1 Chronicles 23
1 And when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
Sendo pois David já velho, e cheio de dias, fez a Salomão seu filho rei sobre Israel.
2 And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
E ajuntou a todos os principes de Israel, como tambem aos sacerdotes e levitas.
3 And then were numbered the Levites from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, of men, was thirty and eight thousand.
E foram contados os levitas de trinta annos e d'ahi para cima: e foi o numero d'elles, segundo as suas cabeças, trinta e oito mil homens.
4 Of these were twenty and four thousand to superintend the work of the house of the Lord; and six thousand were officers and judges;
D'estes havia vinte e quatro mil, para promoverem a obra da casa do Senhor, e seis mil officiaes e juizes,
5 And four thousand were gatekeepers: and four thousand those who praised the Lord with the instruments which I have made, to praise therewith.
E quatro mil porteiros, e quatro mil para louvarem ao Senhor com os instrumentos, que eu fiz para o louvar, disse David.
6 And David divided them into divisions after the sons of Levi, after Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
E David os repartiu por turnos, segundo os filhos de Levi, Gerson, Kohath e Merari.
7 Of the Gershunites: La'dan, and Shim'i.
Dos gersonitas: Ladan e Simei.
8 The sons of La'dan: The chief was Jechiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
Os filhos de Ladan; Jehiel o chefe, e Zetham, e Joel, tres.
9 The sons of Shim'i: Shelomith, and Chaziel, and Haran, three. These were the chiefs of the families of La'dan.
Os filhos de Simei: Selomith, e Haziel, e Haran, tres: estes foram os chefes dos paes de Ladan.
10 And the sons of Shim'i were, Jachath, Zina, and Je'ush, and Beri'ah. These four were the sons of Shim'i.
E os filhos de Simei: Jahath, Ziza, e Jeus, e Berias: estes foram os filhos de Simei, quatro.
11 And Jachath was the chief, and Zizah the second; but Je'ush and Beri'ah had not many sons: therefore were they accounted as one family division in the numbering.
E Jahath era o chefe, e Ziza o segundo, mas Jeus e Berias não tiveram muitos filhos; pelo que foram contados em casa de seus paes por uma só familia.
12 The sons of Kehath: 'Amram, Yizhar, Hebron, and 'Uzziel, four.
Os filhos de Kohath: Amram, Ishar, Hebron, e Uziel, quatro.
13 The sons of 'Amram, Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was set apart, to sanctify him as most holy, he with his sons for ever, to burn incense before the Lord, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever.
Os filhos de Amram: Aarão e Moysés; e Aarão foi separado para sanctificar a sanctidade das sanctidades, elle e seus filhos, eternamente; para incensar diante do Senhor, para o servirem, e para darem a benção em seu nome eternamente.
14 But as regardeth Moses the man of God, his sons were named after the tribe of Levi.
E quanto a Moysés, homem de Deus, seus filhos foram contados entre a tribu de Levi.
15 The sons of Moses were, Gershom, and Eli'ezer.
Foram pois os filhos de Moysés, Gersom e Eliezer.
16 Of the sons of Gershom, Shebuel was the chief.
Dos filhos de Gersom foi Sebuel o chefe.
17 And the sons of Eli'ezer were, Rechahyah the chief. And Eli'ezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rechahyah became exceedingly numerous.
E quanto aos filhos de Eliezer, foi Rehabias o chefe: e Eliezer não teve outros filhos; porém os filhos de Rehabias se multiplicaram grandemente.
18 Of the sons of Yizhar, was Shelomith the chief.
Dos filhos de Ishar foi Selomith o chefe.
19 The sons of Hebron: Jeriyahu the chief, Amaryah the second, Jachaziel the third, and Jekam'am the fourth.
Quanto aos filhos de Hebron, foi Jerias o chefe, Amarias o segundo, Jahaziel o terceiro, e Jekamam o quarto.
20 The sons of 'Uzziel: Michah the chief, and Yishiyah the second.
Quanto aos filhos de Uziel, Micha o chefe, e Issias o segundo.
21 The sons of Merari: Machli, and Mushi. The sons of Machli: El'azar, and Kish.
Os filhos de Merari: Maheli e Musi; os filhos de Maheli: Eleazar e Kis.
22 And El'azar died, and had no sons, but daughters; and the sons of Kish, their brethren, took them [for wives].
E morreu Eleazar, e não teve filhos, porém filhas; e os filhos de Kis, seus irmãos, as tomaram por mulheres.
23 The sons of Mushi: Machli, and 'Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
Os filhos de Musi: Maheli, e Eder, e Jeremath, tres.
24 These were the sons of Levi after their family divisions, even the chiefs of the families, as they were counted by numbering the names after their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the Lord, from twenty years old and upward.
Estes são os filhos de Levi, segundo a casa de seus paes, chefes dos paes, segundo foram contados pelo numero dos nomes, segundo os seus chefes, que faziam a obra do ministerio da casa o Senhor, da edade de vinte annos e d'ahi para cima.
25 For David said, The Lord the God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, and he dwelleth in Jerusalem for evermore.
Porque disse David: O Senhor Deus de Israel deu repouso ao seu povo, e habitará em Jerusalem para sempre.
26 And also the Levites are no more bound to carry the tabernacle, and all its vessels for the service thereof.
E tambem, quanto aos levitas, que nunca mais levassem o tabernaculo, nem algum de seus apparelhos pertencentes ao seu ministerio.
27 Therefore by the last words of David were there numbered of the Levites those who were from twenty years old and above;
Porque, segundo as ultimas palavras de David, foram contados os filhos de Levi da edade de vinte annos e d'ahi para cima.
28 Because their station was to be at the side of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts, and in the chambers, and by the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
Porque o seu cargo era de estar ao mandado dos filhos de Aarão no ministerio da casa do Senhor, nos atrios, e nas camaras, e na purificação de todas as coisas sagradas, e na obra do ministerio da casa de Deus,
29 And for the shew-bread, which was put in rows, and for the fine flour for meat-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for that which is baked in the pan, and for that which is sodden, and for all manner of dry and wet measure;
A saber: para os pães da proposição, e para a flor de farinha, para a offerta de manjares, e para os coscorões asmos, e para as sartãs, e para o tostado, e para toda a medida e mensura;
30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and so also at evening,
E para estarem cada manhã em pé para louvarem e celebrarem ao Senhor; e similhantemente á tarde;
31 And at all the offering of burnt-offerings unto the Lord on the sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the appointed feasts, according to the number, and after the manner prescribed for them, continually before the Lord;
E para cada offerecimento dos holocaustos do Senhor, nos sabbados, nas luas novas, e nas solemnidades, por conta, segundo o seu costume, continuamente perante o Senhor:
32 And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the Lord.
E para que tivessem cuidado da guarda da tenda da congregação, e da guarda do sanctuario, e da guarda dos filhos de Aarão, seus irmãos, no ministerio da casa do Senhor.
