Luke 19
1 So he entered Jericho and was passing through the town.
A [Jezus] wszedł do Jerycha i przechodził przez nie.
2 There was a man there, called Zaccheus, who was a chief of the tax- gatherers, and was wealthy.
[Był tam] pewien człowiek, imieniem Zacheusz, przełożony celników, a był on bogaty.
3 And he kept trying to see what sort of a man Jesus was; but he could not see because he was short.
Pragnął on zobaczyć Jezusa, kto to jest, lecz nie mógł z powodu tłumu, bo był niskiego wzrostu.
4 So he ran on before him and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him; for he was about to pass that way.
Pobiegł więc naprzód i wszedł na drzewo sykomory, aby go zobaczyć, bo miał tamtędy przechodzić.
5 As soon as Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, "Come down quickly, Zaccheus, for today I must stay at your house."
A gdy Jezus przyszedł na to miejsce, spojrzał w górę, zobaczył go i powiedział: Zacheuszu, zejdź szybko, bo dziś muszę zatrzymać się w twoim domu.
6 He made haste to climb down, and receive him joyfully.
I zszedł szybko, i przyjął go z radością.
7 When they all saw it, they began to complain, saying "He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner."
A wszyscy, widząc to, szemrali: Do człowieka grzesznego przybył w gościnę.
8 But Zaccheus stood up and said to the Lord, "I give half my property to the poor, Lord, and if I have defrauded any man of anything I am restoring it to him fourfold."
Zacheusz zaś stanął i powiedział do Pana: Panie, oto połowę mojego majątku daję ubogim, a jeśli kogoś w czymś oszukałem, oddaję poczwórnie.
9 "Today is salvation come to this house," said Jesus "since Zaccheus here is a son of Abraham.
I powiedział Jezus do niego: Dziś zbawienie przyszło do tego domu, gdyż i on jest synem Abrahama.
10 "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save the lost."
Bo Syn Człowieczy przyszedł, aby szukać i zbawić to, co zginęło.
11 As they were listening to his words he added this parable, because he was near Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was immediately to appear.
A gdy oni tego słuchali, opowiedział im dodatkowo przypowieść, dlatego że był blisko Jerozolimy, a oni myśleli, że wnet ma się objawić królestwo Boże.
12 So he said. "A certain nobleman went abroad to receive for himself royal power and to return.
Mówił więc: Pewien człowiek szlachetnego rodu udał się do dalekiego kraju, aby objąć królestwo, a potem wrócić.
13 "And he summoned ten slaves of his, and gave them ten pounds, and said to them, "‘Trade with these until I come.’
A przywoławszy dziesięciu swoich sług, dał im dziesięć grzywien i powiedział do nich: Obracajcie [nimi], aż wrócę.
14 "But this fellow citizens hated him, and sent a deputation after him to say, ‘We do not wish this man to become our king.’
Lecz jego poddani nienawidzili go i wysłali za nim poselstwo ze słowami: Nie chcemy, aby ten [człowiek] królował nad nami.
15 "And upon his return after he had secured the royal power, he ordered the slaves to whom he had given the money to be called in, so that he might know what they had gained by trading.
A gdy wrócił po objęciu królestwa, rozkazał przywołać do siebie te sługi, którym dał pieniądze, aby się dowiedzieć, co każdy zyskał, handlując.
16 "And the first came before him, saying, ‘Master, your pound has made ten pounds.’
Wtedy przyszedł pierwszy i powiedział: Panie, twoja grzywna zyskała dziesięć grzywien.
17 "And he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave! Because you have been faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’
I powiedział do niego: Dobrze, sługo dobry, ponieważ byłeś wierny w małym, sprawuj władzę nad dziesięcioma miastami.
18 "And the second came and said, ‘Master, your pound has made five pounds.’
Przyszedł też drugi i powiedział: Panie, twoja grzywna zyskała pięć grzywien.
19 "Then he said to him also, ‘You shall be over five cities.’
Również temu powiedział: I ty władaj pięcioma miastami.
20 "And the next came to him and said, ‘Here master is your pound which I was keeping safe in a napkin.
A inny przyszedł i powiedział: Panie, oto twoja grzywna, którą miałem schowaną w chustce.
21 "‘For I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take what you did not sow.’
Bałem się bowiem ciebie, bo jesteś człowiekiem surowym: bierzesz, czego nie położyłeś, i żniesz, czego nie posiałeś.
22 "He said to him, "‘By your own words I will Judge you, you wicked slave. You knew, did you, that I was a hard man taking up what I did not lay down, reaping what I did not sow.
Wtedy mu odpowiedział: Na podstawie twoich słów osądzę cię, zły sługo. Wiedziałeś, że jestem człowiekiem surowym, który bierze, czego nie położył, i żnie, czego nie posiał.
23 "‘Then why did you not put my money into the bank, so that at my coming I might I might have gotten it back with interest?’
Dlaczego więc nie dałeś moich pieniędzy do banku, abym po powrocie odebrał je z zyskiem?
24 "Then to those who stood by, he said, ‘Take the pounds from him and give it to him who has ten pounds.’
Do tych zaś, którzy stali obok, powiedział: Odbierzcie mu grzywnę i dajcie temu, który ma dziesięć grzywien.
