Matthew 27
1 Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Yeshua to put him to death:
Or le matin étant venu, tous les princes des prêtres et les anciens du peuple tinrent conseil contre Jésus, pour le livrer à la mort.
2 and they bound him, and led him away, and delivered him to Pilate, the governor.
Et l’ayant lié, ils l’emmenèrent, et le livrèrent à Ponce Pilate, gouverneur.
3 Then Yehudah, who betrayed him, when he saw that Yeshua was condemned, felt remorse, and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
Alors Judas, qui l’avait livré, voyant qu’il était condamné, fut touché de repentir et reporta les trente pièces d’argent aux princes des prêtres et aux anciens,
4 saying, "I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood." But they said, "What is that to us? You see to it."
Disant: J’ai péché en livrant un sang innocent. Mais eux lui répondirent: Que nous importe? Vois toi-même.
5 He threw down the pieces of silver in the sanctuary, and departed. He went away and hanged himself.
Alors ayant jeté l’argent dans le temple, il se retira et alla se pendre.
6 The chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, "It's not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood."
Mais les princes des prêtres, ayant pris l’argent, dirent: Il n’est pas permis de le mettre dans le trésor, parce que c’est le prix du sang.
7 They took counsel, and bought the potter's field with them, to bury strangers in.
Et après s’être consultés entre eux, ils en achetèrent le champ du potier, pour la sépulture des étrangers.
8 Therefore that field was called "The Field of Blood" to this day.
C’est pourquoi ce champ est encore aujourd’hui appelé Haceldama, c’est-à-dire le champ du sang.
9 Then that which was spoken through Aramiyah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, "They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him upon whom a price had been set, whom some of the people of Israyel priced,
Alors fut accomplie la parole du prophète Jérémie, disant: Ils ont reçu les trente pièces d’argent, prix de celui qui a été apprécié suivant l’appréciation des enfants d’Israël;
10 and they gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord commanded me."
Et ils les ont données pour le champ du potier, ainsi que me l’a prescrit le Seigneur.
11 Now Yeshua stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Yeshua said to him, "You say so."
Or Jésus comparut devant le gouverneur, qui l’interrogea, disant: Es-tu le roi des Juifs? Jésus lui répondit: Tu le dis.
12 When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
Et comme les princes des prêtres et les anciens l’accusaient, il ne répondit rien.
13 Then Pilate said to him, "Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?"
Alors Pilate lui dit: N’entends-tu point combien de témoignages ils rendent contre toi?
14 He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor was greatly amazed.
Mais il ne répondit à aucune de ses paroles, de sorte que le gouverneur en était extrêmement étonné.
15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the crowd one prisoner, whom they desired.
À un des jours de la fête solennelle, le gouverneur avait coutume de délivrer au peuple un prisonnier, celui qu’ils voulaient.
16 They had then a notable prisoner, called Bar-Aba.
Or il avait alors un prisonnier insigne nommé Barabbas.
17 When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Bar-Aba, or Yeshua, who is called Meshikha?"
Le peuple étant donc assemblé, Pilate dit: Lequel voulez-vous que je vous délivre, Barabbas ou Jésus, qui est appelé Christ?
18 For he knew that because of envy they had delivered him up.
Car il savait que c’était par envie qu’ils l’avaient livré.
19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him."
Or, pendant qu’il siégeait sur son tribunal, sa femme lui envoya dire: Qu’il n’y ait rien entre toi et ce juste; car j’ai beaucoup souffert aujourd’hui dans un songe à cause de lui.
20 Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Bar-Aba, and destroy Yeshua.
Mais les princes des prêtres et les anciens persuadèrent au peuple de demander Barabbas, et de faire périr Jésus.
21 But the governor answered them, "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" They said, "Bar-Aba."
Le gouverneur donc prenant la parole, leur dit: Lequel des deux voulez-vous que je vous délivre? Ils répondirent: Barabbas.
22 Pilate said to them, "What then should I do with Yeshua, who is called Meshikha?" They all said, "Let him be crucified."
Pilate leur demanda: Que ferai-je donc de Jésus appelé Christ?
