Leviticus 27
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
L’Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
2 Speak to the children of Israel, and you shall say to them, Whosoever shall vow a vow as the valuation of his soul for the Lord,
"Parle aux enfants d’Israël et dis-leur: Si quelqu’un promet expressément, par un vœu, la valeur estimative d’une personne à l’Éternel,
3 the valuation of a male from twenty years old to sixty years old shall be his valuation shall be fifty didrachmas of silver by the standard of the sanctuary.
appliquée à un homme de l’âge de vingt à soixante ans, cette valeur sera de cinquante sicles d’argent, au poids du sanctuaire;
4 And the valuation of a female shall be thirty didrachmas.
et s’il s’agit d’une femme, le taux sera de trente sicles.
5 And if it be from five years old to twenty, the valuation of a male shall be twenty didrachmas, and of a female ten didrachmas.
Depuis l’âge de cinq ans jusqu’à l’âge de vingt ans, le taux sera, pour le sexe masculin, de vingt sicles; pour le sexe féminin, de dix sicles.
6 And from a month old to five years old, the valuation of a male shall be five didrachmas, and of a female, three didrachmas of silver.
Depuis l’âge d’un mois jusqu’à l’âge de cinq ans, le taux d’un garçon sera de cinq sicles d’argent, et celui d’une fille, de trois sicles d’argent.
7 And if from sixty year [old] and upward, if it be a male, his valuation shall be fifteen didrachmas of silver, and if a female, ten didrachmas.
Depuis l’âge de soixante ans et au delà, si c’est un homme, le taux sera de quinze sicles et pour une femme il sera de dix sicles.
8 And if the man be too poor for the valuation, he shall stand before the priest; and the priest shall value him: according to what the man who has vowed can afford, the priest shall value him.
S’Il est impuissant à payer la taxe, il mettra la personne en présence du pontife, et celui-ci l’estimera: c’est d’après les moyens du donateur que le pontife fera l’estimation.
9 And if it be from the cattle that are offered as a gift to the Lord, whoever shall offer one of these to the Lord, it shall be holy.
Si c’est un animal dont on puisse faire une offrande à l’Éternel, tout ce qu’on aura voué à l’Éternel deviendra une chose sainte.
10 He shall not change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; and if he do at all change it, a beast for a beast, it and the substitute shall be holy.
On ne peut ni le changer ni le remplacer, bon, par un défectueux, défectueux, par un meilleur; si toutefois on avait remplacé cet animal par un autre, l’animal et son remplaçant seront également saints.
11 And if it be any unclean beast, of which none are offered as a gift to the Lord, he shall set the beast before the priest.
Si c’est quelque animal impur, dont on ne puisse faire offrande à l’Éternel, on amènera l’animal en présence du pontife:
12 And the priest shall make a valuation between the good and the bad, and accordingly as the priest shall value it, so shall it stand.
celui-ci l’estimera d’après ses qualités bonnes ou mauvaises; l’estimation du pontife fera loi.
13 And if [the worshipper] will at all redeem it, he shall add the fifth part to its value.
Si la personne veut ensuite le racheter, elle donnera un cinquième en sus de l’estimation.
14 And whatever man shall consecrate his house as holy to the Lord, the priest shall make a valuation of it between the good and the bad: as the priest shall value it, so shall it stand.
Si un homme a consacré sa maison, comme chose sainte, à l’Éternel, le pontife l’estimera selon ses avantages ou ses défauts; telle le pontife l’aura appréciée, telle elle sera acquise.
15 And if he that has sanctified it should redeem his house, he shall add to it the fifth part of the money of the valuation, and it shall be his.
Mais si le consécrateur veut racheter sa maison, il ajoutera un cinquième en sus du prix estimé, et elle sera à lui.
16 And if a man should hallow to the Lord a part of the field of his possession, then the valuation shall be according to its seed, fifty didrachmas of silver for a homer of barley.
Si un homme a consacré à l’Éternel une partie de sa terre patrimoniale, l’estimation s’en fera d’après la contenance en grains: la contenance d’un hômer d’orge valant cinquante sicles d’argent.
17 And if he should sanctify his field from the year of release, it shall stand according to his valuation.
Si donc il a consacré sa terre dès l’année du Jubilé, c’est à ce taux qu’elle sera acquise;
18 And if he should sanctify his field in the latter time after the release, the priest shall reckon to him the money for the remaining years, until the [next] year of release, and it shall be deducted as an equivalent from his full valuation.
s’il l’a consacrée postérieurement au Jubilé, le pontife en supputera le prix en raison des années à courir jusqu’à l’an jubilaire, et il sera fait une déduction sur le taux.
