< Psalms 149 >

1 Praise ye the LORD! Sing unto the LORD a new song; His praise in the assembly of the godly!
Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the faithful ones.
2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him; Let the sons of Zion be joyful in their king!
Let Israel rejoice in him who made them. Let the people of Zion be joyful in their King.
3 Let them praise his name in the dance; Let them praise him with the timbrel and harp!
Let them praise his name in the dance. Let them sing praises to him with tambourine and harp.
4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people; He will beautify the distressed with salvation.
For the LORD takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation.
5 Let the godly-rejoice in their glory; Let them shout for joy upon their beds!
Let the faithful ones rejoice in glory. Let them sing for joy on their beds.
6 Let the praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,
May the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the nations, And punishment upon the peoples!
To execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples;
8 To bind their kings with chains. And their nobles with fetters of iron;
To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute upon them the sentence which is written: This honor have all his godly ones. Praise ye the LORD!
to execute on them the written judgment. All his faithful ones have this honor. Praise the LORD.
