< Mark 1 >

1 The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Kĩambĩrĩria kĩa Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega ũkoniĩ Jesũ Kristũ Mũrũ wa Ngai.
2 As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, "Look, I send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.
O ta ũrĩa kwandĩkĩtwo ibuku-inĩ rĩa Isaia ũrĩa mũnabii atĩrĩ: “Nĩngũtũma mũtũmwo wakwa athiĩ mbere yaku, ũrĩa ũgũgũthondekera njĩra yaku.”
3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord. Make his roads straight.'"
“Kũrĩ mũgambo wa mũndũ ũkwanĩrĩra werũ-inĩ akoiga atĩrĩ, ‘Haarĩriai njĩra ya Mwathani, rũngariai njĩra ciake.’”
4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Johana ookire akĩhunjagia, na akĩbatithanagĩria werũ-inĩ. Aahunjagia atĩ andũ merire, nĩguo marekerwo mehia mao, nĩgeetha mabatithio.
5 And all the country of Judea went out to him and all those from Jerusalem, and they were baptized by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.
Nao andũ othe a bũrũri wa Judea na andũ othe a Jerusalemu magĩthiĩ kũrĩ we. Moimbũraga mehia mao, nake akamabatithĩria rũũĩ-inĩ rwa Jorodani.
6 And John was clothed with camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts and wild honey.
7 And he preached, saying, "After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen.
Nayo ndũmĩrĩri yake yarĩ ĩno: “Thuutha wakwa nĩgũgũũka mũndũ ũngĩ ũrĩ na hinya kũngĩra, ũrĩa niĩ itagĩrĩire kũinamĩrĩra njohore ndigi cia iraatũ ciake.
8 I baptized you in water, but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit."
Niĩ ndĩmũbatithagia na maaĩ, nowe arĩmũbatithagia na Roho Mũtheru.”
9 And it happened in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
Na rĩrĩ, ihinda o rĩu Jesũ agĩũka oimĩte Nazarethi kũu Galili, na akĩbatithio nĩ Johana rũũĩ-inĩ rwa Jorodani.
10 Immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens parting, and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.
Na rĩrĩa Jesũ oimĩraga maaĩ-inĩ akĩona igũrũ rĩahingũka, nake Roho Mũtheru akĩmũikũrũkĩra ahaana ta ndutura.
11 And a voice came out of the sky, "You are my beloved Son, with you I am well pleased."
Mũgambo ũkiuma igũrũ ũkiuga atĩrĩ, “We nĩwe Mũrũ wakwa ũrĩa nyendete, na nĩngenaga mũno nĩwe.”
12 And immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness.
Na o rĩmwe Roho akĩmuoya akĩmũtwara werũ-inĩ,
13 He was in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals; and the angels were serving him.
na agĩikara kũu werũ-inĩ matukũ mĩrongo ĩna, akĩgeragio nĩ Shaitani. Nake aikaranagia na nyamũ cia gĩthaka, nao araika makamũtungatagĩra.
14 Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the Good News of God,
Thuutha wa Johana gũikio njeera, Jesũ agĩthiĩ Galili akĩhunjagia Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega wa Ngai,
15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is near. Repent, and believe in the Good News."
akiuga atĩrĩ, “Ihinda nĩikinyu, naguo ũthamaki wa Ngai nĩũkuhĩrĩirie. Mwĩrirei mwĩtĩkie Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega!”
16 And passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
Na rĩrĩa Jesũ aathiiagĩra hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia iria rĩa Galili, nĩonire Simoni na mũrũ wa nyina Anderea magĩikia neti ciao iria-inĩ, nĩgũkorwo maarĩ ategi a thamaki.
17 Jesus said to them, "Come, follow me, and I will make you into fishers of people."
Nake Jesũ akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Ũkai, mũnũmĩrĩre, na nĩngamũtua ategi a andũ.”
18 And immediately they left the nets, and followed him.
O rĩmwe magĩtiganĩria neti ciao makĩmũrũmĩrĩra.
19 And going on a little further, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.
20 And immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.
O rĩmwe akĩmeeta, nao magĩtiga ithe wao Zebedi gatarũ-inĩ hamwe na aruti ake a wĩra na makĩmũrũmĩrĩra.
21 And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.
22 And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
Na andũ makĩgegio nĩ ũrutani wake, nĩgũkorwo aamarutaga ta mũndũ warĩ na ũhoti, no ti ta arutani a watho.
