2 Kings 13
1 In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria for seventeen years.
૧યહૂદિયાના રાજા અહાઝયાહના દીકરા યોઆશના કારકિર્દીને ત્રેવીસમા વર્ષે યેહૂના દીકરા યહોઆહાઝે સમરુનમાં ઇઝરાયલ સત્તર વર્ષ સુધી રાજ કર્યું.
2 He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin; he did not depart from it.
૨તેણે યહોવાહની દ્રષ્ટિમાં જે ખોટું હતું તે કર્યું અને નબાટના દીકરા યરોબામનાં પાપો કે જે વડે તેણે ઇઝરાયલ પાસે દુરાચાર કરાવ્યા હતા તેને અનુસરવાનું ચાલુ રાખ્યું. યહોઆહાઝે આવાં કામ કરવાનું ચાલું રાખ્યું.
3 The anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Aram, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, continually.
૩તેથી યહોવાહનો કોપ ઇઝરાયલીઓ પર સળગ્યો, તેઓએ તેઓને ફરીથી અરામના રાજા હઝાએલના અને તેના દીકરા બેન-હદાદના હાથમાં સોંપી દીધા.
4 Jehoahaz begged the LORD, and the LORD listened to him; for he saw the oppression of Israel, how that the king of Aram oppressed them.
૪માટે યહોઆહાઝે યહોવાહને પ્રાર્થના કરી અને યહોવાહે તેની પ્રાર્થના સાંભળી, કેમ કે અરામનો રાજા ઇઝરાયલના લોકો પર જુલમ કરતો હતો, તે તેમણે જોયું હતું.
5 (The LORD gave Israel a savior, so that they went out from under the hand of the Arameans; and the children of Israel lived in their tents as before.
૫માટે યહોવાહે તેના હાથમાંથી ઇઝરાયલને એક મુક્તિ અપાવનાર આપ્યો. અને તેઓ અરામીઓના હાથમાંથી મુક્ત થયા. પછી ઇઝરાયલીઓ અગાઉની જેમ પોતપોતાનાં ઘરોમાં રહેવા લાગ્યા.
6 Nevertheless they did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, with which he made Israel to sin; they walked in them. And the Asherah also remained in Samaria.)
૬તેમ છતાં યરોબામના કુટુંબનાં પાપો જે તેણે ઇઝરાયલ પાસે કરાવ્યાં હતાં તે તેમણે છોડયાં નહિ, પણ તેઓ તે પાપમાં જ ચાલ્યા. સમરુનમાં અશેરાની મૂર્તિ પણ હતી.
7 For he did not leave to Jehoahaz of the people any more than fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Aram destroyed them, and made them like the dust in threshing.
૭અરામીઓએ યહોઆહાઝ પાસે પચાસ ઘોડેસવાર, દસ રથો તથા દસ હજાર સૈનિકો સિવાય બીજું કંઈ રહેવા દીધું નહિ. કેમ કે અરામના રાજાએ તેઓનો નાશ કરીને ખળીના ભૂસા જેવા કરી નાખ્યા હતા.
8 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
૮યહોઆહાઝના બીજાં કાર્યો અને જે બધું તેણે કર્યું તે, તેનું પરાક્રમ, તે બધું ઇઝરાયલના રાજાઓના કાળવૃત્તાંતના પુસ્તકમાં લખેલાં નથી શું?
9 Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his place.
૯પછી યહોઆહાઝ તેના પિતૃઓ સાથે ઊંઘી ગયો, તેઓએ તેને સમરુનમાં દફ્નાવ્યો. પછી તેના દીકરા યોઆશે તેની જગ્યાએ રાજ કર્યું.
10 In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz began to reign over Israel in Samaria for sixteen years.
૧૦યહૂદિયાના રાજા યોઆશના કારકિર્દીને સાડત્રીસમાં વર્ષે, યહોઆહાઝનો દીકરો યોઆશ સમરુનમા ઇઝરાયલ પર રાજ કરવા લાગ્યો, તેણે સોળ વર્ષ રાજ કર્યું.
11 He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin; but he walked in it.
૧૧તેણે યહોવાહની દ્રષ્ટિમાં જે ખોટું હતું તે કર્યું. નબાટના પુત્ર યરોબામનાં પાપો જે વડે તેણે ઇઝરાયલ પાસે પાપ કરાવ્યું હતું, તે તેણે છોડ્યું નહિ પણ તે તેમાં રચ્યોપચ્યો રહ્યો.
12 Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might with which he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
૧૨યોઆશનાં બાકીનાં કાર્યો, જે સર્વ તેણે કર્યું તે, યહૂદિયાના રાજા અમાસ્યા સામે યુદ્ધ કરીને તેણે જે પરાક્રમ બતાવ્યું, તે બધું ઇઝરાયલના રાજાઓના કાળવૃત્તાંતના પુસ્તકમાં લખેલાં નથી શું?
13 Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat on his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
૧૩યોઆશ પોતાના પિતૃઓની સાથે ઊંઘી ગયો, પછી યરોબામ તેના રાજયાસન પર બેઠો. યોઆશને સમરુનમાં ઇઝરાયલના રાજાઓ સાથે દફનાવવામાં આવ્યો.
14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness of which he died: and Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over him, and said, "My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen."
