1 Adam, Seth, Enosh,
| אדם שת אנוש׃ |
2 Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared,
| קינן מהללאל ירד׃ |
3 Hanokh, Methuselah, Lamech,
| חנוך מתושלח למך׃ |
4 Noah. The sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
| נח שם חם ויפת׃ |
5 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
| בני יפת גמר ומגוג ומדי ויון ותבל ומשך ותירס׃ |
6 The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
| ובני גמר אשכנז ודיפת ותוגרמה׃ |
7 The sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.
| ובני יון אלישה ותרשישה כתים ורודנים׃ |
8 The sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
| בני חם כוש ומצרים פוט וכנען׃ |
9 The sons of Cush: Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba, and Dedan.
| ובני כוש סבא וחוילה וסבתא ורעמא וסבתכא ובני רעמא שבא ודדן׃ |
10 Cush became the father of Nimrod; he began to be a mighty hunter on the earth.
| וכוש ילד את נמרוד הוא החל להיות גבור בארץ׃ |
11 Mizraim became the father of Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
| ומצרים ילד את לודיים ואת ענמים ואת להבים ואת נפתחים׃ |
12 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines), and Caphtorim.
| ואת פתרסים ואת כסלחים אשר יצאו משם פלשתים ואת כפתרים׃ |
13 Canaan became the father of Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
| וכנען ילד את צידון בכרו ואת חת׃ |
14 and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, and the Girgashites,
| ואת היבוסי ואת האמרי ואת הגרגשי׃ |
15 and the Hivites, and the Arkites, and the Sinites,
| ואת החוי ואת הערקי ואת הסיני׃ |
16 and the Arvadites, and the Zemarites, and the Hamathites.
| ואת הארודי ואת הצמרי ואת החמתי׃ |
17 The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram. And the sons of Aram: Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
| בני שם עילם ואשור וארפכשד ולוד וארם ועוץ וחול וגתר ומשך׃ |
18 Arpachshad became the father of Kenan, and Kenan became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber.
| וארפכשד ילד את שלח ושלח ילד את עבר׃ |
19 To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
| ולעבר ילד שני בנים שם האחד פלג כי בימיו נפלגה הארץ ושם אחיו יקטן׃ |
20 Joktan became the father of Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
| ויקטן ילד את אלמודד ואת שלף ואת חצרמות ואת ירח׃ |
21 and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
| ואת הדורם ואת אוזל ואת דקלה׃ |
22 and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
| ואת עיבל ואת אבימאל ואת שבא׃ |
23 and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
| ואת אופיר ואת חוילה ואת יובב כל אלה בני יקטן׃ |
24 Shem, Arpachshad, Kenan, Shelah,
| שם ארפכשד שלח׃ |
25 Eber, Peleg, Reu,
| עבר פלג רעו׃ |
26 Serug, Nahor, Terah,
| שרוג נחור תרח׃ |
27 Abram (that is, Abraham).
| אברם הוא אברהם׃ |
28 The sons of Abraham: Isaac, and Ishmael.
| בני אברהם יצחק וישמעאל׃ |
29 These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
| אלה תלדותם בכור ישמעאל נביות וקדר ואדבאל ומבשם׃ |
30 Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,
| משמע ודומה משא חדד ותימא׃ |
31 Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.
| יטור נפיש וקדמה אלה הם בני ישמעאל׃ |
32 The sons of Keturah, Abraham's secondary wife: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba, and Dedan.
| ובני קטורה פילגש אברהם ילדה את זמרן ויקשן ומדן ומדין וישבק ושוח ובני יקשן שבא ודדן׃ |
33 The sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.
| ובני מדין עיפה ועפר וחנוך ואבידע ואלדעה כל אלה בני קטורה׃ |
34 Abraham became the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau, and Israel.
| ויולד אברהם את יצחק בני יצחק עשו וישראל׃ |
35 The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.
| בני עשו אליפז רעואל ויעוש ויעלם וקרח׃ |
36 The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, and Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, Kenaz; and by Timna: Amalek.
| בני אליפז תימן ואומר צפי וגעתם קנז ותמנע ועמלק׃ |
37 The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
| בני רעואל נחת זרח שמה ומזה׃ |
38 The sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.
| ובני שעיר לוטן ושובל וצבעון וענה ודישן ואצר ודישן׃ |
39 The sons of Lotan: Hori, and Hemam; and Timna was Lotan's sister.
| ובני לוטן חרי והומם ואחות לוטן תמנע׃ |
40 The sons of Shobal: Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah, and Anah.
| בני שובל עלין ומנחת ועיבל שפי ואונם ובני צבעון איה וענה׃ |
41 The sons of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Keran.
| בני ענה דישון ובני דישון חמרן ואשבן ויתרן וכרן׃ |
42 The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan. The sons of Dishan: Uz, and Aran.
| בני אצר בלהן וזעון יעקן בני דישון עוץ וארן׃ |
43 Now these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
| ואלה המלכים אשר מלכו בארץ אדום לפני מלך מלך לבני ישראל בלע בן בעור ושם עירו דנהבה׃ |
44 Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.
| וימת בלע וימלך תחתיו יובב בן זרח מבצרה׃ |
45 Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
| וימת יובב וימלך תחתיו חושם מארץ התימני׃ |
46 Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who struck Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Avith.
| וימת חושם וימלך תחתיו הדד בן בדד המכה את מדין בשדה מואב ושם עירו עיות׃ |
47 Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.
| וימת הדד וימלך תחתיו שמלה ממשרקה׃ |
48 Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth-ha-Nahar reigned in his place.
| וימת שמלה וימלך תחתיו שאול מרחבות הנהר׃ |
49 Shaul died, and Baal Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.
| וימת שאול וימלך תחתיו בעל חנן בן עכבור׃ |
50 Baal Hanan died, and Hadad son of Bedad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-Zahab.
| וימת בעל חנן וימלך תחתיו הדד ושם עירו פעי ושם אשתו מהיטבאל בת מטרד בת מי זהב׃ |
51 Hadad died. The chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth,
| וימת הדד ויהיו אלופי אדום אלוף תמנע אלוף עליה אלוף יתת׃ |
52 chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,
| אלוף אהליבמה אלוף אלה אלוף פינן׃ |
53 chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,
| אלוף קנז אלוף תימן אלוף מבצר׃ |
54 chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom.
| אלוף מגדיאל אלוף עירם אלה אלופי אדום׃ |