25 "‘Master,’ they said to him, ‘he already has ten pounds.’
Odpowiedzieli mu: Panie, ma [już] dziesięć grzywien.
26 "‘I tell you that to every one who has it shall be given; and from him who has not shall be taken away even what he has.
Zaprawdę powiadam wam, że każdemu, kto ma, będzie dodane, a temu, kto nie ma, zostanie zabrane nawet to, co ma.
27 "‘Howbeit these enemies of mine who were not willing for me to become their King, bring them here, and slay them in my presence.’"
Lecz tych moich nieprzyjaciół, którzy nie chcieli, abym nad nimi panował, przyprowadźcie tu i zabijcie na moich oczach.
28 When he had so spoken he went on before, going up to Jerusalem.
A powiedziawszy to, ruszył przodem, zmierzając do Jerozolimy.
29 When he was come near Bethphage and Bethany at the mount called The Olive Orchard,
A gdy przybliżył się do Betfage i Betanii, przy górze zwanej Oliwną, wysłał dwóch ze swoich uczniów;
30 he sent two of his disciples saying. "Go into the village in the front, and on entering it you will find an ass’s colt tied, on which no one has ever ridden.
Mówiąc: Idźcie do wioski, która jest naprzeciwko, a wchodząc do niej, znajdziecie oślątko uwiązane, na którym nigdy nie siedział żaden człowiek. Odwiążcie je i przyprowadźcie.
31 "Untie it and bring it here. And if any one asks you, ‘Why are you untying the colt?’ Simply say, ‘The Master needs it.’"
A gdyby was ktoś spytał: Dlaczego [je] odwiązujecie? tak mu powiecie: Dlatego, że Pan go potrzebuje.
32 Then those who were sent out and found it as he had told them.
Wtedy odeszli ci, którzy zostali posłani, i znaleźli [wszystko], jak im powiedział.
33 For as they were untying the colt, the owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?"
A gdy odwiązywali oślątko, zapytali ich jego właściciele: Dlaczego odwiązujecie oślątko?
34 They answered, "The Master needs it."
A oni odpowiedzieli: Pan go potrzebuje.
35 So they led it to Jesus, and, after throwing their outer garments on the colt, they placed Jesus on it.
I przyprowadzili je do Jezusa, położyli swoje szaty na oślątko i wsadzili [na nie] Jezusa.
36 So he rode on, while they kept throwing their garments in the way.
Kiedy jechał, słali swoje szaty na drodze.
37 And when now he was coming near Jerusalem, and descending the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice, and to praise God with a loud voice for the almighty works they had seen.
A gdy się już zbliżał do podnóża Góry Oliwnej, całe mnóstwo uczniów zaczęło radować się i donośnym głosem chwalić Boga za wszystkie cuda, które widzieli:
38 They cried, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in Heaven and glory in the Highest"
Mówili: Błogosławiony król, który przychodzi w imieniu Pana! Pokój w niebie i chwała na wysokościach!
39 And some of the Pharisees said to them out of the crowd, "Teacher reprove your disciples!"
Lecz niektórzy faryzeusze spośród tłumu powiedzieli do niego: Nauczycielu, zgrom swoich uczniów.
40 "I tell you," he answered, "that if these should hold their peace, the very stones would cry out."
A on im odpowiedział: Mówię wam, jeśli oni będą milczeć, wnet kamienie będą wołać.
41 And when he came into view of the city, as he approached it he broke into loud weeping,
A gdy się przybliżył i zobaczył miasto, zapłakał nad nim;
42 exclaiming. "Oh that at this time you knew, yes, even you, on what your peace depends! But now it is hidden from your eyes.
Mówiąc: O gdybyś i ty poznało, przynajmniej w tym twoim dniu, co służy twemu pokojowi! Lecz teraz zakryte jest [to] przed twoimi oczami.
43 "The time will come for you when your enemies will throw ramparts around you, and encompass you, and shut you in on every side, and raze you to the ground,
Przyjdą bowiem na ciebie dni, gdy twoi nieprzyjaciele otoczą cię wałem, oblegną cię i ścisną zewsząd.
44 "you and your children within you. And they will not leave in you one stone upon the another. Because you knew not the time of your visitation."
Zrównają z ziemią ciebie i twoje dzieci, [które są] w tobie, i nie zostawią w tobie kamienia na kamieniu, dlatego żeś nie poznało czasu twego nawiedzenia.
45 Then Jesus went into the Temple and began to drive out dealers,
A gdy wszedł do świątyni, zaczął wyganiać tych, którzy w niej sprzedawali i kupowali;
46 saying, "It is written, "The house of God shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of robbers."
Mówiąc im: Jest napisane: Mój dom jest domem modlitwy, a wy zrobiliście z niego jaskinię zbójców.
47 Day after day he continued to teach in the Temple. The high priests and scribes tried to have him put to death, so did the rulers of the people.
I nauczał każdego dnia w świątyni. Naczelni kapłani zaś i uczeni w Piśmie oraz przywódcy ludu szukali [sposobności], aby go zabić;
48 But they could not find how to do it, for the people all hung upon him, listening to him.
Ale nie wiedzieli, co mogliby zrobić, bo wszyscy ludzie słuchali [go] z zapartym tchem.
