Zechariah 8

1 The word of the LORD of hosts came to me.

Depois veio a mim a palavra do Senhor dos exércitos, dizendo:

2 Thus says the LORD of hosts: "I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath."

Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Zelei por Sião com grande zelo, e com grande furor zelei por ela.

3 Thus says the LORD: "I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called 'The City of Truth;' and the mountain of the LORD of hosts, 'The Holy Mountain.'"

Assim diz o Senhor: Voltarei para Sião, e habitarei no meio de Jerusalém; e Jerusalém chamar-se-á a cidade de verdade, e o monte do Senhor dos exércitos monte de santidade.

4 Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Old men and old women will again dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, every man with his staff in his hand for very age.

Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Ainda nas praças de Jerusalém habitarão velhos e velhas; e cada um terá na sua mão o seu bordão, por causa da sua muita idade.

5 The streets of the city will be full of boys and girls playing in its streets."

E as ruas da cidade serão cheias de meninos e meninas, que brincarão nas ruas dela.

6 Thus says the LORD of hosts: "If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my eyes?" says the LORD of hosts.

Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Se isto será maravilhoso aos olhos do resto deste povo naqueles dias, se-lo-á por isso também maravilhoso aos meus olhos? disse o Senhor dos exércitos.

7 Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Look, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;

Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Eis que salvarei o meu povo da terra do oriente e da terra do pôr do sol;

8 and I will bring them, and they will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they will be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness."

E tra-los-ei, e habitarão no meio de Jerusalém; e me serão por povo, e eu lhes serei a eles por Deus em verdade e em justiça.

9 Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Let your hands be strong, you who hear in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets who were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, even the temple, that it might be built.

Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Esforcem-se as vossas mãos, ó vós que nestes dias ouvistes estas palavras da boca dos profetas que estiveram no dia em que foi posto o fundamento da casa do Senhor dos exércitos, para que o templo fosse edificado.

10 For before those days there was no wages for man, nor any wages for an animal; neither was there any peace to him who went out or came in, because of the adversary. For I set all men everyone against his neighbor.

Porque antes destes dias não tem havido soldada de homens, nem soldada de bestas; nem havia paz para o que entrava nem para o que saía, por causa do inimigo, porque eu incitei a todos os homens, cada um contra o seu companheiro.

11 But now I will not be to the remnant of this people as in the former days," says the LORD of hosts.

Mas agora não me haverei eu para com o resto deste povo como nos primeiros dias, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

12 "For the seed of peace and the vine will yield its fruit, and the ground will give its increase, and the heavens will give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.

Porque a semente será prospera, a vide dará o seu fruto, e a terra dará a sua novidade, e os céus darão o seu orvalho; e farei que o resto deste povo herde tudo isto

13 It shall come to pass that, as you were a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Let your hands be strong."

E há de ser, ó casa de Judá, e ó casa de Israel, que, assim como fostes uma maldição entre as nações, assim vos salvarei, e sereis uma benção: não temais, esforcem-se as vossas mãos.

14 For thus says the LORD of hosts: "As I thought to do evil to you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath," says the LORD of hosts, "and I did not repent;

Porque assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Assim como pensei fazer-vos mal, quando vossos pais me provocaram à ira, diz o Senhor dos exércitos, e não me arrependi,

15 so again have I thought in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not be afraid.

Assim tornei a pensar de fazer bem a Jerusalém e à casa de Judá, nestes dias: não temais.

16 These are the things that you shall do: speak every man the truth with his neighbor. Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates,

Estas são as coisas que fareis: falai verdade cada um com o seu companheiro; julgai verdade e juízo de paz nas vossas portas.

17 and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate," says the LORD.

E nenhum de vós pense mal no seu coração contra o seu companheiro, nem ameis o juramento falso; porque todas estas coisas são as que eu aborreço, diz o Senhor.

18 The word of the LORD of hosts came to me.

E a palavra do Senhor dos exércitos veio a mim, dizendo:

19 Thus says the LORD of hosts: "The fasts of the fourth fifth, seventh, and tenth months shall be for the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts. Therefore love truth and peace."

Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: O jejum do quarto, e o jejum do quinto, e o jejum do sétimo, e o jejum do décimo mês se tornará para a casa de Judá em gozo, e em alegria, e em festividades solenes: amai pois a verdade e a paz.

20 Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come;

Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Ainda sucederá que virão os povos e os habitantes de muitas cidades.

21 and the inhabitants of one shall go to another, saying, 'Let us go speedily to entreat the favor of the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts. I will go also.'

E os habitantes de uma irão à outra, dizendo: Vamos andando para suplicar a face do Senhor, e para buscar ao Senhor dos exércitos; eu também irei.

22 Yes, many peoples and strong nations will come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favor of the LORD."

Assim virão muitos povos e poderosas nações, a buscar em Jerusalém ao Senhor dos exércitos, e a suplicar a face do Senhor.

23 Thus says the LORD of hosts: "In those days, ten men will take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, 'We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'"

Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: naquele dia sucederá que pegarão dez homens de entre todas as línguas das nações, pegarão, digo, da aba de um homem judaico, dizendo: Iremos convosco, porque temos ouvido que Deus está convosco.
