< Exodus 21 >

1 And these [are] the judgments which you set before them:
Ary izao no lalàna izay hataonao eo anatrehany:
2 When you buy a Hebrew servant, he serves [for] six years, and in the seventh he goes out as a freeman for nothing;
Raha mividy andevo Hebreo ianao, dia enin-taona no hanompoany, ary amin’ ny taona fahafito dia hiala ho afaka fotsiny izy.
3 if he comes in by himself, he goes out by himself; if he [is] owner of a wife, then his wife has gone out with him;
Raha izy irery ihany no miditra, dia izy irery hany no hiala; fa raha manam-bady izy, dia hiala hiaraka aminy koa ny vadiny.
4 if his lord gives a wife to him, and she has borne sons or daughters to him—the wife and her children are her lord’s, and he goes out by himself.
Raha manome vady azy ny tompony, ka miteraka zazalahy na zazavavy aminy izy, dia ho an’ ny tompony ihany ny vadiny sy ny zanany, fa izy irery ihany no hiala.
5 And if the servant really says: I have loved my lord, my wife, and my sons—I do not go out free,
Fa raha milaza marimarina ilay andevo ka manao hoe: Tsy foiko ny tompoko sy ny vadiko ary ny zanako, ka tsy te-ho afaka aho,
6 then his lord has brought him near to God, and has brought him near to the door, or to the doorpost, and his lord has bored his ear with an awl, and he has served him for all time.
dia ho entin’ ny tompony ho eo anatrehan’ Andriamanitra izy, ary dia ho entiny ho eo amin’ ny varavarana, na ho eo amin’ ny tolam-baravarana, ka hotevehin’ ny tompony amin’ ny haolo ny sofiny; dia hanompo azy mandrakizay izy.
7 And when a man sells his daughter for a handmaid, she does not go out according to the going out of the menservants;
Ary raha misy mivaro-janakavavy ho vaditsindranon’ olona, dia tsy mba ho tahaka ny fialan’ ny andevolahy ho afaka no fialany.
8 if [it is] evil in the eyes of her lord, so that he has not betrothed her, then he has let her be ransomed; he has no power to sell her to a strange people, in his dealing treacherously with her.
Fa raha tsy ankasitrahan’ ny tompony, izay nikasa hanambady azy, ravehivavy, dia havelany havotana ihany izy; tsy hahazo mivarotra azy ho any amin’ ny firenena hafa izy, satria efa namitaka azy.
9 And if he betroths her to his son, he does to her according to the right of daughters.
Ary raha mamofo azy ho vadin’ ny zananilahy izy, dia araka ny fitondra zanakavavy no hataony aminy.
10 If he takes another [woman] for him, he does not withdraw her food, her covering, and her habitation;
Ary raha maka vehivavy hafa ho vadiny izy, dia tsy hahenany ny fihinany sy ny fitafiany ary ny fombam-panambadiany.
11 and if he does not do these three for her, then she has gone out for nothing, without money.
Ary raha tsy hataony aminy izany zavatra telo loha izany, dia hiala ho afaka fotsiny ravehivavy, fa tsy handoa vola.
12 He who strikes a man so that he has died is certainly put to death;
Izay mamely olona ka mahafaty azy dia hatao maty tokoa;
13 as for him who has not laid wait, but God has brought [him] to his hand, I have even set a place for you to where he flees.
fa izay tsy manotrika, fa Andriamanitra no manolotra azy eo an-tànany, dia hanendry ho anareo fitoerana izay handosirany Aho.
14 And when a man presumes against his neighbor to slay him with subtlety, you take him from My altar to die.
Ary raha misy olona avy sahisahy amin’ ny namany hamono azy amin’ ny fahafetsena, dia halainao izy, na dia eo amin’ ny alitarako aza, mba hovonoina ho faty.
15 And he who strikes his father or his mother is certainly put to death.
Ary izay mamely ny rainy na ny reniny dia hatao maty tokoa.
16 And he who steals a man, and has sold him, and he has been found in his hand, is certainly put to death.
Ary izay mangalatra olona, na efa namidiny, na mbola hita eo an-tànany ihany ilay nangalariny, dia hatao maty tokoa.
17 And he who is reviling his father or his mother is certainly put to death.
Ary izay manozona ny rainy na ny reniny dia hatao maty tokoa.
18 And when men contend, and a man has struck his neighbor with a stone, or with the fist, and he does not die, but has fallen on the bed;
Ary raha misy olona mifanditra, ka ny anankiray mamely ny namany amin’ ny vato, na amin’ ny totohondry, koa tsy maty izy, fa marary ambany tsihy,
19 if he rises, and has gone up and down outside on his staff, then the striker has been acquitted; he only gives [for] his cessation, and he is thoroughly healed.
raha afa-mitsangana indray ka mandehandeha mitehina eny ala-trano izy, dia ho afa-tsiny ilay namely azy; kanefa handoa ny hevitr’ andro tsy nanaovany zavatra izy sady hitsabo azy mandra-pahasitrany.
