1 Samuel 9
1 And there is a man of Benjamin, and his name [is] Kish, son of Abiel, son of Zeror, son of Bechorath, son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of valor,
और बिनयमीन के क़बीले का एक शख़्स था जिसका नाम क़ीस, बिन अबीएल, बिन सरोर, बिन बकोरत, बिन अफ़ीख़ था वह एक बिनयमीनी का बेटा और ज़बरदस्त सूरमा था।
2 and he has a son, and his name [is] Saul, a choice youth and handsome, and there is not a man among the sons of Israel more handsome than he—from his shoulder and upward, higher than any of the people.
उसका एक जवान और ख़ूबसूरत बेटा था जिसका नाम साऊल था, और बनी — इस्राईल के बीच उससे ख़ूबसूरत कोई शख़्स न था। वह ऐसा लम्बा था कि लोग उसके कंधे तक आते थे।
3 And the donkeys of Kish, father of Saul, are lost, and Kish says to his son Saul, “Now take one of the young men with you, and rise, go, seek the donkeys.”
और साऊल के बाप क़ीस के गधे खो गए, इसलिए क़ीस ने अपने बेटे साऊल से कहा, “कि नौकरों में से एक को अपने साथ ले और उठ कर गधों को ढूँड ला।”
4 And he passes over through the hill-country of Ephraim, and passes over through the land of Shalisha, and they have not found [them]; and they pass over through the land of Shaalim, and they are not; and he passes over through the land of Benjamin, and they have not found [them].
इसलिए वह इफ़्राईम के पहाड़ी मुल्क और सलीसा की सर ज़मीन से होकर गुज़रा, लेकिन वह उनको न मिले। तब वह सा'लीम की सर ज़मीन में गए और वह वहाँ भी न थे, फिर वह बिनयमीनी के मुल्क में आए लेकिन उनको वहाँ भी न पाया।
5 They have come to the land of Zuph, and Saul has said to his young man who [is] with him, “Come, and we return, lest my father leave off from the donkeys, and has been sorrowful for us.”
जब वह सूफ़ के मुल्क में पहुँचे तो साऊल अपने नौकर से जो उसके साथ था कहने लगा, “आ हम लौट जाएँ, ऐसा न हो कि मेरा बाप गधों की फ़िक्र छोड़ कर हमारी फ़िक्र करने लगे।”
6 And he says to him, “Now behold, a man of God [is] in this city, and the man is honored; all that he speaks certainly comes; now, we go there, it may be he declares to us our way on which we have gone.”
उसने उससे कहा, “देख इस शहर में खुदा एक नबी है जिसकी बड़ी 'इज़्ज़त होती है, जो कुछ वह कहता है, वह सब ज़रूर ही पूरा होता है। इसलिए हम उधर चलें, शायद वह हमको बता दे कि हम किधर जाएँ।”
7 And Saul says to his young man, “And behold, we go, and what do we bring to the man? For the bread has gone from our vessels, and there is no present to bring to the man of God—what [is] with us?”
साऊल ने अपने नौकर से कहा, “लेकिन देख अगर हम वहाँ चलें तो उस शख़्स के लिए क्या लेते जाएँ? रोटियाँ तो हमारे तोशेदान की हो चुकीं और कोई चीज़ हमारे पास है नहीं, जिसे हम उस नबी को पेश करें हमारे पास है किया?”
8 And the young man adds to answer Saul and says, “Behold, there is found a fourth of a shekel of silver with me: and I have given to the man of God, and he has declared our way to us.”
नौकर ने साऊल को जवाब दिया, “देख, पाव मिस्क़ाल चाँदी मेरे पास है, उसी को मैं उस नबी को दूँगा ताकि वह हमको रास्ता बता दे।”
9 Formerly in Israel, thus said the man in his going to seek God: “Come and we go to the seer.” For the “prophet” of today is formerly called “the seer.”
