
Èmi yóò rán iná sí orí Moabu èyí tí yóò jó àwọn ààfin Kerioti run. Moabu yóò sì kú pẹ̀lú ariwo pẹ̀lú igbe àti pẹ̀lú ìró ìpè.
3 I will kill the ruler, all his nobles I will slay with him, says the Lord.
Èmi yóò ké onídàájọ́ rẹ̀ kúrò, Èmi yóò sì pa gbogbo àwọn ọmọ-aládé rẹ́ nínú rẹ̀,” ni Olúwa wí.
4 The Lord says: For Judah’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They have rejected the law of the Lord and have not kept his statutes. Instead their false gods their ancestors followed, have led them astray.
Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí, “Nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ mẹ́ta ti Juda, àní fún mẹ́rin, Èmi kò ní yí ìpinnu ìjìyà mi padà. Nítorí wọn ti kọ òfin Olúwa sílẹ̀, wọn kò sì pa àwọn ìlànà rẹ̀ mọ́. Nítorí àwọn òrìṣà ti sì wọ́n lọ́nà, òrìṣà tí àwọn Baba ńlá wọn ń tẹ̀lé,
5 So I will send a fire on Judah. It will devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
Èmi yóò rán iná sí orí Juda èyí tí yóò jó àwọn ààfin Jerusalẹmu run.”
6 The Lord says: For Israel’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They sell the righteous for money, the needy for a pair of shoes.
Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí: “Nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ mẹ́ta Israẹli àní fún mẹ́rin, Èmi kò ní yí ìpinnu ìjìyà mi padà. Wọ́n ta olódodo fún fàdákà àti aláìní fún bàtà ẹsẹ̀ méjèèjì.
7 They trample on the head of the poor, push the humble out of the way. Father and son go to the same temple girl, and so profane my holy name.
Wọ́n fi ẹsẹ̀ tẹ orí àwọn tálákà mọ́lẹ̀, bí wọ́n ti ń tẹ erùpẹ̀ ilẹ̀ tí wọ́n ko sì ṣe òtítọ́ si àwọn tí a ni lára. Baba àti ọmọ ń wọlé tọ wúńdíá kan náà, láti ba orúkọ mímọ́ mi jẹ́.
8 They stretch themselves on garments taken in pledges beside every altar, and they drink the wine of those who have been fined in the house of their God.
Wọ́n dùbúlẹ̀ lẹ́bàá a pẹpẹ, lórí aṣọ tí wọ́n fi jẹ́ ẹ̀jẹ́ ní ilé òrìṣà wọn wọ́n sì mu ọtí tí wọ́n san fún ìtánràn.
9 It was I who destroyed the Amorites for your sake, whose height was like that of the cedars, as strong as oaks. I destroyed their fruit from above and their roots from below.
“Mo pa àwọn ará Amori run níwájú wọn gíga ẹni tí ó dàbí igi kedari. Òun sì le koko bí igi óákù mo pa èso rẹ̀ run láti òkè wá àti egbò rẹ̀ láti ìsàlẹ̀ wá.
10 It was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, led you forty years in the wilderness, brought you here to possess the land of the Amorites.
Èmi mú un yín gòkè láti ilẹ̀ Ejibiti wá, mo sì sìn yín la aginjù já ní ogójì ọdún láti fi ilẹ̀ àwọn ará Amori fún un yín.
11 I raised up some of your sons to be prophets some of your youths to be Nazirites. Is not this indeed so, Israelites? says the Lord.
“Èmi sì tún gbé àwọn wòlíì dìde láàrín àwọn ọmọ yín àti láàrín àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin yín láti jẹ Nasiri èyí kò ha jẹ́ òtítọ́ bí ará Israẹli?” ni Olúwa wí.
12 But you made the Nazirites drink wine and banned the prophets from prophesying.
“Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin fún àwọn Nasiri ní ọtí mu e sì pàṣẹ fún àwọn wòlíì kí wọ́n má ṣe sọtẹ́lẹ̀.
13 Listen! It is I who will make you groan in your places, as a wagon groans under its load of grain.
“Ní báyìí, èmi yóò tẹ̀ yín mọ́lẹ̀ bí kẹ̀kẹ́ tí ó kún fún ìtí ti í tẹ̀.
14 Then flight will fail the swift, and the strength of the strongest will be useless. The warrior will not save his life,
Ẹni tí ó yára bí àṣá kò ní rí ọ̀nà àbáyọ alágbára kò ní le è dúró lé agbára rẹ̀ jagunjagun kì yóò le gba ẹ̀mí ara rẹ̀ là.
15 the archer will not stand firm, the swift of foot will not escape, the horseman will not save his life.
Tafàtafà kì yóò dúró lórí ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ẹni tí ó gún ẹṣin kì yóò gba ẹ̀mí ara rẹ̀ là.
16 The bravest of warriors will flee away naked in that day, says the Lord.
Àní jagunjagun tí ó gbóyà jùlọ yóò sálọ ní ìhòhò ní ọjọ́ náà,” ni Olúwa wí.
