< Numbers 4 >

1 And YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
Pea naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kia Mōsese mo ʻElone, ʻo pehē,
2 “Take a census of the sons of Kohath from the midst of the sons of Levi, by their families, by the house of their fathers;
Mo lau ʻae ngaahi foha ʻo Kohate mei he ngaahi foha ʻo Livai, ʻi honau ngaahi faʻahinga, ʻo fakatatau ki he fale ʻo ʻenau ngaahi tamai,
3 from a son of thirty years and upward, even until a son of fifty years, everyone going in to the host, to do work in the Tent of Meeting.
Mei he taʻu ʻe tolungofulu ʻo fai hake, ʻio, ʻo aʻu ki he taʻu ʻe nimangofulu, ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku ʻalu ki he tau, ke fai ʻae ngāue ʻi he fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai.
4 This [is] the service of the sons of Kohath in the Tent of Meeting [for] the most holy things:
Pea ko e ngāue eni ʻae ngaahi foha ʻo Kohate ʻi he fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai, ʻi he ngaahi meʻa toputapu.
5 when Aaron and his sons have come in, in the journeying of the camp, and have taken down the veil of the hanging, and have covered the Ark of the Testimony with it,
Pea ʻoka hiki atu ʻae ʻapitanga, ʻe haʻu ʻa ʻElone, mo hono ngaahi foha, kenau vete hifo ʻae fakapulonga, ʻo ʻuʻufi ʻaki ia ʻae puha ʻoe fuakava:
6 then they have put a covering of tachash skin on it, and have spread a garment completely of blue above, and have placed its poles.
Pea ʻe tuku ki ai ʻae kiliʻi pasia ke ʻuʻufi ʻaki ia, pea ʻe ʻufiʻufi ʻaki ia ʻae kofu lanumoana, pea ʻe ʻai ki ai hono ʻakau haʻamo.
7 And they spread a garment of blue over the table of the presence, and have put the dishes, and the spoons, and the bowls, and the cups of the drink-offering on it, and the bread of continuity is on it,

9 and have taken a garment of blue, and have covered the lampstand of the lamp, and its lights, and its snuffers, and its snuff-dishes, and all its oil vessels with which they minister to it;
Pea tenau ʻave ʻae kofu lanumoana, ʻo ʻuʻufi ʻaki ʻae tuʻunga maama, mo hono ngaahi foʻi maama, mo hono ngaahi hikofi, mo e ngaahi tukuʻanga ʻoe maama helekosi, pea mo e ipu lolo kotoa pē, ʻaia ʻoku nau ngāueʻaki ki ai:
10 and they have put it and all its vessels into a covering of tachash skin, and have put [it] on the bar.
Pea tenau tuku ia mo hono ngaahi ipu kotoa pē ke ʻuʻufi ʻaki ʻae kiliʻi pasia, pea ʻe tuku ia ki ha fata.
11 And they spread a garment of blue over the golden altar, and have covered it with a covering of tachash skin, and have placed its poles,
Pea tenau faliki ʻaki ʻae feilaulauʻanga koula ʻae kofu lanumoana, pea toe ʻuʻufi ʻaki ia ʻae kiliʻi pasia, pea ʻe tuku ki ai hono ʻakau haʻamo.
12 and have taken all the vessels of ministry with which they minister in the holy place, and have put [them] into a garment of blue, and have covered them with a covering of tachash skin, and have put [them] on the bar,
Pea tenau toʻo ai ʻae nāunau kotoa pē ʻoe ngāue, ʻaia ʻoku nau ngāueʻaki ʻi he faletapu, pea ʻe tuku ia ki ha kofu lanumoana, pea ʻe ʻuʻufi ʻaki ia ʻae pulonga kiliʻi pasia, pea ʻe tuku ia ki ha fata.
13 and have removed the ashes of the altar, and have spread a garment of purple over it,
Pea tenau ʻave ʻae efuefu mei he feilaulauʻanga, pea ʻe ʻuʻufi ʻaki ia ʻae kofu paʻuhiʻuhi:
14 and have put on it all its vessels with which they minister on it—the censers, the hooks, and the shovels, and the bowls, all the vessels of the altar—and have spread a covering of tachash skin on it, and have placed its poles.
Pea tenau tuku ki ai hono ngaahi ipu kotoa pē, ʻaia ʻoku nau ngāueʻaki ki ai, ʻio, ʻae ngaahi ipu ʻaiʻanga afi, mo e ngaahi huhu, pea mo e ngaahi huo, pea mo e ngaahi ipu luoluo, ko e ngaahi ipu kotoa pē ʻoe feilaulauʻanga; pea tenau ʻuʻufi ʻaki ia ʻae kiliʻi pasia, pea tuku ki ai hono ʻakau haʻamo.
15 And Aaron has finished—his sons also—covering the holy place, and all the vessels of the holy place, in the journeying of the camp, and afterward the sons of Kohath come in to carry [it], and they do not come to the holy thing, lest they have died; these [things are] the burden of the sons of Kohath in the Tent of Meeting.
Pea ka fakaʻosi ʻe ʻElone mo hono ngaahi foha ʻae fakapulonga ʻoe faletapu, pea mo hono ngaahi nāunau kotoa pē, pea ka hiki atu ʻae ʻapitanga; ʻe toki haʻu ʻae ngaahi foha ʻo Kohate ʻo fata ia: kaeʻoua naʻa nau ala ki ha meʻa tapu, telia naʻa nau mate ai. Ko e ngaahi meʻa ni ko e kavenga ia ʻae ngaahi foha ʻo Kohate ʻi he fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai.
16 And the oversight of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, [is] the oil of the lamp, and the spice-incense, and the present of continuity, and the anointing oil, the oversight of all the Dwelling Place and of all that [is] in it, in the sanctuary and in its vessels.”
Pea ko e ngāue ʻa ʻEliesa ko e foha ʻo ʻElone ko e taulaʻeiki, ko e lolo ki he maama, pea mo e meʻa namu kakala, pea mo e feilaulau meʻakai ʻoe ʻaho, pea mo e lolo ʻoe fakanofo, pea mo e pule ʻoe fale fehikitaki, pea mo e ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē ʻi ai, ʻi he faletapu, pea mo hono ngaahi nāunau ʻo ia.
17 And YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
Pea naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kia Mōsese mo ʻElone, ʻo pehē,

