Luke 1
1 Since many have undertaken to set in order a narrative concerning those matters which have been fulfilled among us,
१ज्या गोष्टींची आम्हास पक्की खातरी आहे त्या गोष्टी जे प्रारंभापासून प्रत्यक्ष पाहाणारे व शब्दाचे सेवक होते,
2 even as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word delivered them to us,
२त्यांनी त्या जशा आम्हास सोपवून दिल्या त्या तशाच सांगाव्या म्हणून त्यांविषयीचा वृत्तांत अनुक्रमाने लिहून काढण्याचे काम पुष्कळांनी हाती घेतले आहे.
3 it seemed good to me also, having traced the course of all things accurately from the first, to write to you in order, most excellent Theophilus;
३म्हणून हे थियफिला महाराज, मी सर्व गोष्टींचा मुळापासून चांगला शोध केल्यामुळे मलाही हे बरे वाटले की, या सर्व घटनांविषयीची माहिती आपणाला व्यवस्थित पणे माहिती लिहावी.
4 that you might know the certainty concerning the things in which you were instructed.
४यासाठी की ज्या गोष्टींचे शिक्षण आपल्याला मिळाले आहे त्यांचा निश्चितपणा आपण पूर्णपणे जाणावा.
5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zechariah, of the division of Abijah. He had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.
५यहूदीया प्रांताचा राजा हेरोद याच्या दिवसात, जखऱ्या नावाचा कोणी याजक होता. तो अबीयाच्या याजक घराण्यातील असून त्याची पत्नी अहरोनाच्या वंशातील होती व तिचे नाव अलीशिबा होते.
6 They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.
६ते दोघेही देवापुढे नीतिमान होते आणि प्रभूच्या सर्व आज्ञा व विधीत निर्दोषपणे चालत असत.
7 But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they both were well advanced in years.
७परंतु त्यांना मूल नव्हते कारण अलीशिबा वांझ होती, शिवाय ते दोघेही फार म्हातारे झाले होते.
8 Now it happened, while he was performing the priest's office before God in the order of his division,
८मग असे झाले की, तो आपल्या वर्गाच्या अनुक्रमाने देवापुढे त्याचे याजकाचे काम करत असता,
9 according to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to enter into the temple of the Lord and burn incense.
९याजकांच्या रीतीप्रमाणे परमेश्वराच्या भवनात धूप जाळण्यासाठी चिठ्ठ्या टाकून त्याची निवड करण्यात आली.
10 And the whole crowd of people were praying outside at the hour of incense.
१०आणि लोकांचा सगळा जमाव धूप जाळण्याच्या वेळेस बाहेर प्रार्थना करीत उभा होता.
11 An angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
११तेव्हा परमेश्वराचा दूत, धूपवेदीच्या उजव्या बाजूला उभा असलेला त्याच्या दृष्टीस पडला.
12 Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him.
१२त्यास पाहून जखऱ्या भयभीत झाला.
13 But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zechariah, because your request has been heard, and your wife, Elizabeth, will bear you a son, and you are to name him John.
१३परंतु देवदूत त्यास म्हणाला, जखऱ्या भिऊ नको, कारण तुझी प्रार्थना ऐकण्यात आली आहे आणि तुझी पत्नी अलीशिबा हिच्याकडून तुला पुत्र होईल, तू त्याचे नाव योहान ठेव.
14 You will have joy and gladness; and many will rejoice at his birth.
१४तेव्हा तुला आनंद व उल्लास होईल आणि त्याच्या जन्माने पुष्कळ लोक हर्षित होतील.
15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he must never drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.
१५कारण तो परमेश्वराच्या दृष्टीने महान होईल आणि तो द्राक्षरस किंवा मद्य कधीच पिणार नाही व तो आईच्या गर्भात असतांनाच पवित्र आत्म्याने भरलेला असेल.
16 He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord, their God.
१६तो इस्राएलाच्या संतानांतील अनेकांना, प्रभू त्यांचा देव याच्याकडे वळविण्यास कारणीभूत ठरेल.
17 He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
१७आणि देवासाठी सिद्ध झालेले असे लोक तयार करायला, वडिलांची अंतःकरणे मुलांकडे आणि आज्ञा न मानणार्‍यांना नीतिमानांच्या ज्ञानाकडे वळवून प्रभूसाठी तयार केलेली प्रजा उभी करावयाला तो एलीयाच्या आत्म्याने आणि सामर्थ्याने त्यांच्यापुढे चालेल.
18 Zechariah said to the angel, "How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years."
१८मग जखऱ्या देवदूताला म्हणाला, “हे घडणारच असे मी कशावरुन समजू? कारण मी वृद्ध मनुष्य आहे आणि माझी पत्नीसुद्धा उतारवयात आहे.”
