< Psalms 84 >

1 [For the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath. A Psalm by the sons of Korah.] How lovely are your dwellings, LORD of hosts.
In finem, Pro torcularibus filiis Core, Psalmus. Quam dilecta tabernacula tua Domine virtutum:
2 My soul longs, yes, yearns for the courts of the LORD. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
concupiscit, et deficit anima mea in atria Domini: Cor meum, et caro mea exultaverunt in Deum vivum.
3 Yes, the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young, near your altars, LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
Etenim passer invenit sibi domum: et turtur nidum sibi, ubi ponat pullos suos. Altaria tua Domine virtutum: rex meus, et Deus meus.
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house. They are ever praising you. (Selah)
Beati, qui habitant in domo tua Domine: in sæcula sæculorum laudabunt te.
5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on a pilgrimage.
Beatus vir, cuius est auxilium abs te: ascensiones in corde suo disposuit,
6 Passing through the Valley of Baca, he makes it into a spring. Yes, the autumn rain covers it with blessings.
in valle lacrymarum in loco, quem posuit.
7 They go from strength to strength. Everyone of them appears before God in Zion.
Etenim benedictionem dabit legislator, ibunt de virtute in virtutem: videbitur Deus deorum in Sion.
8 LORD, God of hosts, hear my prayer. Listen, God of Jacob. (Selah)
Domine Deus virtutum exaudi orationem meam: auribus percipe Deus Iacob.
9 Look, God our shield, look at the face of your anointed.
Protector noster aspice Deus: et respice in faciem Christi tui.
10 For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Quia melior est dies una in atriis tuis super millia. Elegi abiectus esse in domo Dei mei: magis quam habitare in tabernaculis peccatorum.
11 For the LORD God is a sun and a shield. The LORD will give grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.
Quia misericordiam, et veritatem diligit Deus: gratiam, et gloriam dabit Dominus.
12 LORD of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in you.
Non privabit bonis eos, qui ambulant in innocentia: Domine virtutum, beatus homo, qui sperat in te.