૧૪જ્યારે એલિશા મરણપથારીએ પડ્યો હતો. ત્યારે ઇઝરાયલના રાજા યોઆશે તેની પાસે આવીને રડીને કહ્યું, “હે મારા પિતા! મારા પિતા! જો ઇઝરાયલના રથો તથા તેઓના ઘોડેસવારો!”
15 Elisha said to him, "Take bow and arrows"; and he took to him bow and arrows.
૧૫એલિશાએ તેને કહ્યું, “ધનુષ્ય લે. થોડાં તીર ઉઠાવ,” તેથી યોઆશે ધનુષ્ય અને થોડાં તીર ઉઠાવ્યાં.
16 He said to the king of Israel, "Put your hand on the bow"; and he put his hand on it. Elisha laid his hands on the king's hands.
૧૬પછી એલિશાએ ઇઝરાયલના રાજાને કહ્યું, “તારો હાથ ધનુષ્ય પર મૂક.” એટલે તેણે પોતાનો હાથ તેના પર મૂક્યો. પછી એલિશાએ પોતાનો હાથ રાજાના હાથ પર મૂક્યો.
17 He said, "Open the window eastward"; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, "Shoot." and he shot. He said, "The LORD's arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Aram; for you shall strike the Arameans in Aphek, until you have consumed them."
૧૭એલિશાએ કહ્યું, “પૂર્વ તરફની બારી ઉઘાડ.” તેથી તેણે તે બારી ઉઘાડી. પછી એલિશાએ કહ્યું, “તીર ચલાવ!” તેણે તીર છોડ્યું. એલિશાએ કહ્યું, “આ યહોવાહના વિજયનું તીર, અરામ પરના વિજયનું તીર હતું. કેમ કે તું અરામીઓને અફેકમાં મારીને તેમનો નાશ કરશે.”
18 He said, "Take the arrows"; and he took them. He said to the king of Israel, "Strike the ground"; and he struck three times, and stopped.
૧૮ત્યારે એલિશાએ કહ્યું, “હવે બીજાં તીર લે,” એટલે યોઆશે તે લીધાં. એલિશાએ ઇઝરાયલના રાજાને કહ્યું, “તેનાથી જમીન પર માર.” રાજાએ ત્રણ વાર જમીન પર માર્યું પછી તે અટકી ગયો.
19 The man of God was angry with him, and said, "You should have struck five or six times. Then you would have struck Aram until you had consumed it, whereas now you shall strike Aram just three times."
૧૯પણ ઈશ્વરભક્તે ગુસ્સે થઈને કહ્યું, “તારે જમીન પર પાંચ થી છ વાર તીર મારવાં જોઈએ. જો તેં એમ કર્યું હોત તો અરામીઓનો સંપૂર્ણ નાશ થઈ જાય ત્યાં સુધી તેઓ પર તું હુમલો કરત, પણ હવે તું અરામ પર ફક્ત ત્રણ જ વાર હુમલો કરી શકશે.”
20 Elisha died, and they buried him. Now the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.
૨૦ત્યાર બાદ એલિશાનું મરણ થયું અને તેઓએ તેને દફ્નાવ્યો. હવે વર્ષ શરૂ થતાં મોઆબીઓની ટોળીઓ દેશ પર આક્રમણ કરતી હતી.
21 It happened, as they were burying a man, that look, they spied a band; and they cast the man into the tomb of Elisha: and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
૨૧તેઓ એક માણસને દફનાવતા હતા, ત્યારે તેઓએ મોઆબીઓની ટોળી આવતી જોઈને તે મૃતદેહને એલિશાની કબરમાં ફેંકી દીધો. તે માણસનો મૃતદેહ એલિશાનાં હાડકાંને અડકતાંની સાથે જ તે સજીવન થયો. અને ઊઠીને પોતાના પગ પર ઊભો થઈ ગયો.
22 Hazael king of Aram oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
૨૨યહોઆહાઝના સર્વ દિવસોમાં અરામના રાજા હઝાએલે ઇઝરાયલ પર જુલમ કર્યો.
23 But the LORD was gracious to them, and had compassion on them, and had respect to them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.
૨૩પણ યહોવાહે ઇબ્રાહિમ, ઇસહાક અને યાકૂબ સાથે કરેલા કરારને લીધે તેઓના પર દયા રાખી, કૃપા કરી અને તેઓની કાળજી રાખી. માટે યહોવાહે તેઓનો નાશ કર્યો નહિ અને પોતાની હજૂરમાંથી દૂર કર્યાં નહિ.
24 Hazael king of Aram died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his place.
૨૪અરામનો રાજા હઝાએલ મરણ પામ્યો અને તેના દીકરા બેન-હદાદે તેની જગ્યાએ રાજ કર્યું.
25 Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Joash struck him three times, and recovered the cities of Israel.
૨૫જે નગરો હઝાએલના દીકરા બેન-હદાદે યુદ્ધ કરીને યોઆશના પિતા યહોઆહાઝ પાસેથી જીતી લીધાં હતા. તે યોઆશે તેના હાથમાંથી પાછાં જીતી લીધાં. ઇઝરાયલનાં એ નગરો પાછાં જીતી લેતાં યોઆશે તેને ત્રણ વાર હરાવ્યો હતો.
