Psalms 83
1 [A song. A Psalm by Asaph.] God, do not be silent. Do not be deaf, and do not be inactive, God.
Ó Deus, não estejas em silêncio; não te cales, nem te aquietes, ó Deus.
2 For, look, your enemies make an uproar. Those who hate you are hostile.
Porque eis que teus inimigos fazem tumulto, e os que te aborrecem levantaram a cabeça.
3 They devise crafty plans against your people, and conspire together against your treasured ones.
Tomaram astuto conselho contra o teu povo, e consultavam contra os teus escondidos.
4 They say, "Come, and let us annihilate them as a nation; let the name of Israel may be remembered no more."
Disseram: Vinde, e desarreiguemo-los para que não sejam nação, nem haja mais memória do nome de Israel.
5 For they plot a unified strategy; they make a covenant against you;
Porque consultaram juntos e unânimes; eles se aliam contra ti:
6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab, and the Hagrites,
As tendas de Edom, e dos ismaelitas, de Moab, e dos agarenos,
7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre.
De Gebal, e de Ammon, e de Amalek, de Palestina, com os moradores de Tiro.
8 Assyria too is joined with them; they lend support to the descendants of Lot. (Selah)
Também Assyria se ajuntou com eles: foram ajudar aos filhos de Lot (Selah)
9 Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin at the Kishon River,
Faze-lhes como aos madianitas; como a Sisera, como a Jabin na ribeira de Kison.
10 who were destroyed at Endor, who became manure for the ground.
Os quais pereceram em Endor; tornaram-se como estrume para a terra.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
Faze aos seus nobres como a Oreb, e como a Zeeb e a todos os seus príncipes, como a Zebah e como a Zalmuna;
12 who said, "Let us take possession for ourselves the pastures of God."
Que disseram: Tomemos para nós as casas de Deus em possessão.
13 My God, make them like tumbleweed; like dead weeds blown by the wind.
Deus meu, faze-os como um tufão, como a aresta diante do vento.
14 Like a fire that consumes a forest, and like the flames that consume the mountains,
Como o fogo que queima um bosque, e como a chama que incendeia as brenhas,
15 so pursue them with your gale winds, and terrify them with your storm.
Assim os persegue com a tua tempestade, e os assombra com o teu torvelinho.
16 Cover their faces with shame, so that they might seek your name, Jehovah.
Encham-se de vergonha as suas faces, para que busquem o teu nome, Senhor.
17 Let them be put to shame and terrified forever; let them perish in disgrace,
Confundam-se e assombrem-se perpetuamente; envergonhem-se, e pereçam.
18 that they will know that you alone, whose name is Jehovah, are the Most High over all the earth.
Para que saibam que tu, a quem só pertence o nome de Jehovah, és o altíssimo sobre toda a terra.