अगले ज़माने में इस्राईलियों में जब कोई शख़्स ख़ुदा से मशवरा करने जाता तो यह कहता था, कि आओ, हम ग़ैबबीन के पास चलें, क्यूँकि जिसको अब नबी कहतें हैं, उसको पहले ग़ैबबीन कहते थे।
10 And Saul says to his young man, “Your word [is] good; come, we go”; and they go to the city where the man of God [is].
तब साऊल ने अपने नौकर से कहा, तू ने क्या ख़ूब कहा, आ हम चलें इस लिए वह उस शहर को जहाँ वह नबी था चले।
11 They are going up in the ascent of the city, and have found young women going out to draw water, and say to them, “Is the seer in this [place]?”
और उस शहर की तरफ़ टीले पर चढ़ते हुए, उनको कई जवान लड़कियाँ मिलीं जो पानी भरने जाती थीं; उन्होंने उन से पूछा, “क्या ग़ैबबीन यहाँ है?”
12 And they answer them and say, “He is; behold, before you! Hurry, now, for he has come to the city today, for the people [have] a sacrifice today in a high place.
उन्होंने उनको जवाब दिया, “हाँ है, देखो वह तुम्हारे सामने ही है, इसलिए जल्दी करो क्यूँकि वह आज ही शहर में आया है, इसलिए कि आज के दिन ऊँचे मक़ाम में लोगों की तरफ़ से क़ुर्बानी होती है।
13 At your going into the city so you find him, before he goes up to the high place to eat; for the people do not eat until his coming, for he blesses the sacrifice; afterward, they who are called eat, and now, go up, for you should find him at this time.”
जैसे ही तुम शहर में दाख़िल होगे, वह तुमको पहले उससे कि वह ऊँचे मक़ाम में खाना खाने जाए मिलेगा, क्यूँकि जब तक वह न पहुँचे लोग खाना नहीं खायेंगे, इसलिए कि वह क़ुर्बानी को बरकत देता है, उसके बाद मेहमान खाते हैं, इसलिए अब तुम चढ़ जाओ, क्यूँकि इस वक़्त वह तुमको मिल जाएगा।”
14 And they go up to the city; they are coming into the midst of the city, and behold, Samuel is coming out to meet them, to go up to the high place;
इसलिए वह शहर को चले और शहर में दाख़िल होते ही देखा कि समुएल उनके सामने आ रहा है कि वह ऊँचे मक़ाम को जाए।
15 and YHWH had uncovered the ear of Samuel one day before the coming of Saul, saying,
और ख़ुदावन्द ने साऊल के आने से एक दिन पहले समुएल पर ज़ाहिर कर दिया था कि
16 “At this time tomorrow, I send to you a man out of the land of Benjamin—and you have anointed him for leader over My people Israel, and he has saved My people out of the hand of the Philistines; for I have seen My people, for its cry has come to Me.”
कल इसी वक़्त मैं एक शख़्स को बिन यमीन के मुल्क से तेरे पास भेजूँगा, तू उसे मसह करना ताकि वह मेरी क़ौम इस्राईल का सरदार हो, और वह मेरे लोगों को फ़िलिस्तियों के हाथ से बचाएगा, क्यूँकि मैंने अपने लोगों पर नज़र की है, इसलिए कि उनकी फ़रियाद मेरे पास पहुँची है।
17 When Samuel has seen Saul, then YHWH has answered him, “Behold, the man of whom I have spoken to you; this [one] restrains My people.”
इसलिए जब समुएल साऊल से मिला, तो ख़ुदावन्द ने उससे कहा, “देख यही वह शख़्स है जिसका ज़िक्र मैंने तुझ से किया था, यही मेरे लोगों पर हुकूमत करेगा।”
18 And Saul draws near to Samuel in the midst of the gate and says, “Please declare to me where this seer’s house [is].”
फिर साऊल ने फाटक पर समुएल के नज़दीक जाकर उससे कहा, “कि मुझको ज़रा बता दे कि ग़ैबबीन का घर कहा, है?”
19 And Samuel answers Saul and says, “I [am] the seer; go up before me into the high place, and you have eaten with me today, and I have sent you away in the morning, and all that [is] in your heart I declare to you.