19 The angel answered him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God. I was sent to speak to you, and to bring you this good news.
१९देवदूताने त्यास उत्तर दिले, “मी देवाच्या पुढे उभा राहणारा गब्रीएल आहे आणि तुझ्याशी बोलायला व तुलाही सुवार्ता सांगायला मला पाठविण्यात आले आहे.
20 And look, you will be silent and not able to speak, until the day that these things will happen, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time."
२०पाहा, हे घडेपर्यंत तुला बोलता येणार नाही व तू मुका राहशील कारण माझे शब्द जे योग्यवेळी पूर्णपणे खरे ठरणार आहेत त्या माझ्या शब्दांवर तू विश्वास ठेवला नाहीस.”
21 The people were waiting for Zechariah, and they were wondering why he was delayed in the temple.
२१तेव्हा जखऱ्याची वाट पाहणाऱ्या लोकांस तो परमेश्वराच्या भवनात इतका वेळ का राहिला याचे आश्चर्य वाटले.
22 When he came out, he could not speak to them, and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple. He continued making signs to them, and remained mute.
२२तो बाहेर आल्यावर त्यास त्यांच्याबरोबर बोलता येईना. तेव्हा त्यांना जाणिव झाली की, परमेश्वराच्या भवनात त्याने दृष्टांत पाहिला आहे. तो त्यांना खुणा करत होता परंतु तो तसाच मुका राहीला.
23 It happened, when the days of his service were fulfilled, he departed to his house.
२३मग असे झाले की त्याच्या सेवेचा कालावधी पूर्ण झाल्यावर तो घरी परत गेला.
24 After these days Elizabeth, his wife, conceived, and she hid herself five months, saying,
२४त्या दिवसानंतर त्याची पत्नी अलीशिबा गरोदर राहिली व पाच महिने लपून राहिली, ती म्हणाली,
25 "Thus has the Lord done to me in the days in which he looked at me, to take away my disgrace among people."
२५लोकांमध्ये माझा होणारा अनादर दूर करण्यासाठी प्रभूने माझ्याकडे पाहिले तेव्हा त्याने माझ्यासाठी असे केले.
26 Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
२६अलीशिबेच्या गरोदरपणाच्या सहाव्या महिन्यात देवाने गब्रीएल दूताला गालील प्रांतातील नासरेथ नावाच्या गावी,
27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary.
२७एका कुमारीकडे पाठवले. तिची दाविदाच्या घराण्यातील योसेफ नावाच्या मनुष्याशी मागणी झाली होती आणि त्या कुमारीचे नाव मरीया होते.
28 Having come in, the angel said to her, "Greetings, favored one. The Lord is with you."
२८देवदूत तिच्याकडे येऊन म्हणाला, अभिवादन! तुझ्यावर कृपा झालेली आहे. प्रभू तुझ्याबरोबर आहे.
29 But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered what kind of greeting this might be.
२९परंतु ती त्याच्या शब्दाने अस्वस्थ झाली आणि या अभिवादनाचा अर्थ काय असावा याचे ती नवल करू लागली.
30 The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
३०देवदूत तिला म्हणाला, “मरीये, भिऊ नकोस, देवाने तुझ्यावर कृपा केली आहे.
31 And look, you will conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and will call his name 'Jesus.'
३१पाहा! तू गरोदर राहशील आणि तुला मुलगा होईल त्याचे नाव तू येशू ठेव.
32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father, David,
३२तो महान होईल व त्यास थोर देवाचा पुत्र म्हणतील आणि प्रभू देव त्यास त्याचा पिता दावीद याचे राजासन देईल.
33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. There will be no end to his Kingdom." (aiōn g165)
३३तो याकोबाच्या घराण्यावर सर्वकाळासाठी राज्य चालवील आणि त्याच्या राज्याचा अंत होणार नाही.” (aiōn g165)
34 Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, seeing I am a virgin?"
३४तेव्हा मरीया दूताला म्हणाली, हे कसे होईल? कारण मला पुरूष ठाऊक नाही.
35 The angel answered her, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the holy one who is born will be called the Son of God.
३५देवदूत तिला म्हणाला, पवित्र आत्मा तुझ्यावर येईल आणि थोर देवाचे सामर्थ्य तुझ्यावर सावली करील आणि म्हणून जे पवित्र बाळ जन्मास येईल, त्यास देवाचा पुत्र म्हणतील.
36 And look, Elizabeth, your relative, also has conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.
३६बघ, तुझी नातेवाईक अलीशिबा ही सुद्धा म्हातारपणात गरोदर असून तिला पुत्रगर्भ राहीला आहे आणि जिला वांझ म्हणले जाई तिला आता सहावा महिना आहे.
37 For with God nothing will be impossible."
३७कारण देवाला कोणतीही गोष्ट अशक्य नाही.