23 But he said, "Why? What evil has he done?" But they shouted all the louder, saying, "Let him be crucified."
Ils s’écrièrent tous: Qu’il soit crucifié. Le gouverneur leur repartit: Quel mal a-t-il fait? Mais ils criaient encore plus, disant: Qu’il soit crucifié.
24 So Pilate, seeing that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, took water and he washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man. You see to it."
Pilate voyant qu’il ne gagnait rien, mais que le tumulte augmentait, prit de l’eau et se lava les mains devant le peuple, disant: Je suis innocent du sang de ce juste: voyez vous-mêmes.
25 All the people answered, "May his blood be on us, and on our children."
Et tout le peuple répondant, dit: Son sang sur nous et sur nos enfants!
26 Then he released to them Bar-Aba, but Yeshua he flogged and delivered to be crucified.
Alors il leur délivra Barabbas; mais Jésus, après l’avoir fait flageller, il le leur livra pour être crucifié,
27 Then the governor's soldiers took Yeshua into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.
Aussitôt les soldats du gouverneur menant Jésus dans le prétoire, rassemblèrent autour de lui toute la cohorte;
28 They stripped him, and put a scarlet robe on him.
Et, l’ayant dépouillé, ils l’enveloppèrent d’un manteau d’écarlate;
29 They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, "Greetings, King of the Jews."
Puis tressant une couronne d’épines, ils la mirent sur sa tête, et un roseau dans sa main droite; et fléchissant le genou devant lui, ils le raillaient, disant: Salut, roi des Juifs.
30 They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.
Et, crachant sur lui, ils prenaient le roseau, et en frappaient sa tête.
31 When they had mocked him, they took the robe off of him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.
Après qu’ils se furent ainsi joués de lui, ils lui ôtèrent le manteau, le couvrirent de ses vêtements, et l’emmenèrent pour le crucifier.
32 As they came out, they found a man of Qurinaya, Shimon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.
Or, comme ils sortaient, ils rencontrèrent un homme de Cyrène, nommé Simon; ils le contraignirent de porter sa croix.
33 They came to a place called "Gagulta," that is to say, "The place of a skull."
Et ils vinrent au lieu appelé Golgotha, qui est le lieu du Calvaire.
34 They gave him wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.
Là, ils lui donnèrent à boire du vin mêlé avec du fiel; mais lorsqu’il l’eut goûté, il ne voulut pas boire.
35 When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among themselves, casting a lot, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: 'They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they cast a lot.'
Après qu’ils l’eurent crucifié, ils partagèrent ses vêtements, jetant le sort, afin que fût accomplie la parole du prophète, disant: Ils se sont partagé mes vêtements, et sur ma robe, ils ont jeté le sort.
36 And they sat and watched him there.
Puis s’étant assis, ils le gardaient.
37 They set up over his head the accusation against him written, "THIS IS YESHUA, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
Et ils mirent au-dessus de sa tête sa condamnation ainsi écrite: Celui-ci est Jésus, le roi des Juifs.
38 Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.
Alors furent crucifiés avec lui deux voleurs, l’un à droite et l’autre à gauche.
39 Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,
Or les passants le blasphémaient, branlant la tête,
40 and saying, "You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross."
Et disant: Ah! toi qui détruis le temple de Dieu et le rebâtis en trois jours, sauve-toi toi-même. Si tu es le Fils de Dieu, descends de la croix.
41 Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, and the elders, said,
Pareillement les princes des prêtres eux-mêmes se moquant de lui avec les scribes et les anciens, disaient:
42 "He saved others, but he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israyel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.
Il a sauvé les autres, et il ne peut se sauver lui-même: s’il est le roi d’Israël, qu’il descende maintenant de la croix, et nous croirons en lui:
43 He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'"
Il se confie en Dieu; qu’il le délivre maintenant, s’il veut; car il a dit: Je suis le Fils de Dieu.
44 The robbers also who were crucified with him insulted him in the same way.
Or, c’était aussi l’insulte que lui faisaient les voleurs qui étaient crucifiés avec lui.
