Psalms 4
1 For the End, a Song of David among [the ]Psalms. When I called upon [him], the God of my righteousness heard me: you have made room for me in tribulation; pity me, and listen to my prayer.
Для дириґе́нта хору. На струнних знаря́ддях. Псало́м Давидів. Коли кли́чу, — озвися до мене, Боже правди моєї, Ти про́стір для мене робив у тісноті́ … Помилуй мене, і почу́й молитву мою!
2 O you sons of men, how long [will you be] slow of heart? therefore do you love vanity, and seek falsehood? (Pause)
Лю́дські сини, — доки слава моя буде га́ньбитись? Доки будете марне любити, шукати неправди? (Се́ла)
3 But know you that the Lord has done wondrous things for his holy one: the Lord will hear me when I cry to him.
І знайте, що святого для Себе Господь відділив, почує Господь, як я кликати буду до Нього!
4 Be you angry, and sin not; feel compunction upon your beds for what you say in your hearts. (Pause)
Гнівайтеся, та не грішіть; на ложах своїх розмишляйте у ваших серця́х, та й мовчіть! (Села)
5 Offer the sacrifice of righteousness, and trust in the Lord.
Жертви правди прино́сьте, і наді́йтесь на Господа.
6 Many say, Who will show us good things? the light of your countenance, O Lord, has been manifested towards us.
Багато-хто кажуть: „Хто нам покаже добро́?“Підійми ж на нас, Господи, світло Свого лиця!
7 You have put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil.
Ти даєш більшу радість у серці моїм, ніж у них, як помно́жилося їхнє збіжжя та їхнє вино молоде.
8 I will both lie down in peace and sleep: for you, Lord, only have caused me to dwell securely.
У споко́ї я ляжу, і засну́, бо Ти, Господи, єдиний даєш мені жити безпе́чно!