23 And just then there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he shouted,
Na rĩrĩ, hĩndĩ o ĩyo kũu thunagogi yao, nĩ kwarĩ na mũndũ warĩ na ngoma thũku, nake akĩanĩrĩra, akiuga atĩrĩ,
24 saying, "What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God."
“Ũrenda atĩa na ithuĩ, wee Jesũ wa Nazarethi? Ũũkĩte gũtũniina? Nĩnjũũĩ wee nĩwe ũ! Wee nĩwe Ũrĩa-Mũtheru-wa-Ngai.”
25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him."
Nake Jesũ akĩmĩkũma na hinya, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Kira na uume thĩinĩ wake!”
26 And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
Ngoma ĩyo thũku ĩkĩmũthukathuka na hinya na ĩkiuma thĩinĩ wake ĩgĩkayaga.
27 And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him."
Andũ acio othe makĩgega mũno nginya makĩũrania atĩrĩ, “Ũndũ ũyũ nĩ ũrĩkũ? Ũyũ nĩ ũrutani mwerũ, wĩ na ũhoti! Nĩ araatha o na ngoma thũku na ikamwathĩkĩra.”
28 And at once the news of him went out everywhere into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.
29 And Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
Na maarĩkia kuuma thunagogi, magĩthiĩ na Jakubu na Johana mũciĩ gwa Simoni na Anderea.
30 Now Simon's mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.
31 And he came and took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them.
32 At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick, and those who were possessed by demons.
33 And all the city was gathered together at the door.
Nao andũ a itũũra othe makĩũngana hau mũrango-inĩ wa nyũmba,
34 And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.
nake Jesũ akĩhonia andũ aingĩ arĩa maarĩ na mĩrimũ mĩthemba mĩingĩ. Ningĩ akĩingata ndaimono nyingĩ, no ndetĩkĩririe ndaimono ciarie tondũ nĩciamũũĩ.
35 And early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.
Rũciinĩ kĩroko tene kũrĩ o na nduma, Jesũ agĩũkĩra akiuma nyũmba agĩthiĩ handũ keheri-inĩ, akĩhoera ho.
36 And Simon and those who were with him followed after him;
Nake Simoni na arĩa maarĩ nao magĩthiĩ kũmwetha,
37 and they found him, and told him, "Everyone is looking for you."
na rĩrĩa maamuonire, makĩanĩrĩra, makĩmwĩra atĩrĩ: “Andũ othe nĩwe maracaria!”
38 And he said to them, "Let us go somewhere else into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason."
Jesũ akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Rekei tuume gũkũ tũthiĩ kũndũ kũngĩ, matũũra-inĩ marĩa me hakuhĩ, nĩguo hunjie o nakuo. Tondũ nĩkĩo ndokire.”
39 And he went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio agĩthiũrũrũka Galili guothe akĩhunjagia thunagogi-inĩ ciao na akĩingataga ndaimono.
40 And a leper came to him, begging him, and knelt down and said to him, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean."
Na mũndũ ũmwe warĩ na mangũ agĩũka kũrĩ we na akĩmũthaitha aturĩtie maru, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ũngĩenda-rĩ, no ũũtherie.”
41 And being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing. Be cleansed."
Nake Jesũ akĩringwo nĩ tha nyingĩ, agĩtambũrũkia guoko gwake akĩhutia mũndũ ũcio. Akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Nĩ ngwenda. Therio.”
42 And immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean.
Na o hĩndĩ ĩyo mũndũ ũcio agĩthirwo nĩ mangũ, akĩhonio.
43 And he strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out,
Nake Jesũ akĩmũkaania na hinya na akĩmwĩra athiĩ,
44 and said to him, "See you say nothing to anyone, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."
ningĩ akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Menya ndũkeere mũndũ o na ũrĩkũ ũhoro ũyũ. No thiĩ ũkeyonanie kũrĩ mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai, na ũrute magongona marĩa Musa aathanĩte nĩ ũndũ wa gũtherio gwaku, ũtuĩke ũira kũrĩ o.”
45 But he went out, and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places: and they came to him from everywhere.
No handũ ha ũguo agĩthiĩ, akĩambĩrĩria kwaria na kũmemerekia ũhoro ũcio. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Jesũ ndacookire kũhota gũtoonya itũũra thĩinĩ akĩonagwo nĩ andũ, no aikaraga na nja kũndũ gũtaarĩ andũ. No andũ no mookaga kũrĩ we moimĩte kũndũ guothe.