45 Now from noon until three in the afternoon there was darkness over all the land.
Mais, depuis la sixième heure, les ténèbres se répandirent sur toute la terre jusqu’à la neuvième heure.
46 Then at about three in the afternoon Yeshua called out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema shabachthani?" That is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Et, vers la neuvième heure, Jésus cria d’une voix forte, disant: Eli, Eli, lamma sabacthani? c’est-à-dire: Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m’avez-vous délaissé?
47 Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, "This man is calling Eliya."
Mais quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là, et qui entendaient, disaient: C’est Elie que celui-ci appelle.
48 Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.
Et aussitôt l’un d’eux, courant, prit une éponge, l’emplit de vinaigre, puis la mit au bout d’un roseau, et il lui présentait à boire.
49 The rest said, "Let him be. Let us see whether Eliya comes to save him."
Mais les autres disaient: Laisse, voyons si Elie viendra le délivrer.
50 And Yeshua cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.
Cependant Jésus, criant encore d’une voix forte, rendit l’esprit.
51 And look, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.
Et voilà que le voile du temple se déchira en deux, depuis le haut jusqu’en bas, et la terre trembla, les pierres se fendirent,
52 The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
Les sépulcres s’ouvrirent, et beaucoup de corps des saints qui s’étaient endormis se levèrent;
53 and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.
Et sortant de leurs tombeaux, après sa résurrection, ils vinrent dans la cité sainte, et apparurent à un grand nombre de personnes.
54 Now the centurion, and those who were with him watching Yeshua, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God."
Le centurion et ceux qui étaient avec lui pour garder Jésus, voyant le tremblement de terre et tout ce qui se passait, furent saisis d’une extrême frayeur, et dirent: Vraiment, celui-ci était le Fils de Dieu.
55 Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Yeshua from Galila, serving him.
Il y avait aussi à quelque distance de là beaucoup de femmes qui, de la Galilée, avaient suivi Jésus pour le servir;
56 Among them were Maryam Magdelaitha, Maryam the mother of Yaquv and Yauseph, and the mother of the sons of Zabedai.
Et parmi lesquelles étaient Marie-Madeleine, et Marie, mère de Jacques et de Joseph, et la mère des fils de Zébédée.
57 When evening had come, a rich man from Arimathea, named Yauseph, who himself was also Yeshua's disciple came.
Or, quand il se fit soir, vint un homme riche d’Arimathie, du nom de Joseph, qui, lui aussi, était disciple de Jésus,
58 This man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Yeshua. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given up.
Cet homme vint à Pilate, et lui demanda le corps de Jésus. Alors Pilate commanda que le corps fût remis.
59 Yauseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
Ayant donc reçu le corps, Joseph l’enveloppa dans un linceul blanc;
60 and placed it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock, and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.
Et il le mit dans son sépulcre neuf qu’il avait fait tailler dans le roc. Ensuite il roula une grande pierre à l’entrée du sépulcre, et s’en alla.
61 Maryam Magdelaitha was there, and the other Maryam, sitting opposite the tomb.
Mais Marie-Madeleine et l’autre Marie étaient là, assises près du sépulcre.
62 Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,
Le lendemain, c’est-à-dire le jour d’après la préparation du sabbat, les princes des prêtres et les pharisiens vinrent ensemble vers Pilate,
63 saying, "Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: 'After three days I will rise again.'
Et lui dirent: Seigneur, nous nous sommes rappelé que ce séducteur a dit, lorsqu’il vivait encore: Après trois jours je ressusciterai.
64 Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He is risen from the dead;' and the last deception will be worse than the first."
Commandez donc que le sépulcre soit gardé jusqu’au troisième jour, de peur que ses disciples ne viennent et ne le dérobent, et ne disent au peuple: Il est ressuscité d’entre les morts; et la dernière erreur serait pire que la première.
65 Pilate said to them, "You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can."
Pilate leur dit: Vous avez des gardes; allez, et gardez-le comme vous l’entendez.
66 So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.
Ceux-ci donc s’en allant, munirent le sépulcre, scellant la pierre, et mettant des gardes.
