Esias 51

1 Listen to me, you that follow after righteousness, and seek the Lord: look to the solid rock, which you have hewn, and to the hole of the pit which you have dug.

Höret mir zu, die ihr der Gerechtigkeit nachjaget, die ihr den HERRN suchet: Schauet den Fels an, davon ihr gehauen seid, und des Brunnens Gruft, daraus ihr gegraben seid.

2 Look to Abraam your father, and to Sarrha that bore you: for he was alone when I called him, and blessed him, and loved him, and multiplied him.

Schauet Abraham an, euren Vater, und Sara, von welcher ihr geboren seid. Denn ich rief ihm, da er noch einzeln war, und segnete ihn und mehrete ihn.

3 And now I will comfort you, O Sion: and I have comforted all her desert places; and I will make her desert places as a garden, and her western places as the garden of the Lord; they shall find in her gladness and exultation, thanksgiving and the voice of praise.

Denn der HERR tröstet Zion; er tröstet alle ihre Wüsten und macht ihre Wüsten wie Lustgärten und ihre Gefilde wie einen Garten des HERRN, daß man Wonne und Freude drinnen findet, Dank und Lobgesang.

4 Hear me, hear me, my people; and you kings, listen to me: for a law shall proceed from me, and my judgment [shall be] for a light of the nations.

Merke auf mich, mein Volk; höret mich, meine Leute! Denn von mir wird ein Gesetz ausgehen, und mein Recht will ich zum Licht der Völker gar bald stellen.

5 My righteousness speedily draws near, and my salvation shall go forth as light, and on mine arm shall the Gentiles trust: the isles shall wait for me, and on mine arm shall they trust.

Denn meine Gerechtigkeit ist nahe, mein Heil zeucht aus, und meine Arme werden die Völker richten. Die Inseln harren auf mich und warten auf meinen Arm.

6 Lift up your eyes to the sky, and look on the earth beneath: for the sky was darkened like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and the inhabitants shall die in like manner: but my righteousness shall not fail.

Hebet eure Augen auf gen Himmel und schauet unten auf die Erde! Denn der Himmel wird wie ein Rauch vergehen und die Erde wie ein Kleid veralten, und die darauf wohnen, werden dahinsterben im Nu! Aber mein Heil bleibet ewiglich, und meine Gerechtigkeit wird nicht verzagen.

7 Hear me, you that know judgment, the people in whose heart is my law: fear not the reproach of men, and be not overcome by their contempt.

Höret mir zu, die ihr die Gerechtigkeit kennet, du Volk, in welches Herzen mein Gesetz ist! Fürchtet euch nicht, wenn euch die Leute schmähen, und entsetzet euch nicht, wenn sie euch verzagt machen.

8 For as a garment will be devoured by time, and as wool will be devoured by a moth, [so shall they be consumed]; but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation for all generations.

Denn die Motten werden sie fressen wie ein Kleid, und Würmer werden sie fressen wie ein wollen Tuch; aber meine Gerechtigkeit bleibet ewiglich und mein Heil für und für.

9 Awake, awake, O Jerusalem, and put on the strength of your arm; awake as in the early time, as the ancient generation.

Wohlauf, wohlauf, zeuch Macht an, du Arm des HERRN! Wohlauf, wie vorzeiten, von alters her! Bist du nicht der, so die Stolzen ausgehauen und den Drachen verwundet hat?

10 Are you not it that dried the sea, the water, [even] the abundance of the deep; that made the depths of the sea a way of passage for the delivered and redeemed?

Bist du nicht, der das Meer der großen, tiefen Wasser austrocknete, der den Grund des Meers zum Wege machte, daß die Erlöseten dadurchgingen?

11 for by [the help of] the Lord they shall return, and come to Sion with joy and everlasting exultation, for praise and joy shall come upon their head: pain, and grief, and groaning, have fled away.

