Isaiah 21
1 The oracle of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the Negev sweep through, it comes from the wilderness, from an awesome land.
Ein Ausspruch über die Verheerung der Gebieterin: "Wie Stürme aus dem Süden brausen, so kommt es aus der Wüste, aus fürchterlichem Lande.
2 A grievous vision is declared to me. The treacherous man deals treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Go up, Elam; attack. I have stopped all of Media's sighing.
Ein hart Gesicht wird mir vermeldet: 'Der Räuber raubt, der Tilger tilgt!'- Herauf, Elam! Dräng nach, du Medien! All dem Gestöhne mache ich ein Ende.
3 Therefore my thighs are filled with anguish. Pains have taken hold on me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am in so much pain that I can't hear. I so am dismayed that I can't see.
Darüber zittern meine Hüften; mich packen Schmerzen gleich den Wehen einer Kreißenden. Mir wendet's das Gehör, und das Gesicht verstört es mir.
4 My heart flutters. Horror has frightened me. The twilight that I desired has been turned into trembling for me.
Das Herz pocht mir; ein Beben bebt durch mich. Die Dämmerung, mir sonst so lieb, zum Grauen hat man sie für mich gemacht. -
5 They prepare the table. They set the watch. They eat. They drink. Rise up, you princes, oil the shield.
Auf! Deckt die Tische! Breitet Teppiche! Nun schmaust und zecht! - Ihr Fürsten, auf! Greift nach den Schilden! -
6 For YHWH said to me, "Go, set a watchman. Let him declare what he sees.
Denn also spricht der Herr zu mir: 'Auf denn! Bestell mir einen Wächter! Er melde, was er sieht!
7 When he sees chariots, horsemen in pairs, riders on donkeys, riders on camels, let him listen diligently, very diligently."
Und sieht er Wagen, die bespannt mit Rossen, auf Eseln Reiter, Reiter auf Kamelen, dann horche er, was er nur horchen kann!'
8 Then the lookout shouted: "Lord, I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime, and every night I stay at my post.
Da rief er aus: 'Ich stehe auf der Wache meines Herrn, tagsüber immerzu; auf Posten bin ich all die Nächte.
9 Look, here comes a troop of men, horsemen in pairs." He answered, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the engraved images of her gods are broken to the ground.
Da kommt ein Mann auf einem Wagen, bespannt mit Rossen. Da hebt er an und spricht: "Gestürzt, gestürzt ist Babel. All seine Götterbilder hat man auf die Erde hingeschmettert."'
10 You are my threshing, and the grain of my floor." That which I have heard from YHWH of hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared to you.
O mein zermalmtes und zerdroschenes Volk! Was ich erhorcht vom Herrn der Heeresscharen, dem Gotte Israels, das kündige ich euch."
11 The burden of Dumah. One calls to me out of Seir, "Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?"
Ein Ausspruch über Duma: "Von Seïr ruft's mir zu: 'Du Wächter, ach! Wie spät ist's in der Nacht? Du Wächter, ach! Wie spät ist's in der Nacht?'
12 The watchman said, "The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire. Come back again."
Der Wächter spricht: 'Gekommen ist der Morgen, und doch ist es noch Nacht. Wollt ihr noch mehr erfragen, könnt ihr's tun. Dann kommt nur wieder.'" -
13 The burden on Arabia. In the forest in Arabia you will lodge, you caravans of Dedanites.
Ein Ausspruch über Arabien: "Im Steppenbusche nächtigt, Karawanen Dedans!
14 They brought water to him who was thirsty. The inhabitants of the land of Tema met the fugitives with their bread.
Den Durstigen bringt Wasser zu, Einwohner aus dem Lande Taima, und bietet Brot den Flüchtigen!
15 For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow, and from the heat of battle.
Vor Schwertern sind sie auf der Flucht, vor wohlgeschärften Schwertern, vor wohlgespannten Bogen, vor Kampfeswut.
16 For YHWH said to me, "Within a year, as a worker bound by contract would count it, the glory of Kedar will fail,
Denn also spricht der Herr zu mir: 'Schon binnen Jahresfrist, gerechnet nach Taglöhnersjahren, ist's mit der ganzen Herrlichkeit von Kedar aus.'
17 and the residue of the number of the archers, the warriors of the people of Kedar, will be few; for YHWH, the God of Israel, has spoken it."
Der Rest der Bogenzahl der Krieger bei Kedars Söhnen wird gering. Der Herr, Gott Israels, er sagt es."
