Acts 4
1 And while they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
Als sie aber zum Volk redeten, traten zu ihnen die Priester und der Hauptmann des Tempels und die Sadduzäer
2 being indignant that they taught the people, and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
(die verdroß, daß sie das Volk lehreten und verkündigten an Jesu die Auferstehung von den Toten)
3 And they laid hands upon them, and put them in prison until the next day; for it was now evening.
und legten die Hände an sie und setzten sie ein bis auf den Morgen; denn es war jetzt Abend.
4 Many however of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men became five thousand.
Aber viele unter denen, die dem Wort zuhöreten, wurden gläubig; und ward die Zahl der Männer bei fünftausend.
5 And it came to pass on the next day, that their rulers and elders and scribes,
Als es nun kam auf den Morgen, versammelten sich ihre Obersten und Ältesten und Schriftgelehrten gen Jerusalem:
6 and Annas the high-priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high-priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
Hannas, der Hohepriester, und Kaiphas und Johannes und Alexander, und wieviel ihrer waren vom Hohenpriestergeschlecht,
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, did ye do this?
und stelleten sie vor sich und fragten sie: Aus welcher Gewalt oder in welchem Namen habt ihr das getan?
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel!
Petrus, voll des Heiligen Geistes, sprach zu ihnen: Ihr Obersten des Volks und ihr Ältesten von Israel,
9 If we are this day examined in respect to a good deed done to a cripple, by what means he hath been restored,
so wir heute werden gerichtet über dieser Wohltat an dem kranken Menschen, durch welche er ist gesund worden,
10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, —by him doth this man stand here before you sound.
so sei euch und allem Volk von Israel kundgetan, daß in dem Namen Jesu Christi von Nazareth, welchen ihr gekreuziget habt, den Gott von den Toten auferwecket hat, stehet dieser allhie vor euch gesund.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought by you the builders, which is become a cornerstone.
Das ist der Stein, von euch Bauleuten verworfen, der zum Eckstein worden
12 And there is salvation in no other; for there is not another name under heaven, that hath been given among men, by which we must be saved.
Und ist in keinem andern Heil, ist auch kein anderer Name den Menschen gegeben, darinnen wir sollen selig werden.
13 And when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and common men, they wondered; and they recognized them as having been with Jesus.
Sie sahen aber an die Freudigkeit des Petrus und Johannes und verwunderten sich; denn sie waren gewiß, daß es ungelehrte Leute und Laien waren, und kannten sie auch wohl, daß sie mit Jesu gewesen waren.
14 And seeing the man that had been cured standing with them, they could say nothing in reply.
Sie sahen aber den Menschen, der gesund worden war, bei ihnen stehen und hatten nichts dawider zu reden.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
Da hießen sie sie hinausgehen aus dem Rat und handelten miteinander und sprachen:
16 saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a remarkable sign hath been wrought by them is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
Was wollen wir diesen Menschen tun? Denn das Zeichen, durch sie geschehen, ist kund, offenbar allen, die zu Jerusalem wohnen, und wir können's nicht leugnen.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us strictly forbid them with threats to speak any longer in this name to any one.
Aber auf daß es nicht weiter einreiße unter das Volk, lasset uns ernstlich sie bedräuen, daß sie hinfort keinem Menschen von diesem Namen sagen.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all, nor teach, in the name of Jesus.
Und riefen sie und geboten ihnen, daß sie sich allerdinge nicht hören ließen noch lehreten in dem Namen Jesu.
19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken to you rather than to God, judge ye.
Petrus aber und Johannes antworteten und sprachen zu ihnen: Richtet ihr selbst, ob's vor Gott recht sei, daß wir euch mehr gehorchen denn Gott.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.
Wir können's ja nicht lassen, daß wir nicht reden sollten, was wir gesehen und gehöret haben.
21 So, having further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, on account of the people; because all were glorifying God for that which had been done.
Aber sie dräueten ihnen und ließen sie gehen und fanden nicht, wie sie sie peinigten, um des Volks willen; denn sie lobeten alle Gott über dem, was geschehen war.
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this sign of the healing had been wrought.
Denn der Mensch war über vierzig Jahre alt, an welchem dies Zeichen der Gesundheit geschehen war.
23 And being released they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
Und als man sie hatte lassen gehen, kamen sie zu den Ihren und verkündigten ihnen, was die Hohenpriester und Ältesten zu ihnen gesagt hatten.
24 And on hearing it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art he that made heaven and earth and sea, and all things that are in them;
Da sie das höreten, huben sie ihre Stimme auf einmütiglich zu Gott und sprachen: HERR, der du bist der Gott, der Himmel und Erde und das Meer und alles, was drinnen ist, gemacht hat;
25 who by the mouth of thy servant David said, “Why did the heathen rage, and the peoples meditate vain things?
der du durch den Mund Davids, deines Knechts, gesagt hast: Warum empören sich die Heiden, und die Völker nehmen vor, was umsonst ist?
26 The kings of the earth came up, and the rulers assembled together, against the Lord, and against his Anointed.”
Die Könige der Erde treten zusammen, und die Fürsten versammeln sich zuhaufe wider den HERRN und wider seinen Christ:
27 For in truth against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, did both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the gentiles, and the peoples of Israel, assemble in this city,
wahrlich ja, sie haben sich versammelt über dein heiliges Kind Jesum, welchen du gesalbet hast, Herodes und Pontius Pilatus mit den Heiden und dem Volk Israel,
28 to do whatever thy hand and thy will before determined to be done.
zu tun, was deine Hand und dein Rat zuvor bedacht hat, das geschehen sollte.
29 And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings, and grant to thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
Und nun, HERR, siehe an ihr Dräuen und gib deinen Knechten, mit aller Freudigkeit zu reden dein Wort,
30 while thou stretchest forth thy hand to heal, and signs and wonders are wrought through the name of thy holy servant Jesus.
und strecke deine Hand aus, daß Gesundheit und Zeichen und Wunder geschehen durch den Namen deines heiligen Kindes Jesu.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Und da sie gebetet hatten, bewegte sich die Stätte; da sie versammelt waren; und wurden alle des Heiligen Geistes voll und redeten das Wort Gottes mit Freudigkeit.
32 And the multitude of those who believed were of one heart, and of one soul; and not one of them said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
Die Menge aber der Gläubigen war ein Herz und eine Seele; auch keiner sagte von seinen Gütern, daß sie sein wären, sondern es war ihnen alles gemein.
33 And with great power did the apostles give their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus; and great grace was upon them all.
Und mit großer Kraft gaben die Apostel Zeugnis von der Auferstehung des HERRN Jesu, und war große Gnade bei ihnen allen.
34 For there was no one among them that was in want; for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
Es war auch keiner unter ihnen, der Mangel hatte; denn wieviel ihrer waren, die da Äcker oder Häuser hatten, verkauften sie dieselben und brachten das Geld des verkauften Guts
35 and laid them at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to every one, according as he had need.
und legten's zu der Apostel Füßen; und man gab einem jeglichen; was ihm not war.
36 And Joseph, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, when interpreted, Son of consolation, ) a Levite, born in Cyprus,
Joses aber, mit dem Zunamen von den Aposteln genannt Barnabas (das heißt, ein Sohn des Trostes), vom Geschlecht ein Levit aus Zypern,
37 having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
der hatte einen Acker und verkaufte ihn und brachte das Geld und legte es zu der Apostel Füßen.
