Judges 9
1 And Abimelech the son of Yerubba'al went to Shechem unto his mother's brothers, and spoke unto them, and unto all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying,
| و ابیملک بن یربعل نزد برادران مادر خود به شکیم رفته، ایشان و تمامی قبیله خاندان پدر مادرش را خطاب کرده، گفت: | ۱ |
2 Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, What is better for you, either that there should rule over you seventy men, all the sons of Yerubba'al, or that there reign over you one man? and remember that I am your bone and your flesh.
| «الان درگوشهای جمیع اهل شکیم بگویید، برای شماکدام بهتر است؟ که هفتاد نفر یعنی همه پسران یربعل بر شما حکمرانی کنند؟ یا اینکه یک شخص بر شما حاکم باشد؟ و بیاد آورید که من استخوان و گوشت شما هستم.» | ۲ |
3 And his mother's brothers spoke concerning him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words; and their heart became inclined after Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother.
| و برادران مادرش درباره او در گوشهای جمیع اهل شکیم همه این سخنان را گفتند، و دل ایشان به پیروی ابیملک مایل شد، زیرا گفتند او برادر ماست. | ۳ |
4 And they gave him seventy pieces of silver out of the house of Ba'al-berith; and Abimelech hired therewith idle and heedless persons, who followed him.
| وهفتاد مثقال نقره از خانه بعل بریت به او دادند، وابیملک مردان مهمل و باطل را به آن اجیر کرد که او را پیروی نمودند. | ۴ |
5 And he came unto his father's house at 'Ophrah, and slew his brothers the sons of Yeruhba'al, seventy persons, upon one stone; and there was yet left Yotham the youngest son of Yerubba'al; for he had hidden himself.
| پس به خانه پدرش به عفره رفته، برادران خود پسران یربعل را که هفتاد نفربودند بر یک سنگ بکشت، لیکن یونام پسرکوچک یربعل زنده ماند، زیرا خود را پنهان کرده بود. | ۵ |
6 And all the men of Shechem and all Beth-millo assembled together, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the oak of the pillar that was by Shechem.
| و تمامی اهل شکیم و تمامی خاندان ملوجمع شده، رفتند، و ابیملک را نزد بلوط ستون که در شکیم است، پادشاه ساختند. | ۶ |
7 And they told it to Yotham; and he went and stood on the top of mount Gerizzim, and he lifted up his voice, and cried; and he said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, so that God may hearken unto you.
| و چون یوتام را از این خبر دادند، او رفته، به‌سر کوه جرزیم ایستاد و آواز خود را بلند کرده، ندا در‌داد و به ایشان گفت: «ای مردان شکیم مرابشنوید تا خدا شما را بشنود. | ۷ |
8 The trees went once forth to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive-tree, Reign thou over us.
| وقتی درختان رفتند تا بر خود پادشاهی نصب کنند، و به درخت زیتون گفتند بر ما سلطنت نما. | ۸ |
9 But the olive-tree said unto them, Should I give up my fatness, wherewith through me they honor God and men, and shall I go to be promoted over the trees!
| درخت زیتون به ایشان گفت: آیا روغن خود را که به‌سبب آن خداو انسان مرا محترم می‌دارند ترک کنم و رفته، بردرختان حکمرانی نمایم؟ | ۹ |
10 And the trees said to the fig-tree, Come thou, reign over us.
| و درختان به انجیرگفتند که تو بیا و بر ما سلطنت نما. | ۱۰ |
11 But the fig-tree said unto them, Should I give up my sweetness, and my good productiveness, and go to be promoted over the trees?
| انجیر به ایشان گفت: آیا شیرینی و میوه نیکوی خود راترک بکنم و رفته، بر درختان حکمرانی نمایم؟ | ۱۱ |
12 Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, reign over us.
| و درختان به مو گفتند که بیا و بر ما سلطنت نما. | ۱۲ |
13 But the vine said unto them, Should I give up my fresh wine, which rejoiceth God and men, and go to be promoted over the trees!
| مو به ایشان گفت: آیا شیره خود را که خدا وانسان را خوش می‌سازد ترک بکنم و رفته، بردرختان حکمرانی نمایم؟ | ۱۳ |
14 Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, reign over us.
| و جمیع درختان به خار گفتند که تو بیا و بر ما سلطنت نما. | ۱۴ |
15 And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me as king over you, then come seek protection in my shadow; and if not, then let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of the Lebanon.
