Matthew 22
1 Jesus answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying,
Y respondiendo Jesús, les volvió a hablar en parábolas, diciendo:
2 "The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,
El reino de los cielos es semejante a un hombre rey, que hizo bodas a su hijo.
3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come.
Y envió sus siervos para que llamasen a los convidados a las bodas; mas no quisieron venir.
4 Again he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "Look, I have made ready my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast."'
Volvió a enviar otros siervos, diciendo: Decíd a los convidados: He aquí, mi comida he aparejado, mis toros y animales engordados son muertos, y todo está aparejado: veníd a las bodas.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise,
Mas ellos no hicieron caso, y se fueron, uno a su labranza, y otro a sus negocios;
6 and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.
Y otros, tomando sus siervos, afrentáronlos, y matáronlos.
7 The king was enraged, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
Y el rey, oyendo esto, se enojó; y enviando sus ejércitos, destruyó a aquellos homicidas, y puso a fuego su ciudad.
8 "Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren't worthy.
Entonces dice a sus siervos: Las bodas a la verdad están aparejadas; mas los que eran llamados, no eran dignos.
9 Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage feast.'
Id pues a las salidas de los caminos, y llamád a las bodas a cuantos hallareis.
10 And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all they found, both bad and good, and the wedding was filled with those reclining.
Y saliendo los siervos por los caminos, juntaron todos los que hallaron, juntamente malos y buenos; y las bodas fueron llenas de convidados.
11 But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who did not have on wedding clothing,
Y entró el rey para ver los convidados, y vio allí un hombre no vestido de vestido de boda.
12 and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?' He was speechless.
Y le díjo: Amigo, ¿cómo entraste acá no teniendo vestido de boda? Y a él se le cerró la boca.
13 Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.'
Entonces el rey dijo a los que servían: Atado de pies y de manos, tomádle, y echádle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el lloro, y el crujir de dientes.
14 For many are called, but few chosen."
Porque muchos son llamados; mas pocos escogidos.
15 Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.
Entonces idos los Fariseos, consultaron como le tomarían en alguna palabra.
16 They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach, for you are not partial to anyone.
Y envían a él sus discípulos, con los de Heródes, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres amador de verdad, y que enseñas con verdad el camino de Dios; y que no te cuidas de nadie; porque no tienes acepción de persona de hombres:
17 Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"
Dinos pues, ¿qué te parece? ¿Es lícito dar tributo a César, o no?
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, "Why do you test me, you hypocrites?
Mas Jesús, entendida su malicia, les dice: ¿Por qué me tentáis, hipócritas?
19 Show me the tax money." They brought to him a denarius.
Mostrádme la moneda del tributo. Y ellos le presentaron un denario.
20 He asked them, "Whose is this image and inscription?"
Entonces les dice: ¿Cúya es esta figura, y lo que está encima escrito?
21 They said to him, "Caesar's." Then he said to them, "Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
Ellos le dicen: De César. Y les dice: Pagád, pues, a César lo que es de César, y a Dios, lo que es de Dios.
22 When they heard it, they were astonished, and left him, and went away.
Y oyendo esto se maravillaron, y dejáronle, y se fueron.
23 On that day Sadducees came to him, the ones saying that there is no resurrection. And they asked him,
Aquel día llegaron a él los Saduceos, que dicen no haber resurrección, y le preguntaron,
24 saying, "Teacher, Moses said, 'If a man dies, having no children, his brother is to marry his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.'
Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muriere sin hijos, su hermano se case con su mujer, y despertará simiente a su hermano.
25 Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother.
Fueron, pues, entre nosotros siete hermanos; y el primero tomó mujer, y murió; y no teniendo generación, dejó su mujer a su hermano.
26 In like manner the second also, and the third, to the seventh.
De la misma manera también el segundo, y el tercero, hasta los siete.
27 After them all, the woman died.
Y después de todos murió también la mujer.
28 In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her."
En la resurrección, pues, ¿cúya de los siete será la mujer? porque todos la tuvieron.
29 But Jesus answered them, "You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Erráis, ignorando las escrituras, y el poder de Dios.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like the angels in heaven.
Porque en la resurrección, ni se casan, ni se dan en matrimonio; mas son como los ángeles de Dios en el cielo.
31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,
Y de la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no habéis leído lo que es dicho por Dios a vosotros, que dice:
32 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?' God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."
Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob? Dios no es Dios de los muertos, sino de los que viven.
33 When the crowds heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
Y oyendo esto las multitudes estaban fuera de sí de su doctrina.
34 But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.
Entonces los Fariseos, oyendo que había cerrado la boca a los Saduceos, se juntaron a una;
35 One of them, a Law scholar, asked him a question, testing him.
Y preguntó uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, tentándole, y diciendo:
36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?"
Maestro, ¿cuál es el mandamiento grande en la ley?
37 He said to him, "'You are to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
Y Jesús le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de toda tu mente.
38 This is the great and first commandment.
Este es el primero y el grande mandamiento.
39 A second likewise is this, 'You are to love your neighbor as yourself.'
Y el segundo es semejante a éste: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.
40 The whole Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments."
De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley, y los profetas.
41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,
Y estando juntos los Fariseos, Jesús les preguntó,
42 saying, "What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?" They said to him, "Of David."
Diciendo: ¿Qué os parece del Cristo? ¿Cúyo hijo es? Dícenle ellos: De David.
43 He said to them, "How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,
El les dice: Pues, ¿cómo David en Espíritu le llama Señor, diciendo:
44 'The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet'?
Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Asiéntate a mi diestra, entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies?
45 "If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?"
Pues si David le llama Señor, ¿cómo es su hijo?
46 No one was able to answer him a word, neither did anyone dare ask him any more questions from that day forth.
Y nadie le podía responder palabra: ni osó alguno desde aquel día preguntarle más.
