Exodus 8

1 Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, “This is what Adonai says, ‘Let my people go, that they may abad ·serve· me.

Herren sade till Mose: Gack in till Pharao, och säg till honom: Detta säger Herren: Släpp mitt folk, att de måga tjena mig.

2 If you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs:

Hvar du icke vill, si, så vill jag plåga alla dina landsändar med paddor;

3 and the river shall swarm with frogs, which shall go up and come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the house of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs:

Så att älfven skall uppvälla paddor; de skola uppstiga, och komma in i din hus, in i din kammar, in i ditt lägre, in i din säng, och in i dina tjenares hus, ibland ditt folk, in uti dina bakugnar, och uti din deg.

4 and the frogs shall come up both on you, and on your people, and on all your servants.’”

Och paddor skola stiga uppå dig, och uppå ditt folk, och uppå alla dina tjenare.

5 Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Tell Aaron [Light-bringer], ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the rivers, over the streams, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].’”

Och Herren sade till Mose: Säg till Aaron: Räck ut dina hand med din staf öfver älfver, och strömmar, och sjöar, och låt paddor komma öfver Egypti land.

6 Aaron [Light-bringer] stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt [Abode of slavery]; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].

Och Aaron räckte sina hand öfver vattnen i Egypten; och paddor kommo derut, så att Egypti land vardt öfvertäckt.

7 The magicians did the same thing with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].

Då gjorde ock trollkarlarne sammalunda med deras besvärjningar; och läto komma paddor öfver Egypti land.

8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer], and said, “Entreat Adonai, that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Adonai.”

Då kallade Pharao Mose och Aaron, och sade: Beder Herren för mig, att han tager paddorna ifrå mig, och ifrå mitt folk; så vill jag släppa folket, att de måga offra Herranom.

9 Moses [Drawn out] said to Pharaoh, “I give you the honor of setting the time that I should pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only.”

Mose sade: Haf du den ärona, och lägg mig före, när jag skall bedja för dig, för dina tjenare, och för ditt folk; att paddorna skola fördrefna varda ifrå dig, och ifrå ditt hus, och allenast blifva i älfvene.

10 He said, “Tomorrow.” He said, “Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God].

Han sade: I morgon. Han sade: Såsom du sagt hafver, på det du skall förnimma, att ingen är såsom Herren vår Gud;

11 The frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.”

Så skola paddorna varda tagna ifrå dig, ifrå ditt hus, ifrå dina tjenare, ifrå ditt folk, och allena blifva i älfvene.

12 Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] went out from Pharaoh, and Moses [Drawn out] cried to Adonai concerning the frogs which he had brought on Pharaoh.

Så gingo Mose och Aaron ifrå Pharao. Och Mose ropade till Herran för paddornas skull, såsom han Pharao tillsagt hade.

13 Adonai did according to the word of Moses [Drawn out], and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.

Och Herren gjorde, som Mose sagt hade. Och paddorna blefvo döda i husen, i gårdarna, och på markene.

14 They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.

Och de kastade dem tillsamman, här en hop, och der en hop, och marken luktade derutaf.

15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· them, as Adonai had spoken.

Då Pharao såg, att han hade fått rolighet, vardt hans hjerta förhärdadt, och hörde dem intet, såsom Herren sagt hade.

16 Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Tell Aaron [Light-bringer], ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].’”

Och Herren sade till Mose: Säg till Aaron: Räck ut din staf, och slå i stoftet på jordene, att löss varda i hela Egypti lande.

17 They did so; and Aaron [Light-bringer] stretched out his hand with his rod, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were lice on man, and on animal; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].

De gjorde ock så. Och Aaron räckte ut sina hand med sin staf, och slog i stoftet uppå jordene, och der vordo löss på menniskom, och på boskapen. Allt stoft på markene vardt löss i hela Egypti lande.

18 The magicians tried with their enchantments to produce lice, but they couldn’t. There were lice on man, and on animal.

Trollkarlarne gjorde ock sammalunda med deras besvärjningar, att de skulle göra löss, men de kunde icke. Och lössen voro på menniskom, och på boskapen.

19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is God’s finger:” and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· them; as Adonai had spoken.

Då sade trollkarlarne till Pharao: Detta är Guds finger. Men Pharaos hjerta vardt förstockadt, och han hörde dem intet, såsom Herren sagt hade.

20 Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; behold, he comes out to the water; and tell him, ‘This is what Adonai says, “Let my people go, that they may abad ·serve· me.

Och Herren sade till Mose: Statt upp bittida om morgonen, och gack för Pharao. Si, han varder utgångandes till vattnet, och säg till honom: Detta säger Herren: Släpp mitt folk, att de måga tjena mig.

21 Else, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and into your houses: and the houses of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.

Hvar icke, si, så vill jag låta komma allehanda ohyra öfver dig, dina tjenare, ditt folk, och ditt hus, så att all de Egyptiers hus, och marken, och hvad deruppå är, skola varda full af ohyro.

22 I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen [Drawing near], in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am Adonai on the earth.

Och vill jag på den dagen göra ett besynnerligit med den landsändan Gosen, der mitt folk uti är, att der skall ingen ohyra komma, på det du skall förnimma, att jag är Herren öfver hela jordena;

23 I will put a division between my people and your people: by tomorrow shall this sign be.”’”

Och vill en förlösning sätta emellan mitt folk och ditt. I morgon skall det tecknet ske.

24 Adonai did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses: and in all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery] the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.

Och Herren gjorde så. Och der kom mycken ohyra uti Pharaos hus, i hans tjenares hus, och öfver hela Egypti land, och landet vardt förderfvadt af den ohyrone.

25 Pharaoh called for Moses [Drawn out] and for Aaron [Light-bringer], and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land!”

Då kallade Pharao Mose och Aaron, och sade: Går åstad, och offrer edrom Gud här i landena.

26 Moses [Drawn out] said, “It is not appropriate to do so; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] to Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. Behold, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] before their eyes, and won’t they stone us?

Mose sade: Det betämmer sig icke, att vi så göre; förty vi offre Herranom vårom Gud de Egyptiers styggelse. Si, när vi nu de Egyptiers styggelse offrade för deras ögon, månde de icke skola stena oss?

27 We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God], as he has ordered us to do.”

Tre dagsresor vilje vi gå in uti öknena, och offra Herranom vårom Gud, såsom han oss sagt hafver.

28 Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Adonai your God in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Pray for me.”

Pharao sade: Jag vill släppa eder, att I må offra Herranom edrom Gud i öknene, allenast att I icke fjerran faren; och bedjen för mig.

29 Moses [Drawn out] said, “Behold, I go out from you, and I will pray to Adonai that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; only don’t let Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Adonai.”

Mose sade: Si, när jag härut ifrå dig kommer, så vill jag bedja Herran, att denna ohyran må blifva borttagen ifrå Pharao, och hans tjenare, och hans folke, i morgon; allenast förhala mig icke länger, att du icke släpper folket till att offra Herranom.

30 Moses [Drawn out] went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Adonai.

Och Mose gick ut ifrå Pharao, och bad Herran.

31 Adonai did according to the word of Moses [Drawn out], and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. There remained not one.

Och Herren gjorde, såsom Mose sagt hade, och tog de ohyrona bort ifrå Pharao, ifrå hans tjenare, och ifrå hans folke, så att icke en blef qvar.

32 Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he didn’t let the people go.

Men Pharao förhärdade sitt hjerta ännu i denna resone, och ville icke släppa folket.