| خار به درختان گفت: اگر به حقیقت شما مرا بر خود پادشاه نصب می‌کنید، پس بیایید و درسایه من پناه گیرید، و اگر نه آتش از خار بیرون بیاید و سروهای آزاد لبنان را بسوزاند. | ۱۵ |
16 And now, if ye have acted in truth and sincerity, when ye made Abimelech king, and if ye have dealt well with Yerubba'al and his house, and have done unto him according to the merit of his hands;
| و الان اگر براستی و صداقت عمل نمودید در اینکه ابیملک را پادشاه ساختید، و اگر به یربعل وخاندانش نیکویی کردید و برحسب عمل دستهایش رفتار نمودید. | ۱۶ |
17 (In that my father fought for you, and cast his life far away, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian;
| زیرا که پدر من به جهت شما جنگ کرده، جان خود را به خطرانداخت و شما را از دست مدیان رهانید. | ۱۷ |
18 While ye are risen up against my father's house this day, and have slain his sons, seventy men, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maid-servant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother; )
| وشما امروز بر خاندان پدرم برخاسته، پسرانش، یعنی هفتاد نفر را بر یک سنگ کشتید، و پسر کنیزاو ابیملک را چون برادر شما بود بر اهل شکیم پادشاه ساختید. | ۱۸ |
19 If ye have thus acted in truth and sincerity with Yerubba'al and with his house this day: then rejoice ye in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you.
| پس اگر امروز به راستی وصداقت با یربعل و خاندانش عمل نمودید، ازابیملک شاد باشید و او از شما شاد باشد. | ۱۹ |
20 But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem and Beth-millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from Beth-millo, and devour Abimelech.
| واگرنه آتش از ابیملک بیرون بیاید، و اهل شکیم وخاندان ملو را بسوزاند، و آتش از اهل شکیم وخاندان ملو بیرون بیاید و ابیملک را بسوزاند.» | ۲۰ |
21 And Yotham ran away, and fled, and went to Beer, and dwelt there, for fear of Abimelech his brother.
| پس یوتام فرار کرده، گریخت و به بئیر آمده، درآنجا از ترس برادرش، ابیملک، ساکن شد. | ۲۱ |
22 And Abimelech ruled over Israel three years;
| و ابیملک بر اسرائیل سه سال حکمرانی کرد. | ۲۲ |
23 And then did God send an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem became unfaithful toward Abimelech;
| و خدا روحی خبیث در میان ابیملک واهل شکیم فرستاد، و اهل شکیم با ابیملک خیانت ورزیدند. | ۲۳ |
24 So that the violence [done] to the seventy sons of Yerubba'al might come, and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, who had slain them; and upon the men of Shechem, who had strengthened his hands to slay his brothers.
| تا انتقام ظلمی که بر هفتاد پسریربعل شده بود، بشود، و خون آنها را از برادرایشان ابیملک که ایشان را کشته بود، و از اهل شکیم که دستهایش را برای کشتن برادران خودقوی ساخته بودند، گرفته شود. | ۲۴ |
25 And the men of Shechem set persons to lie in wait for him on the tops of the mountains, and they robbed all that passed by them on that way: and it was told unto Abimelech.
| پس اهل شکیم بر قله های کوهها برای او کمین گذاشتند، و هرکس را که از طرف ایشان در راه می‌گذشت، تاراج می‌کردند. پس ابیملک را خبر دادند. | ۲۵ |
26 And there came Ga'al the son of 'Ebed with his brothers, and passed through Shechem: and the men of Shechem put their confidence in him.
| و جعل بن عابد با برادرانش آمده، به شکیم رسیدند و اهل شکیم بر او اعتماد نمودند. | ۲۶ |
27 And they went out into the field, and gathered their vineyards, and trod [the grapes], and made joyful feasts, and went into the house of their god, and ate and drank, and cursed Abimelech.
| و به مزرعه‌ها بیرون رفته، موها را چیدند و انگور رافشرده، بزم نمودند، و به خانه خدای خود داخل شده، اکل و شرب کردند و ابیملک را لعنت نمودند. | ۲۷ |
28 And Ga'al the son of 'Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? is not he the son of Yerubba'al? and Zebul his superintendent? serve the men of Chamor the father of Shechem; for why indeed should we serve him?
| و جعل بن عابد گفت: «ابیملک کیست و شکیم کیست که او را بندگی نماییم؟ آیا او پسریربعل و زبول، وکیل او نیست؟ مردان حامور پدرشکیم را بندگی نمایید. ما چرا باید او را بندگی کنیم؟ | ۲۸ |
29 And O that some one would put this people into my power! and I would remove Abimelech. And he let it be said to Abimelech, Increase thy army, and come out.