Also werden die Erlöseten des HERRN wiederkehren und gen Zion kommen mit Ruhm; und ewige Freude wird auf ihrem Haupte sein. Wonne und Freude werden sie ergreifen, aber Trauern und Seufzen wird von ihnen fliehen.

12 I, [even] I, am he that comforts you: consider who you are, that you were afraid of mortal man, and of the son of man, who are withered as grass.

Ich, ich bin euer Tröster. Wer bist du denn, daß du dich vor Menschen fürchtest, die doch sterben, und vor Menschenkindern, die als Heu verzehret werden,

13 And you have forgotten God who made you, who made the sky and founded the earth; and you were continually afraid because of the wrath of him that afflicted you: for [whereas] he counselled to take you away, yet now where is the wrath of him that afflicted you?

und vergissest des HERRN, der dich gemacht hat, der den Himmel ausbreitete und die Erde gründete? Du aber fürchtest dich täglich den ganzen Tag vor dem Grimm des Wüterichs, wenn er vornimmt zu verderben. Wo blieb der Grimm des Wüterichs,

14 For in your deliverance he shall not halt, nor wait;

da er mußte eilen und umherlaufen, daß er losgäbe, und sie nicht starben unter dem Verderben, auch keinen Mangel an Brot hatten?

15 for I am your God, that troubles the sea, and causes the waves thereof to roar: the Lord of hosts is my name.

Denn ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, der das Meer bewegt, daß seine Wellen wüten; sein Name heißt HERR Zebaoth.

16 I will put my words into your mouth, and I will shelter you under the shadow of mine hand, with which I fixed the sky, and founded the earth: and [the Lord] shall say to Sion, You are my people.

Ich lege mein Wort in deinen Mund und bedecke dich unter dem Schatten meiner Hände, auf daß ich den Himmel pflanze und die Erde gründe und zu Zion spreche: Du bist mein Volk.

17 Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, that have drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his fury: for you have drunk out and drained the cup of calamity, the cup of wrath:

Wache auf, wache auf, stehe auf, Jerusalem, die du von der Hand des HERRN den Kelch seines Grimms getrunken hast! Die Hefen des Taumelkelchs hast du ausgetrunken und die Tropfen geleckt.

18 and there was none to comfort you of all the children whom you bore; and there was none to take hold of your hand, not even of all the children whom you has reared.

Es war niemand aus allen Kindern, die sie geboren hat, der sie leitete, niemand aus allen Kindern, die sie erzogen hat, der sie bei der Hand nähme.

19 Therefore these things are against you; who shall sympathize with you in your grief? downfall, and destruction, famine, and sword: who shall comfort you?

Diese zwei sind dir begegnet; wer trug Leid mit dir? Da war Verstörung, Schaden, Hunger und Schwert; wer sollte dich trösten?

20 Your sons are the perplexed ones, that sleep at the top of every street as a half-boiled beet; they that are full of the anger of the Lord, caused to faint by the Lord God.

Deine Kinder waren verschmachtet; sie lagen auf allen Gassen wie ein verstrickter Hirsch, voll des Zorns vom HERRN und des Scheltens von deinem Gott.

21 Therefore hear, you afflicted one, and drunken, [but] not with wine;

Darum höre dies, du Elende und Trunkene ohne Wein!

22 thus says the Lord God that judges his people, Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of calamity, the cup of my wrath; and you shall not drink it any more.

So spricht dein HERRSCher, der HERR, und dein Gott, der sein Volk rächet: Siehe, ich nehme den Taumelkelch von deiner Hand samt den Hefen des Kelchs meines Grimms; du sollst ihn nicht mehr trinken,

23 And I will give it into the hands of them that injured you, and them that afflicted you; who said to your soul, Bow down, that we may pass over: and you did level your body with the ground to them passing by without.

sondern ich will ihn deinen Schindern in die Hand geben, die zu deiner Seele sprachen: Bücke dich, daß wir überhingehen, und lege deinen Rücken zur Erde und wie eine Gasse, daß man überhinlaufe!