“ʻOua naʻa mo vaheʻi ʻae faʻahinga ʻoe ngaahi fānau ʻa Kohate mei he kau Livai:
19 but do this for them, and they have lived and do not die in their drawing near [to] the Holy of Holies: Aaron and his sons go in, and have set them, each man to his service, and to his burden,
Ka ko eni ia te mou fai kiate kinautolu, koeʻuhi kenau moʻui, pea ʻikai mate, ʻoka nau ka haʻu ki he ngaahi meʻa toputapu: ʻe ʻalu ʻa ʻElone mo hono ngaahi foha ʻo tuʻutuʻuni kiate kinautolu taki taha ʻenau ngāue mo ʻenau kavenga:
20 and they do not go in to see when the holy thing is swallowed, lest they have died.”
Ka ʻe ʻikai tenau hū atu ke mamata ʻoka ʻuʻufi ʻae ngaahi meʻa toputapu, telia naʻa nau mate.”
21 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,

Ke ke lau foki ʻae ngaahi foha ʻo Kesoni, ʻi he fale ʻo ʻenau ngaahi tamai, ʻo fakatatau mo ʻenau ngaahi fānau;
23 from a son of thirty years and upward, until a son of fifty years, you number them—everyone who is going in to serve the host, to do the service in the Tent of Meeting.
Ke ke lau ʻakinautolu mei he tolungofulu taʻu ʻo aʻu ki he taʻu ʻe nimangofulu; ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku hū ke fai ʻae ngāue, ke fai ʻae ngāue ʻi he fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai.
24 This [is] the service of the families of the Gershonite, to serve and for burden:
Pea ko e ngāue eni ʻae faʻahinga ʻoe kau Kesoni, ke tauhi, mo kavenga ʻaki:
25 and they have carried the curtains of the Dwelling Place, and the Tent of Meeting, its covering, and the covering of the tachash [skin] which [is] on it above, and the veil at the opening of the Tent of Meeting,
Pea tenau fua ʻae ngaahi puipui ʻoe fale fehikitaki, pea mo e fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai, ko hono fakapulonga, pea mo e ʻuʻufi kiliʻi pasia ʻoku ʻuʻufi ʻaki ia, pea mo e puipui ʻoe matapā ʻoe fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai,

Pea ko e fakahā eni ʻo ʻenau kavenga, ʻo fakatatau ki heʻenau ngāue kotoa pē ʻi he fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai; ko e ngaahi laupapa ʻoe fale fehikitaki, pea mo hono ngaahi ʻakau fakamaʻu, pea mo hono ngaahi pou, pea mo hono ngaahi tuʻungaʻi pou,
