Psalms 84
1 “To the chief musician upon Gittith, by the sons of Korach, a psalm.” How lovely are thy dwelling-places, O Lord of hosts!
Au maître de chant. Sur la Gitthienne. Psaume des fils de Coré. Que tes demeures sont aimables, Yahweh des armées!
2 My soul desired, yea, it also longed for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh shout with joy unto the living God.
Mon âme s'épuise en soupirant après les parvis de Yahweh; mon cœur et ma chair tressaillent vers le Dieu vivant.
3 Even as the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young: —[have I found] thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
Le passereau même trouve une demeure, et l'hirondelle un nid où elle repose ses petits: Tes autels, Yahweh des armées, mon roi et mon Dieu!
4 Happy are they who dwell in thy house: they will be continually praising thee. (Selah)
Heureux ceux qui habitent ta maison! Ils peuvent te louer encore. — Séla.
5 Happy is the man whose strong confidence is in thee, [all] whose heart reflecteth on the paths [of righteousness].
Heureux les hommes qui ont en toi leur force; ils ne pensent qu'aux saintes montées.
6 Passing through the valley of weeping, they will change it into a spring: also the early rain covereth it with blessings.
Lorsqu'ils traversent la vallée des Larmes ils la changent en un lieu plein de sources, et la pluie d'automne la couvre aussi de bénédictions.
7 They go from strength to strength, each of them appeareth before God in Zion.
Pendant la marche s'accroît la vigueur, et ils paraissent devant Dieu à Sion:
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
" Yahweh, Dieu des armées, disent-ils, écoute ma prière; prête l'oreille, Dieu de Jacob. " — Séla.
9 [Thou, ] our shield, behold, O God, and look upon the face of thy anointed.
Toi qui es notre bouclier, vois, ô Dieu, et regarde la face de ton Oint!
10 For better is a day in thy courts than a thousand [elsewhere]: I would rather choose to wait at the threshold of the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Car un jour dans tes parvis vaut mieux que mille; je préfère me tenir sur le seuil de la maison de mon Dieu, plutôt que d'habiter sous les tentes des méchants.
11 For a sun and shield is the Lord God; grace and glory will the Lord give; he will not withhold any good from those that walk with integrity.
Car Yahweh Dieu est un soleil et un bouclier; Yahweh donne la grâce et la gloire, il ne refuse aucun bien à ceux qui marchent dans l'innocence.
12 O Lord of hosts, happy is the man that trusteth in thee.
Yahweh des armées, heureux celui qui se confie en toi!
