Ezekiel 31

1 It happened in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

十一年の三月の一日にヱホバの言我に臨みて云ふ

2 "Son of man, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: 'Whom are you like in your greatness?

人の子よエジプトの王パロとその群衆に言へ汝はその大なること誰に似たるや

3 Look, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with beautiful branches, and with a forest-like shade, and of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs.

アツスリヤはレバノンの香柏のごとし其枝美しくして生茂りその丈高くして其巓雲に至る

4 The waters nourished it, the deep made it to grow: its rivers ran all around its plantation; and it sent out its channels to all the trees of the field.

水これを大ならしめ大水これを高からしむ其川々その植れる處を環りその流を野の諸の樹に及ぼせり

5 Therefore its stature was exalted above all the trees of the field; and its boughs were multiplied, and its branches became long by reason of many waters, when it shot them forth.

是によりてその長野の諸の樹よりも高くなりその生長にあたりて多の水のために枝葉茂りその枝長く伸たり

6 All the birds of the sky made their nests in its boughs; and under its branches all the animals of the field brought forth their young; and all great nations lived under its shadow.

その枝葉に空の諸の鳥巢をくひ其枝の下に野の諸の獸子を生みその蔭に諸の國民住ふ

7 Thus was it beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters.

是はその大なるとその枝の長きとに由て美しかりき其根多くの水の傍にありたればなり

8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it; the fir trees were not like its boughs, and the plane trees were not as its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like it in its beauty.

神の園の香柏これを蔽ふことあたはず樅もその枝葉に及ばず槻もその枝に如ず神の園の樹の中その美しき事これに如ものあらざりき

9 I made it beautiful by the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied it.'

我これが枝を多してこれを美しくなせりエデンの樹の神の園にある者皆これを羨めり

10 "Therefore thus said the LORD: 'Because you are exalted in stature, and he has set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

是故に主ヱホバかく言ふ汝その長高くなれり是は其巓雲に至りその心高く驕れば

11 I will even deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with him; I have driven him out for his wickedness.

我これを萬國の君たる者の手に付さん彼これを處置せん其惡のために我これを打棄たり

12 Strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: on the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

他國人國々の暴き者これを截倒して棄つ其枝葉は山々に谷々に墮ち其枝は碎けて地の諸の谷川にあり地の萬民その蔭を離れてこれを遺つ

13 On his ruin all the birds of the sky shall dwell, and all the animals of the field shall be on his branches;

その倒れたる上に空の諸の鳥止まり其枝の上に野の諸の獸居る

14 to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neither set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand up on their height, even all who drink water: for they are all delivered to death, to the lower parts of the earth, among human beings who go down to the pit.'

是水の邊の樹その高のために誇ることなくその巓を雲に至らしむることなからんためまた水に濕ふ者の高らかに自ら立ことなからんためなり夫是等は皆死に付されて下の國に入り他の人々の中にあり墓に下る者等と偕なるべし

15 "Thus says the LORD: 'In the day when he went down to Sheol I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained its rivers; and the great waters were stayed; and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him. (Sheol h7585)

主ヱホバかく言たまふ彼が下の國に下れる日に我哀哭あらしめ之がために大水を蓋ひその川々をせきとめたれば大水止まれり我レバノンをして彼のために哭かしめ野の諸の樹をして彼のために痩衰へしむ (Sheol h7585)

16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol with those who descend into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the lower parts of the earth. (Sheol h7585)

我かれを陰府に投くだして墓に下る者と共ならしむる時に國々をしてその墮る響に震動しめたり又エデンの諸の樹レバノンの勝れたる最美しき者凡て水に濕ふ者皆下の國に於て慰を得たり (Sheol h7585)

17 They also went down into Sheol with him to those who are slain by the sword; yes, those who were his arm, that lived under his shadow in the midst of the nations. (Sheol h7585)

彼等も彼とともに陰府に下り劍に刺れたる者の處にいたる是すなはちその助者となりてその蔭に坐し萬國民の中にをりし者なり (Sheol h7585)

18 To whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? Yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower parts of the earth: you shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude,' says the LORD."

エデンの樹の中にありて汝は其榮とその大なること孰に似たるや汝は斯エデンの樹とともに下の國に投下され劍に刺透されたる者とともに割禮を受ざる者の中にあるべしパロとその群衆は是のごとし主ヱホバこれを言ふ