समुएल ने साऊल को जवाब दिया कि वह ग़ैबबीन मैं ही हूँ; मेरे आगे आगे ऊँचे मक़ाम को जा, क्यूँकि तुम आज के दिन मेरे साथ खाना खाओगे और सुबह को मैं तुझे रुख़्सत करूँगा, और जो कुछ तेरे दिल में है सब तुझे बता दूँगा।
20 And as for the donkeys which are lost from you [for] three days as of today, do not set your heart to them, for they have been found; and to whom [is] all the desire of Israel? Is it not to you and to all your father’s house?”
और तेरे गधे जिनको खोए हुए तीन दिन हुए, उनका ख़्याल मत कर, क्यूँकि वह मिल गए और इस्राईलियों में जो कुछ दिलकश हैं वह किसके लिए हैं, क्या वह तेरे और तेरे बाप के सारे घराने के लिए नहीं?
21 And Saul answers and says, “Am I not a Benjamite—of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? And my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? And why have you spoken to me according to this word?”
साऊल ने जवाब दिया “क्या मैं बिन यमीनी, या'नी इस्राईल के सब से छोटे क़बीले का नहीं? और क्या मेरा घराना बिन यमीन के क़बीले के सब घरानों में सब से छोटा नहीं? इस लिए तू मुझ से ऐसी बातें क्यूँ कहता है?”
22 And Samuel takes Saul, and his young man, and brings them into the chamber, and gives a place to them at the head of those called; and they [are] about thirty men.
और समुएल साऊल और उसके नौकर को मेहमानख़ाने में लाया, और उनको मेहमानों के बीच जो कोई तीस आदमी थे सद्र जगह में बिठाया।
23 And Samuel says to the cook, “Give the portion which I gave to you, of which I said to you, Set it by you.”
और समुएल ने बावर्ची से कहा “कि वह टुकड़ा जो मैंने तुझे दिया, जिसके बारे में तुझ से कहा, था कि उसे अपने पास रख छोड़ना, लेआ।”
24 (And the cook lifts up the leg, and that which [is] on it, and sets [it] before Saul), and he says, “Behold, that which is left; [it] is set before your face—eat, for it is kept for you for this appointed time, [at my] saying, I have called the people”; and Saul eats with Samuel on that day.
बावर्ची ने वह रान म'अ उसके जो उसपर था, उठा कर साऊल के सामने रख दी, तब समुएल ने कहा, यह देख जो रख लिया गया था, उसे अपने सामने रख कर खा ले क्यूँकि वह इसी मु'अय्यन वक़्त के लिए, तेरे लिए रख्खी रही क्यूँकि मैंने कहा कि मैंने इन लोगों की दा'वत की है “इस लिए साऊल ने उस दिन समुएल के साथ खाना खाया।
25 And they come down from the high place to the city, and he speaks with Saul on the roof.
और जब वह ऊँचे मक़ाम से उतर कर शहर में आए तो उसने साऊल से उस के घर की छत पर बातें कीं
26 And they rise early, and it comes to pass, at the ascending of the dawn, that Samuel calls to Saul, on the roof, saying, “Rise, and I send you away”; and Saul rises, and they go out, both of them—he and Samuel, outside.
और वह सवेरे उठे, और ऐसा हुआ, कि जब दिन चढ़ने लगा, तो समुएल ने साऊल को फिर घर की छत पर बुलाकर उससे कहा, उठ कि मैं तुझे रुख़्सत करूँ।” इस लिए साऊल उठा, और वह और समुएल दोनों बाहर निकल गए।
27 They are going down in the extremity of the city, and Samuel has said to Saul, “Say to the young man that he should pass on before us (and he passes on), and you, stand at this time, and I cause you to hear the word of God.”
और शहर के सिरे के उतार पर चलते चलते समुएल ने साऊल से कहा कि अपने नौकर को हुक्म कर कि वह हम से आगे बढ़े, इसलिए वह आगे बढ़, गया, लेकिन तू अभी ठहरा रह ताकि मैं तुझे ख़ुदा की बात सुनाऊँ।
