Matthew 4
1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
௧அப்பொழுது இயேசு பிசாசினால் சோதிக்கப்படுவதற்கு ஆவியானவராலே வனாந்திரத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward.
௨அவர் இரவும் பகலும் நாற்பதுநாட்கள் உபவாசமாக இருந்தபின்பு, அவருக்குப் பசியுண்டானது.
3 And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."
௩அப்பொழுது சோதனைக்காரன் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: “நீர் தேவனுடைய குமாரனென்றால், இந்தக் கற்கள் அப்பங்களாக மாறும்படிச் சொல்லும்” என்றான்.
4 But he answered and said, "It is written, 'Humankind cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'"
௪அவர் மறுமொழியாக: “மனிதன் அப்பத்தினால்மட்டுமில்லை, தேவனுடைய வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிற ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தையினாலும் பிழைப்பான் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே” என்றார்.
5 Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple,
௫அப்பொழுது பிசாசு அவரைப் பரிசுத்த நகரத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோய், தேவாலயத்தின் உச்சியில் அவரை நிறுத்தி:
6 and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you.' and, 'In their hands they will lift you up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"
௬“நீர் தேவனுடைய குமாரனென்றால் கீழே குதியும்; ஏனென்றால், தம்முடைய தூதர்களுக்கு உம்மைக்குறித்துக் கட்டளையிடுவார்; உமது பாதம் கல்லில் மோதாதபடி, அவர்கள் உம்மைத் தங்களுடைய கைகளில் ஏந்திக்கொண்டுபோவார்கள் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே” என்றான்.
7 Jesus said to him, "Again, it is written, 'Do not test the Lord, your God.'"
௭அதற்கு இயேசு: உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவைச் சோதித்துப்பார்க்காமல் இருப்பாயாக என்றும் எழுதியிருக்கிறதே” என்றார்.
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory.
௮மறுபடியும், பிசாசு அவரை மிகவும் உயர்ந்த மலையின்மேல் கொண்டுபோய், உலகத்தின் எல்லா ராஜ்யங்களையும் அவைகளின் மகிமையையும் அவருக்குக் காண்பித்து:
9 And he said to him, "I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me."
௯“நீர் சாஷ்டாங்கமாக விழுந்து, என்னைப் பணிந்துகொண்டால், இவைகளையெல்லாம் உமக்குத் தருவேன்” என்று சொன்னான்;
10 Then Jesus said to him, "Go away, Satan. For it is written, 'You are to worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"
௧0அப்பொழுது இயேசு: “அப்பாலே போ சாத்தானே; உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்த்தரைப் பணிந்துகொண்டு, அவர் ஒருவருக்கே ஆராதனை செய்வாயாக என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே” என்றார்.
11 Then the devil left him, and look, angels came and served him.
௧௧அப்பொழுது பிசாசு அவரைவிட்டு விலகிப்போனான். உடனே தேவதூதர்கள் வந்து, அவருக்கு பணிவிடை செய்தார்கள்.
12 Now when he heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.
௧௨யோவான் காவலில் வைக்கப்பட்டான் என்று இயேசு கேள்விப்பட்டு, கலிலேயாவிற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனார்.
13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,
௧௩பின்பு, அவர் நாசரேத்தைவிட்டு, செபுலோன், நப்தலி என்னும் நாடுகளின் எல்லைகளிலிருக்கும் கடற்கரைக்கு அருகில் உள்ள கப்பர்நகூமிற்கு வந்து தங்கியிருந்தார்.
14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
௧௪கடற்கரை அருகிலும் யோர்தானுக்கு அப்புறத்திலும் உள்ள செபுலோன் நாடும் நப்தலி நாடுமாகிய யூதரல்லாதவர்களுடைய கலிலேயாவிலே,
15 "The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
௧௫இருளில் இருக்கும் மக்கள் பெரிய வெளிச்சத்தைக் கண்டார்கள்; மரண இருளின் திசையில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு வெளிச்சம் தோன்றினது” என்று,
16 The people sitting in darkness have seen a great light, and those living in the land and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned."
௧௬ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியினால் சொல்லப்பட்டது நிறைவேறும்படி இப்படி நடந்தது.
17 From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
௧௭அதுமுதல் இயேசு: “மனந்திரும்புங்கள், பரலோக ராஜ்யம் அருகில் இருக்கிறது” என்று பிரசங்கிக்கத் தொடங்கினார்.
18 And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
௧௮இயேசு கலிலேயாக் கடலோரமாக நடந்துபோகும்போது, மீனவர்களாக இருந்த இரண்டு சகோதரர்களாகிய பேதுரு என்ற சீமோனும், அவனுடைய சகோதரன் அந்திரேயாவும், கடலில் வலையைப் போட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றபோது, அவர்களைக் கண்டு:
19 And he said to them, "Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of people."
௧௯“என் பின்னே வாருங்கள், உங்களை மனிதர்களைப் பிடிக்கிறவர்களாக ஆக்குவேன்” என்றார்.
20 And they immediately left their nets and followed him.
௨0உடனே அவர்கள் வலைகளைவிட்டு, அவருக்குப் பின்னே சென்றார்கள்.
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them.
௨௧அவர் அந்த இடத்தைவிட்டுப் போகும்போது, வேறு இரண்டு சகோதரர்களாகிய செபெதேயுவின் குமாரர்களான யாக்கோபும், யோவானும் தங்களுடைய தகப்பன் செபெதேயுவோடு படகிலிருந்து, தங்களுடைய வலைகளைப் பழுதுபார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறபோது, அவர்களைக் கண்டு, அவர்களையும் அழைத்தார்.
22 And they immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.
௨௨உடனே அவர்கள் படகையும் தங்களுடைய தகப்பனையும்விட்டு, அவருக்குப் பின்னே சென்றார்கள்.
23 And Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Good News of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
௨௩பின்பு, இயேசு கலிலேயா எங்கும் சுற்றி நடந்து, அவர்களுடைய ஜெப ஆலயங்களில் உபதேசித்து, ராஜ்யத்தின் நற்செய்தியைப் பிரசங்கித்து, மக்களுக்கு உண்டாயிருந்த எல்லா வியாதிகளையும் எல்லா நோய்களையும் நீக்கி குணமாக்கினார்.
24 And the report about him went out into all Syria, and they brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.
௨௪அவருடைய புகழ் சீரியா தேசமெங்கும் பரவியது. அப்பொழுது பலவிதமான வியாதிகளிலும் வேதனைகளிலும் இருந்த எல்லா நோயாளிகளையும், பிசாசு பிடித்தவர்களையும், வலிப்பு நோயாளிகளையும், பக்கவாதக்காரர்களையும் அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவர்களைக் குணமாக்கினார்.
25 And large crowds from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan followed him.
௨௫கலிலேயாவிலும், தெக்கப்போலியிலும், எருசலேமிலும், யூதேயாவிலும், யோர்தானுக்கு அப்புறத்திலுமிருந்து அநேக மக்கள் வந்து, அவருக்குப் பின்னே சென்றார்கள்.
