Psalms 68
1 [For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. A song.] Let God arise. Let his enemies be scattered, and let them who hate him flee before him.
Auf den Siegesspender, von David, ein Lied, ein Gesang. Erhebt sich Gott, dann stieben seine Feinde fort, und seine Hasser fliehn vor ihm.
2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
Wie Rauch verschwindet, wenn es stürmt, wie vor dem Feuer Wachs zerschmilzt, also vergehn vor Gottes Angesicht die Frevler.
3 But let the righteous be glad. Let them rejoice before God. Yes, let them rejoice with gladness.
Die Frommen aber freuen sich, vor Gottes Angesicht frohlockend, in Freude, voller Fröhlichkeit.
4 Sing to God. Sing praises to his name. Extol him who rides on the clouds: to JAH, his name. Rejoice before him.
Lobsinget Gott! Singt seinem Namen! Die Bahn macht frei für den, der durch die Wüsten fährt! "Herr" ist sein Name,
5 A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
"der Waisen Vater und der Witwen Anwalt, Gott". Vor ihm in seiner heiligen Wohnung freuet euch!
6 God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land.
Gott bringt Einsame in die Heimat wieder, wenn er die Eingekerkerten in Freiheit setzt. Nur Widerspenstige verbleiben in dem dürren Land.
7 God, when you went forth before your people, when you marched through the wilderness... (Selah)
Gott, als Du auszogst an der Spitze Deines Volkes und durch die Wüste schrittest, (Sela)
8 The earth trembled. The sky also poured down rain at the presence of the God of Sinai—at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
erzitterte die Erde. Der Himmel selbst zerfloß vor Gott dort an dem Sinai vor Gott, dem Gott von Israel.
9 You, God, sent a plentiful rain. You confirmed your inheritance, when it was weary.
Du mögest wieder Regen reichlich niederströmen lassen, Gott, um so Dein mattes Erbland zu erquicken, das am verschmachten!
10 Your congregation lived in it. You, God, prepared your goodness for the poor.
Und Deine Leute, die drin wohnen, mögst Du zur rechten Zeit durch Deine Güte, Gott, versorgen!
11 Jehovah announced the word; a great company of women proclaim the good news.
Der Herr ließ wieder donnern, beschloß der Völkerscharen Heer.
12 "Kings of armies flee. They flee." She who waits at home divides the spoil,
Die Könige der Völker floh'n in wilder Flucht, daß Schwächlinge selbst Beute teilten.
13 while you sleep among the campfires, the wings of a dove sheathed with silver, her feathers with shining gold.
Hinsanken sie auf Düngerstätten, in Kot versteckt, mit Schmach bedeckt, und ihre Reiterscharen in Morast vergraben.
14 When Shaddai scattered kings in her, it snowed on Zalmon.
Als der Allmächtige die Könige zerstreute, da fielen sie in Schauern auf dem Salmon,
15 The mountains of Bashan are majestic mountains. The mountains of Bashan are rugged.
auf diesem hohen Berge, diesem Basansberge. Ein kuppenreicher Berg ist dieser Basansberg.
16 Why do you look in envy, you rugged mountains, at the mountain where God chooses to reign? Yes, Jehovah will dwell there forever.
Warum, ihr kuppenreichen Berge, seid ihr neidisch? Den einen Berg hat Gott zu seinem Sitze sich gewünscht; ja, ihn bewohnt der Herr auf ewig.
17 The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands. Jehovah is among them, from Sinai, in holiness.
Der Reiter Gottes sind's Zehntausende, gar viele Tausende. Bei ihnen ist der Herr, wie einst auf Sinai, so jetzt im Heiligtum. -
18 You have ascended on high. You have led away captives. And you gave gifts to people; but the rebellious will not dwell in the presence of God.
Du zogst zur Höhe, nahmst Gefangene gefangen, empfingest Menschen als Geschenk, die sich gesträubt, an Gott, den Herrn, zu glauben. -
19 Blessed be Jehovah, who daily bears our burdens, even the God who is our salvation. (Selah)
Gepriesen sei der Herr, der täglich für uns sorgt, Gott unsere Hilfe! (Sela)
20 God is to us a God of deliverance. To Jehovah belongs escape from death.
Des Heiles Gott ist Gott für uns. Der Herr, der Herr, hat manchen Ausweg aus dem Tode.
21 But God will strike through the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of such a one as still continues in his guiltiness.
Ja, seiner Feinde Haupt hat Gott zerschmettert, den Haarbuschhelm des Mannes, der in seinen Sünden wandelt.
22 Jehovah said, "I will bring you again from Bashan, I will bring you again from the depths of the sea;
Verkündet hat der Herr: "Die Ausgeschämten hole ich. Ich hole her die aufgeblasenen Schurken,
23 That you may crush them, dipping your foot in blood, that the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from your enemies."
daß blutig kann dein Fuß zertreten, die dich lästerten, in einem Augenblicke die verhaßten Hunde."
24 They have seen your processions, God, even the processions of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.
Da sah man Deinen Zug, o Gott, den meines Gottes, meines Königs, in dem Heiligtum.
25 The singers went before, the minstrels followed after, in the midst of the ladies playing with tambourines,
Vorn an der Spitze zogen Sänger, hinten Saitenspieler her und in der Mitte paukenschlagende Jungfrauen.
26 "Bless God in the congregations, even Jehovah from the fountain of Israel."
Israel lobte seinen Gott in Chören und mit Musik den Herrn.
27 There is little Benjamin, their ruler, the princes of Judah, their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.
Den Takt gab Benjamin, der jüngste. Die Fürsten Judas, Zabulons und Naphtalis, sie klatschten in die Hände. -
28 Your God has commanded your strength. Strengthen, God, that which you have done for us.
Entbiete wiederum, Gott, Deine Macht, von Deinem Tempel aus, die Macht, mit der Du bisher, Gott, für uns gewirkt,
29 Because of your temple at Jerusalem, kings shall bring presents to you.
daß Könige Dir Gaben für Jerusalem darbringen!
30 Rebuke the wild animal of the reeds, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the peoples. Being humbled, may it bring bars of silver. Scatter the nations that delight in war.
Bedroh die Lanzenschar, das Rossevolk, das unter Völkern meist verpflanzte, das zu den Silbergängen sich hinunterläßt! Zerstreu die Völker, die an Kriegen Freude haben!
31 Envoys shall come out of Egypt. Ethiopia shall hurry to stretch out her hands to God.
Gesandte sollen aus Ägypten kommen; zu Gott soll seine Hände Äthiopien ausstrecken!
32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth. Sing praises to Jehovah. (Selah)
Dann singt, ihr Erdenreiche, Gottes Lob! Lobsingt dem Herrn, (Sela)
33 To him who rides on the heaven of heavens, which are of old; look, he utters his voice, a mighty voice.
der durch der Himmel Himmel, den uralten, fährt, der seine Stimme wieder tönen läßt, gar eine mächtige Stimme!
34 Ascribe strength to God. His excellency is over Israel, his strength is in the skies.
Die Ehre gebet Gott, ihm, dessen Hoheit wartet über Israel, und in den Wolken zeigt sich furchtbar seine Macht.
35 You are awesome, God, in your sanctuaries. The God of Israel gives strength and power to his people. Praise be to God.
Von alters ist Gott hocherhaben. Wer gleicht dem Gotte Israels, der Macht verleiht und Kraft dem Volk, das würdig ist des Gottessegens?