38 And Mary said, "See, the handmaid of the Lord; be it to me according to your word." The angel departed from her.
३८मरीया म्हणाली, खरोखर “मी प्रभूची दासी आहे, आपल्या म्हणण्याप्रमाणे मला होवो.” मग देवदूत तिच्यापासून निघून गेला.
39 Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Judah,
३९त्या दिवसात मरीया उठली आणि घाईने यहूदीया प्रांताच्या डोंगराळ भागातील एका नगरात गेली.
40 and entered into the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.
४०तिने जखऱ्याच्या घरात प्रवेश केला आणि अलीशिबेला अभिवादन केले.
41 It happened, when Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, that the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
४१जसे मरीयेचे अभिवादन अलीशिबेने ऐकले तिच्या उदरातील बाळाने उडी मारली आणि अलीशिबा पवित्र आत्म्याने भरली.
42 She called out with a loud voice, and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
४२ती उंच स्वर काढून मोठ्याने म्हणाली, “स्त्रियांमध्ये तू धन्यवादित आहेस आणि तुझ्या पोटचे फळ धन्य आहे.
43 Why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
४३माझ्या प्रभूच्या मातेने मजकडे यावे हा मान मला कोठून?”
44 For look, when the voice of your greeting came into my ears, the baby leaped in my womb for joy.
४४जेव्हा तुझ्या अभिवादनाची वाणी माझ्या कानी पडली, तेव्हा माझ्या उदरातील बाळाने आनंदाने उडी मारली
45 Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of the things which have been spoken to her from the Lord."
४५जिने विश्वास ठेवला ती धन्य आहे, कारण ज्या गोष्टी प्रभूने तिला सांगितल्या त्याची पूर्णता होईल?
46 Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord.
४६मरीया म्हणाली, “माझा जीव प्रभूला थोर मानतो,
47 And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
४७आणि देव जो माझा तारणारा याच्या ठायी माझा आत्मा आनंदीत झाला आहे.
48 for he has looked at the humble state of his servant girl. For look, from now on all generations will call me blessed.
४८कारण त्याने आपल्या दासीची दैन्य अवस्था पाहीली. आतापासून मला सर्व पिढ्या धन्य म्हणतील.
49 For he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
४९कारण जो सर्वसमर्थ आहे त्याने माझ्यासाठी मोठी कामे केली आहेत; आणि त्याचे नाव पवित्र आहे.
50 His mercy is for generations of generations on those who fear him.
५०जे त्याचे भय धरतात त्यांच्यावर त्याची दया पिढ्यानपिढ्या आहे
51 He has shown strength with his arm. He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
५१त्याने त्याच्या हाताने सामर्थ्याची कार्ये केली आहेत; जे गर्विष्ठ अंतःकरणाचे आहेत त्यांची त्याने पांगापांग केली आहे.
52 He has put down princes from their thrones. And has exalted the lowly.
५२त्याने राज्य करणाऱ्यांना त्यांच्या राजासनांवरून ओढून काढले आहे आणि गरीबास उंचावले आहे.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things. He has sent the rich away empty.
५३त्याने भूकेल्यास चांगल्या पदार्थांने तृप्त केले आहे. आणि धनवानास रिकाम्या हाताने परत पाठवले आहे.
54 He has given help to Israel, his servant, that he might remember mercy,
५४दयेपोटी त्याने आपला सेवक इस्राएल याला साहाय्य केले आहे.
५५आपल्या पूर्वजास त्याने सांगितल्याप्रमाणे अब्राहाम व त्याचे संतान यांच्यावरील दया सर्वकाळ स्मरण करावी. त्याने आपला सेवक इस्राएल याला साहाय्य केले आहे.” (aiōn g165)
56 Mary stayed with her about three months, and then returned to her house.
५६अलीशिबेबरोबर तीन महीने राहिल्यानंतर मरीया आपल्या घरी परत गेली.
57 Now the time that Elizabeth should give birth was fulfilled, and she brought forth a son.
५७अलीशिबेची प्रसूतीची वेळ आल्यावर, तिने एका मुलास जन्म दिला.
58 Her neighbors and her relatives heard that the Lord had magnified his mercy towards her, and they rejoiced with her.
५८प्रभूने तिच्यावर मोठी दया केली आहे, हे तिच्या शेजाऱ्यांनी व नातेवाईकांनी ऐकले आणि ते तिच्या आनंदात सहभागी झाले.
59 It happened on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him Zechariah, after the name of the father.
५९मग असे झाले की, आठव्या दिवशी मुलाची सुंता करण्यासाठी ते आले असता, त्याच्या पित्याच्या नावाप्रमाणे ते बाळाचे नाव देखील जखऱ्या ठेवणार होते.
60 His mother answered, "Not so; but he will be called John."
६०परंतु त्याच्या आईने उत्तर दिले, नाही त्याऐवजी त्याचे नाव योहान ठेवायचे आहे.