19 And if he that sanctified the field would redeem it, he shall add to its value the fifth part of the money, and it shall be his.
Que si celui-là même qui a consacré la terre veut la racheter, il paiera un cinquième en sus du prix estimé, et elle lui restera.
20 And if he do not redeem the field, but should sell the field to another man, he shall not after redeem it.
Mais s’il ne rachète point cette terre, ou qu’on l’ait vendue à quelque autre, elle ne pourra plus être rachetée;
21 But the field shall be holy to the Lord after the release, as separated land; the priest shall have possession of it.
de sorte que cette terre, devenant libre au Jubilé, se trouvera consacrée à l’Éternel comme une terre dévouée: c’est le pontife qui en aura la propriété.
22 And if he should consecrate to the Lord of a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession,
Si ce qu’il a consacré à l’Éternel est une terre achetée par lui, qui ne fasse point partie de son bien patrimonial,
23 the priest shall reckon to him the full valuation from the year of release, and he shall pay the valuation in that day [as] holy to the Lord.
le pontife supputera, à son égard, la portion du taux à payer jusqu’à l’an jubilaire, et l’on paiera ce taux, le jour même, comme chose consacrée à l’Éternel.
24 And in the year of release the land shall be restored to the man of whom the other bought it, whose the possession of the land was.
A l’époque du Jubilé, cette terre fera retour à celui de qui on l’avait achetée, qui la possédait comme fonds patrimonial.
25 And every valuation shall be by holy weights: the didrachm shall be twenty oboli.
Or, toute évaluation se fera d’après le sicle du sanctuaire, vingt ghêra formant un sicle.
26 And every firstborn which shall be produced among your cattle shall be the Lord's, and no man shall sanctify it: whether calf or sheep, it is the Lord's.
Quant au premier-né d’un animal, lequel appartient par sa naissance à l’Éternel, on ne pourra le consacrer: grosse ou menue bête, il est à l’Éternel.
27 But if he should redeem an unclean beast, according to its valuation, then he shall add the fifth part to it, and it shall be his; and if he redeem it not, it shall be sold according to its valuation.
S’Il s’agit d’un animal impur, on pourra le racheter au taux, ajoutant le cinquième en sus; s’il n’a pas été racheté, il sera vendu d’après le taux.
28 And every dedicated thing which a man shall dedicate to the Lord of all that he has, whether man or beast, or of the field of his possession, he shall not sell it, nor redeem it: every devoted thing shall be most holy to the Lord.
Mais toute chose dévouée, qu’un homme aurait dévouée à l’Éternel parmi ses propriétés, que ce soit une personne, une bête ou un champ patrimonial, elle ne pourra être ni vendue ni rachetée: toute chose dévouée devient une sainteté éminente réservée à l’Éternel.
29 And whatever shall be dedicated of men, shall not be ransomed, but shall be surely put to death.
Tout anathème qui aura été prononcé sur un homme est irrévocable: il faudra qu’il meure.
30 Every tithe of the land, both of the seed of the land, and of the fruit of trees, is the Lord's, holy to the Lord.
Toute dîme de la terre, prélevée sur la semence du sol ou sur le fruit des arbres, appartient à l’Éternel: elle lui est consacrée.
31 And if a man should at all redeem his tithe, he shall add the fifth part to it, and it shall be his.
Et si quelqu’un veut, racheter une partie de sa dîme, il y joindra le cinquième en sus.
32 And every tithe of oxen, and of sheep, and whatever may come in numbering under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the Lord.
Pour la dîme, quelle qu’elle soit, du gros et du menu bétail, de tous les animaux qui passeront sous la verge, le dixième sera consacré à l’Éternel.
33 You shall not change a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; and if you should at all change it, its equivalent also shall be holy, it shall not be redeemed.
On n’examinera point s’il est bon ou vicieux, et on ne le remplacera point; si toutefois on l’a remplacé, lui et son remplaçant seront également saints: il n’y aura point de rachat."
34 These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses for the sons of Israel in mount Sina.
Tels sont les commandements que l’Éternel donna à Moïse pour les enfants d’Israël, au mont Sinaï.