| کاش که این قوم زیر دست من می‌بودندتا ابیملک را رفع می‌کردم، و به ابیملک گفت: لشکر خود را زیاد کن و بیرون بیا.» | ۲۹ |
30 And when Zebul the ruler of the city heard the words of Ga'al the son of 'Ebed, his anger was kindled.
| و چون زبول، رئیس شهر، سخن جعل بن عابد را شنید خشم او افروخته شد. | ۳۰ |
31 And he sent messengers unto Abimelech privately, saying, Behold, Ga'al the son of 'Ebed and his brothers are come to Shechem; and, behold, they incite the city to enmity against thee.
| پس به حیله قاصدان نزد ابیملک فرستاده، گفت: «اینک جعل بن عابد با برادرانش به شکیم آمده‌اند وایشان شهر را به ضد تو تحریک می‌کنند. | ۳۱ |
32 And now rise up by night, thou and the people that are with thee, and lie in wait in the field:
| پس الان در شب برخیز، تو و قومی که همراه توست، و در صحرا کمین کن. | ۳۲ |
33 And it shall be, in the morning, the moment the sun shineth, that thou shalt rise early, and set upon the city; and, behold, when he and the people that are with him come out against thee, then mayest thou do to him as thy means may let thee.
| و بامدادان در وقت طلوع آفتاب برخاسته، به شهر هجوم آور، و اینک چون او و کسانی که همراهش هستند بر تو بیرون آیند، آنچه در قوت توست، با او خواهی کرد.» | ۳۳ |
34 And Abimelech rose up, and all the people that were with him, by night, and they lay in wait against Shechem in four companies.
| پس ابیملک و همه کسانی که با وی بودند، در شب برخاسته، چهار دسته شده، در مقابل شکیم در کمین نشستند. | ۳۴ |
35 And Ga'al the son of 'Ebed went out, and stood in the entrance of the city-gate: and Abimelech rose up, and the people that were with him, from the ambush.
| و جعل بن عابد بیرون آمده، به دهنه دروازه شهر ایستاد، و ابیملک وکسانی که با وی بودند از کمینگاه برخاستند. | ۳۵ |
36 And when Ga'al saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, people are coming down from the tops of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, Thou regardest the shadow of the mountains as men.
| وچون جعل آن گروه را دید به زبول گفت: «اینک گروهی از سر کوهها به زیر می‌آیند.» زبول وی راگفت: «سایه کوهها را مثل مردم می‌بینی.» | ۳۶ |
37 And Ga'al spoke again and said, See people are coming down from the highest point of the land, and one company is coming along by the way of the grove of Me'onenim.
| باردیگر جعل متکلم شده، گفت: «اینک گروهی ازبلندی زمین به زیر می‌آیند و جمعی دیگر از راه بلوط معونیم می‌آیند.» | ۳۷ |
38 Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him! is not this the people that thou hast despised? go out now, I pray, and fight with them.
| زبول وی را گفت: «الان زبان تو کجاست که گفتی ابیملک کیست که او را بندگی نماییم؟ آیا این آن قوم نیست که حقیرشمردی؟ پس حال بیرون رفته، با ایشان جنگ کن.» | ۳۸ |
39 And Ga'al went out before the men of Shechem, and fought with Abimelech.
| و جعل پیش روی اهل شکیم بیرون شده، با ابیملک جنگ کرد. | ۳۹ |
40 And Abimelech pursued him, and he fled before him, and many fell slain, even as far as the entrance of the gate.
| و ابیملک او را منهزم ساخت که از حضور وی فرار کرد و بسیاری تادهنه دروازه مجروح افتادند. | ۴۰ |
41 And Abimelech remained at Arumah: and Zebul banished Ga'al and his brothers, that they should not remain in Shechem.
| و ابیملک درارومه ساکن شد، و زبول، جعل و برادرانش رابیرون کرد تا در شکیم نباشند. | ۴۱ |
42 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people went out into the field; and it was told to Abimelech.
| و در فردای آن روز واقع شد که مردم به صحرا بیرون رفتند، و ابیملک را خبر دادند. | ۴۲ |
43 And he took the people, and divided them into three companies, and lay in wait in the field; and as he saw, and, behold, that the people were coming forth out of the city, he rose up against them, and smote them.
| پس مردان خود را گرفته، ایشان را به سه فرقه تقسیم نمود، و در صحرا در کمین نشست، و نگاه کرد و اینک مردم از شهر بیرون می‌آیند، پس برایشان برخاسته، ایشان را شکست داد. | ۴۳ |
44 And Abimelech, and the companies that were with him, spread forward, and took position in the entrance of the city-gate: and the two other companies spread over all that were in the fields, and smote them.
