Psalms 132

1 [A Song of Ascents.] Jehovah, remember David and all his affliction,

Ein Stufenlied. - Sei, Herr, zugunsten Davids eingedenk all dessen, was er gesprochen,

2 how he swore to Jehovah, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:

wie er dem Herrn geschworen, dem Starken Jakobs hat gelobt:

3 "Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, nor go up into my bed;

"Ich gehe nimmer in mein Wohngezelt, besteige nicht mein Ruhebett,

4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids;

Versage meinen Augen Schlaf und Schlummer meinen Augenwimpern,

5 until I find out a place for Jehovah, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."

bis daß ich eine Stätte finde für den Herrn, für Jakobs Starken eine Wohnung." -

6 Look, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar:

Nun hörten wir davon zu Ephrat und fanden sie im Waldgefilde.

7 "We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool.

"Zu seiner Wohnung laßt uns gehen, vor seiner Füße Schemel niederfallen!"

8 Arise, Jehovah, to your resting place, you and the ark of your strength.

Auf, Herr, zu Deiner Ruhestätte, Du und die Lade Deiner Herrscherwürde!

9 Let your priest be clothed with righteousness. Let your faithful ones shout for joy."

Mit Heil laß Deine Priester sich bekleiden, und Deine Frommen mögen jubeln! -

10 For your servant David's sake, do not turn away the face of your anointed one.

Um David, Deines Dieners willen, weis nicht zurück, den Du gesalbt!"

11 Jehovah has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: "I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.

Der Herr schwur David Dauer zu. Er geht davon nicht ab. "Auf deinen Thron erheb ich einen von deiner Leibesfrucht.

12 If your children will keep my covenant, my testimony that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forevermore."

Bewahren deine Söhne meinen Bund und meine Zeugnisse, wie ich sie lehre, dann dürfen ihre Söhne allezeit auf deinem Throne sitzen!" -

13 For Jehovah has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling.

Der Herr hat Sion sich erkoren, zum Wohnsitz sich ersehen:

14 "This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it.

"Das sei in Ewigkeit mein Ruhesitz, ich throne hier; denn hier gefällt es mir.

15 I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.

Ich segne seine Jugend und gebe seinen Armen Brot in Fülle.

16 Her priests I will also clothe with salvation. Her faithful ones will shout aloud for joy.

Mit Heil bekleid ich seine Priester, und frohe Lust sei seiner Frommen Teil!

17 There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.

Ich lasse Davids Macht ersprossen, dem richt ich eine Leuchte her, den ich gesalbt.

18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will be resplendent."

In Schande hüll ich seine Feinde, dieweil auf ihm ein Diadem erglänzt."
