< Psalms 130 >

1 Out of the depths I have cried to you, Adonai.
A Canticle in steps. From the depths, I have cried out to you, O Lord.
2 Lord, sh'ma ·hear obey· my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.
O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.
3 If you, Yah, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?
If you, O Lord, were to heed iniquities, who, O Lord, could persevere?
4 But there is forgiveness with you, therefore you are feared.
For with you, there is forgiveness, and because of your law, I persevered with you, Lord. My soul has persevered in his word.
5 I wait for Adonai. My soul waits. I hope in his word.
My soul has hoped in the Lord.
6 My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning; more than watchmen for the morning.
From the morning watch, even until night, let Israel hope in the Lord.
7 Israel [God prevails], hope in Adonai, for with Adonai there is cheshed ·loving-kindness·. With him is abundant redemption.
For with the Lord there is mercy, and with him there is bountiful redemption.
8 He will redeem Israel [God prevails] from all their sins.
And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