| وابیملک با فرقه‌ای که با وی بودند حمله برده، دردهنه دروازه شهر ایستادند، و آن دو فرقه برکسانی که در صحرا بودند هجوم آوردند، و ایشان را شکست دادند. | ۴۴ |
45 And Ahimelech fought against the city all that day; and he captured the city, and the people that were therein he slew; and he beat down the city, and sowed it with salt.
| و ابیملک در تمامی آن روزبا شهر جنگ کرده، شهر را گرفت و مردم را که درآن بودند، کشت، و شهر را منهدم ساخته، نمک در آن کاشت. | ۴۵ |
46 And when all the men of the tower of Shechem heard this, they entered into the stronghold of the house of the god Berith.
| و چون همه مردان برج شکیم این راشنیدند، به قلعه بیت ئیل بریت داخل شدند. | ۴۶ |
47 And it was told unto Abimelech, that all the men of the tower of Shechem were gathered together.
| وبه ابیملک خبر دادند که همه مردان برج شکیم جمع شده‌اند. | ۴۷ |
48 And Abimelech went thereupon up to mount Zalmon, he and all the people that were with him; and Abimelech took an axe in his hand, and cut down a bough from a tree, and bore it, and laid it on his shoulder; and he said unto the people that were with him, What ye have seen that I have done, make haste, and do like me.
| آنگاه ابیملک با همه کسانی که باوی بودند به کوه صلمون برآمدند، و ابیملک تبری به‌دست گرفته، شاخه‌ای از درخت بریده، آن را گرفت و بر دوش خود نهاده، به کسانی که باوی بودند، گفت: «آنچه مرا دیدید که کردم تعجیل نموده، مثل من بکنید.» | ۴۸ |
49 And all the people also cut down every man his bough, and followed Abimelech, and put the same to the stronghold, and set the stronghold over them on fire: and thus died also all the people of the tower of Shechem, about a thousand men and women.
| و تمامی قوم، هر کس شاخه خود را بریده، در عقب ابیملک افتادند و آنها را به اطراف قلعه نهاده، قلعه را بر سرایشان به آتش سوزانیدند، به طوری که همه مردمان برج شکیم که تخمین هزار مرد و زن بودند، بمردند. | ۴۹ |
50 And Abimelech went then to Thebez, and encamped against Thebez, and captured it.
| و ابیملک به تاباص رفت و بر تاباص اردوزده، آن را گرفت. | ۵۰ |
51 But there was a strong tower within the city, and thither fled all the men and the women, and all the chief persons of the city, and shut the doors behind them, and went up to the roof of the tower.
| و در میان شهر برج محکمی بود و همه مردان و زنان و تمامی اهل شهر درآنجا فرار کردند، و درها را بر خود بسته، به پشت بام برج برآمدند. | ۵۱ |
52 And Abimelech came up to the tower, and fought against it, and approached as far as the door of the tower to burn it with fire.
| و ابیملک نزد برج آمده، با آن جنگ کرد، و به دروازه برج نزدیک شد تا آن را به آتش بسوزاند. | ۵۲ |
53 But a certain woman cast a piece of an upper millstone upon Abimelech's head, and crushed his skull.
| آنگاه زنی سنگ بالائین آسیایی گرفته، بر سر ابیملک انداخت و کاسه سرش را شکست. | ۵۳ |
54 Then called he hastily unto the young man that bore his armor, and said unto him, Draw thy sword, and slay me, that people may not say of me, A woman hath slain him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died.
| پس جوانی را که سلاحدارش بود به زودی صدا زده، وی را گفت: «شمشیر خود را کشیده، مرا بکش، مبادا درباره من بگویند زنی او را کشت.» پس غلامش شمشیررا به او فرو برد که مرد. | ۵۴ |
55 And when the men of Israel saw that Abimelech was dead, they departed every man to his place.
| و چون مردان اسرائیل دیدند که ابیملک مرده است، هر کس به مکان خود رفت. | ۵۵ |
56 Thus did God compensate the evil of Abimelech, which he had done unto his father, in slaying his seventy brothers:
| پس خدا شر ابیملک را که به پدرخود به کشتن هفتاد برادر خویش رسانیده بود، مکافات کرد. | ۵۶ |
57 And all the evil of the men of Shechem did God bring back upon their own head; and there came upon them the curse of Yotham the son of Yerubba'al.
| و خدا تمامی شر مردم شکیم رابر سر ایشان برگردانید، و لعنت یوتام بن یربعل برایشان رسید. | ۵۷ |