61 They said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name."
६१ते तिला म्हणाले, तुझ्या नातलगात या नावाचा कोणीच नाही.
62 They made signs to his father, what he would have him called.
६२नंतर त्यांनी त्याच्या वडिलांना हातवारे करून विचारले, याचे नाव काय ठेवावे, अशी तुझी इच्छा आहे
63 And he asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, "His name is John." And they were all amazed.
६३तेव्हा त्याने लिहिण्यासाठी पाटी मागितली आणि, त्याचे नाव योहान आहे, असे लिहीले यावरुन त्या सर्वांना खूपच आश्चर्य वाटले.
64 His mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue freed, and he spoke, blessing God.
६४त्याच क्षणी त्याचे तोंड उघडले व त्याची जीभ मोकळी झाली आणि तो बोलू लागला व देवाला धन्यवाद देऊ लागला.
65 Fear came on all who lived around them, and all these sayings were talked about throughout all the hill country of Judea.
६५तेव्हा सर्व शेजारी भयभीत झाले आणि यहूदीया प्रांताच्या सर्व डोंगराळ प्रदेशात लोक या सर्व गोष्टींबद्दल बोलू लागले.
66 All who heard them laid them up in their heart, saying, "What then will this child be?" The hand of the Lord was with him.
६६जे कोणी हे ऐकले ते प्रत्येकजण मनात विचार करत होते, ते म्हणाले, हे मूल पुढे कोण होणार आहे? प्रभू त्याच्याबरोबर आहे असे त्यांच्या लक्षात आले.
67 His father, Zechariah, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying,
६७त्याचा पिता जखऱ्या पवित्र आत्म्याने भरला आणि त्यानेही भविष्यवाणी केली; तो म्हणाला,
68 "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited and worked redemption for his people;
६८“इस्राएलाचा देव प्रभू, ह्याची स्तुती असो, कारण त्याने आपल्या लोकांची भेट घेतली आणि लोकांची खंडणी भरून सुटका केली.
69 and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David
६९त्याने आपला सेवक दावीद याच्या घराण्यातून आमच्यासाठी सामर्थ्यशाली तारणारा दिला आहे.
७०हे देवाने त्याच्या पवित्र संदेष्ट्यांद्वारे युगाच्या प्रारंभापासून सांगितले होते. (aiōn g165)
71 salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all who hate us;
७१जे आमचे शत्रू आहेत व जे आमचा द्वेष करतात त्यांच्यापासून सुटका करण्याचे अभिवचन त्याने आम्हास दिले.
72 to show mercy towards our fathers, to remember his holy covenant,
७२आमच्या पूर्वजांवर दया दाखविण्यासाठी तो हे करणार आहे व आपल्या पवित्र कराराची आठवण ठेवणार आहे,
73 the oath which he spoke to Abraham, our father,
७३हा करार एक शपथ होती जी त्याने आमचा पूर्वज अब्राहामाला वाहिली.
74 to grant to us that we, being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, should serve him without fear,
७४ती अशी की, तुम्ही आपल्या शत्रूच्या हातातून सोडवले जाऊन,
75 In holiness and righteousness before him all our days.
७५माझ्यासमोर पवित्रतेने व नीतिमत्त्वाने आयुष्यभर माझी सेवा निर्भयपणे कराल, असे मी करीन.
76 And you, child, will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to make ready his ways,
७६हे बालका, तुला परात्पराचा संदेष्टा म्हणतील कारण प्रभूचे मार्ग सिद्ध करण्याकरीता तू त्यांच्यापुढे चालशील.
77 to give knowledge of salvation to his people by the forgiveness of their sins,
७७यासाठी की, त्याच्या लोकांस त्यांच्या पापांच्या क्षमेने तारणाचा अनुभव द्यावा.
78 because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the dawn from on high will visit us,
७८देवाच्या दयेमुळे स्वर्गीय दिवसाची पहाट उजाडेल व मरणाच्या दाट छायेत जे जगत आहेत त्यांच्यावर प्रकाशेल.
79 to shine on those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death; to guide our feet into the way of peace."
७९तिच्याकडून जे अंधारात आहेत व मृत्युच्या छायेत बसले आहेत त्यांना प्रकाश देण्यासाठी आणि आमचे पाय शांतीच्या मार्गास लावण्यासाठी दिवसाचा उदय करून आमची भेट घेईल.”
80 The child was growing, and becoming strong in spirit, and was in the desert until the day of his public appearance to Israel.
८०मग तो मुलगा वाढत गेला आणि आत्म्यात सामर्थ्यशाली झाला. इस्राएल लोकांस प्रकट होण्याच्या दिवसापर्यंत तो अरण्यात राहिला.