20 And when a man strikes his manservant or his handmaid with a rod, and he has died under his hand—he is certainly avenged;
Ary raha misy olona mikapoka ny andevolahiny na ny andevovaviny amin’ ny tsorakazo ka mahafaty azy eo am-pikapohana, dia hovaliana tokoa izy.
21 only if he remains a day, or two days, he is not avenged, for he [is] his money.
Kanefa raha mbola velona maharitra indray andro na indroa andro izy, dia tsy hovaliana ilay tompony; fa hareny ihany izy.
22 And when men strive, and have struck a pregnant woman, and her children have come out, and there is no harm [to them], he is certainly fined as the husband of the woman lays on him, and he has given through the judges;
Ary raha misy olona mifanditra ka mandratra vehivavy manan’ anaka, ka teraka tsy tonga volana ny zanany, kanefa tsy misy maninona, dia hosazina tokoa ilay olona araka izay hanaovan’ ny vadin-dravehivavy azy; ary handoa araka izay handidian’ ny mpitsara izy.
23 and if there is harm [to them], then you have given life for life,
Fa raha misy maninona kosa, dia hanome aina solon’ ny aina ianao,
24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
maso solon’ ny maso, nify solon’ ny nify, tanana solon’ ny tanana, tongotra solon’ ny tongotra,
25 burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
may solon’ ny may, ratra solon’ ny ratra, mivatra solon’ ny mivatra.
26 And when a man strikes the eye of his manservant, or the eye of his handmaid, and has destroyed it, he sends him away as a freeman for his eye;
Ary raha misy olona mamely ny mason’ ny andevolahiny na ny mason’ ny andevovaviny ka mahasimba azy, dia halefany ho afaka izy noho ny masony.
27 and if he knocks out a tooth of his manservant or a tooth of his handmaid, he sends him away as a freeman for his tooth.
Ary raha ny nifin’ ny andevolahy na ny andevovavy no afany, dia halefany ho afaka koa izy noho ny nifiny.
28 And when an ox gores man or woman, and they have died, the ox is certainly stoned, and his flesh is not eaten, and the owner of the ox [is] acquitted;
Ary raha misy omby manoto lehilahy na vehivavy ka mahafaty azy, dia hotoraham-bato tokoa ny omby, ary tsy hohanina ny henany; ary ny tompon’ ilay omby dia ho afa-tsiny.
29 and if the ox is [one] accustomed to gore before, and it has been testified to its owner, and he does not watch it, and it has put to death a man or woman, the ox is stoned, and its owner is also put to death.
Fa raha omby efa zatra nanoto hatramin’ ny teo aloha iny, sady efa nambara tamin’ ny tompony izany, nefa izy no tsy niaro azy, koa nahafaty lehilahy na vehivavy ny omby, dia hotoraham-bato ny omby, ary ny tompony koa hovonoina.
30 If atonement is laid on him, then he has given the ransom of his life, according to all that is laid on him;
Raha sazina izy, dia handoa vidin’ aina araka izay sazy atao aminy.
31 whether it gores a son or gores a daughter, according to this judgment it is done to him.
Raha manoto zazalahy na zazavavy ny omby, dia araka izany lalàna izany koa no hanaovana azy.
32 If the ox gores a manservant or a handmaid, he gives thirty silver shekels to their lord, and the ox is stoned.
Raha manoto andevolahy na andevovavy izy, dia homena sekely volafotsy telo-polo ny tompon’ andevo, ary ny omby hotoraham-bato.
33 And when a man opens a pit, or when a man digs a pit, and does not cover it, and an ox or donkey has fallen [in] there—
Ary raha misy olona manokatra lavaka, na raha misy olona mihady lavaka, ka tsy rakofany, ary misy omby na boriky latsaka ao,
34 the owner of the pit repays, he gives back money to its owner, and the dead is his.
dia hanonitra azy ny tompon-davaka, ka vola no haloany ho an’ ny tompony; ary ny maty dia ho azy.
35 And when a man’s ox strikes the ox of his neighbor and it has died, then they have sold the living ox, and halved its money, and they also halve the dead one;
Ary raha misy ombin’ olona mandratra ny ombin’ ny namany ka mahafaty azy, dia hamidiny ny omby velona, ka hozarainy ny vola vidiny; ary ny maty koa hozarainy.
36 or, [if] it has been known that the ox is [one] accustomed to gore before, and its owner does not watch it, he certainly repays ox for ox, and the dead is his.
Kanefa raha fantatra fa omby zatra nanoto hatramin’ ny teo aloha iny, koa tsy niaro azy ny tompony, dia hanonitra omby ho solon’ ny omby tokoa izy; ary ny maty dia ho azy.
