Ezra 8
1 And these [are] the heads of their families, the leaders that went up with me in the reign of Arthasastha the king of Babylon.
Et voici les chefs des pères et la généalogie de ceux qui montèrent avec moi de Babylone, sous le règne du roi Artaxerxès:
2 Of the sons of Phinees; Gerson: of the sons of Ithamar; Daniel: of the sons of David; Attus.

3 Of the sons of Sachania, and the sons of Phoros; Zacharias: and with him a company [of] a hundred and fifty.
des fils de Shecania, des fils de Parhosh, Zacharie, et avec lui, enregistrés par généalogies, les mâles, 150;
4 Of the sons of Phaath-Moab; Eliana the son of Saraia, and with him two hundred that were males.
des fils de Pakhath-Moab, Élioénaï, fils de Zerakhia, et avec lui 200 hommes;
5 And of the sons of Zathoes; Sechenias the son of Aziel, and with him three hundred males.

6 And of the sons of Adin; Obeth the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty males.
et des fils d’Adin, Ébed, fils de Jonathan, et avec lui 50 hommes;
7 And of the sons of Elam; Isaeas the son of Athelia, and with him seventy males.
et des fils d’Élam, Ésaïe, fils d’Athalia, et avec lui 70 hommes;
8 And of the sons of Saphatia; Zabadias the son of Michael, and with him eighty males.
et des fils de Shephatia, Zebadia, fils de Micaël, et avec lui 80 hommes;
9 And of the sons of Joab; Abadia the son of Jeiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen males.
[et] des fils de Joab, Abdias, fils de Jekhiel, et avec lui 218 hommes;
10 And of the sons of Baani; Selimuth the son of Josephia, and with him a hundred and sixty males.
et des fils de Shelomith, le fils de Josiphia, et avec lui 160 hommes;
11 And of the sons of Babi; Zacharias the son of Babi, and with him twenty-eight males.
et des fils de Bébaï, Zacharie, fils de Bébaï, et avec lui 28 hommes;
12 And of the sons of Asgad; Joanan the son of Accatan, and with him a hundred and ten males.
et des fils d’Azgad, Jokhanan, fils d’Hakkatan, et avec lui 110 hommes;
13 And of the sons of Adonicam [were the] last, and these [were] their names, Eliphalat, Jeel, and Samaea, and with them sixty males.
et des fils d’Adonikam, les derniers, et ce sont ici leurs noms: Éliphéleth, Jehiel, et Shemahia, et avec eux 60 hommes;
14 And of the sons of Baguae, Uthai, and Zabud, and with him seventy males.
et des fils de Bigvaï, Uthaï et Zabbud, et avec eux 70 hommes.
15 And I gathered them to the river that comes to Evi, and we encamped there three days: and I reviewed the people and the priests, and found none of the sons of Levi there.
Et je les rassemblai vers le fleuve qui s’en va vers Ahava, et nous avons campé là trois jours; et je considérai le peuple et les sacrificateurs, et je n’y trouvai aucun des fils de Lévi.
16 And I sent men of understanding to Eleazar, to Ariel, to Semeias, and to Alonam, and to Jarib, and to Elnatham, and to Nathan, and to Zacharias, and to Mesollam, and to Joarim, and to Elnathan.
Alors j’envoyai chercher Éliézer, Ariel, Shemahia, et Elnathan, et Jarib, et Elnathan, et Nathan, et Zacharie, et Meshullam, qui étaient des chefs, et Joïarib, et Elnathan, hommes intelligents;
17 And I forwarded them to the rulers with the money of the place, and I put words in their mouth to speak to their brethren the Athinim with the money of the place, that they should bring us singers for the house of our God.
et je les envoyai à Iddo, qui était chef dans la localité [appelée] Casiphia, et je mis dans leurs bouches des paroles pour les dire à Iddo [et] à ses frères, les Nethiniens, dans la localité [appelée] Casiphia, pour nous amener des serviteurs pour la maison de notre Dieu.
18 And they came to us, as the good hand of our God was upon us, even a man of understanding of the sons of Mooli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel, and at the commencement came his sons and his brethren, eighteen.
Et ils nous amenèrent, selon que la bonne main de notre Dieu était sur nous, un homme intelligent d’entre les fils de Makhli, fils de Lévi, fils d’Israël, et Shérébia et ses fils et ses frères, [au nombre de] 18;
19 And Asebia, and Isaia of the sons of Merari, his brethren and his sons, twenty.
et Hashabia, et avec lui Ésaïe, d’entre les fils de Merari, ses frères et leurs fils, [au nombre de] 20;
20 And of the Nathinim; whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites [there were] two hundred and twenty Nathinim; all were gathered by [their] names.
et des Nethiniens, que David et les princes avaient donnés pour le service des lévites, 220 Nethiniens, tous désignés par [leurs] noms.
21 And I proclaimed there a fast, at the river Aue, that [we] should humble ourselves before our God, to seek of him a straight way for us, and for our children, and for all our property.
Et là, près du fleuve Ahava, je publiai un jeûne, pour nous humilier devant notre Dieu, pour lui demander le vrai chemin, pour nous et pour nos enfants, et pour tout notre avoir.
22 For I was ashamed to ask of the king a guard and horsemen to save us from the enemy in the way: for we had spoken to the king, saying, The hand of our God [is] upon all that seek him, for good; but his power and his wrath [are] upon all that forsake him.
Car j’avais honte de demander au roi des forces et de la cavalerie pour nous aider en chemin contre l’ennemi; car nous avions parlé au roi, en disant: La main de notre Dieu est en bien sur tous ceux qui le cherchent; et sa force et sa colère sont contre tous ceux qui l’abandonnent.
23 So we fasted, and asked of our God concerning this; and he listened to us.
Et nous avons jeûné, et nous avons demandé cela à notre Dieu, et il nous exauça.
24 And I gave charge to twelve of the chiefs of the priests, to Saraia, to Asabia, and ten of their brethren with them.
Et je séparai douze des chefs des sacrificateurs, Shérébia, Hashabia, et dix de leurs frères avec eux,
25 And I weighed to them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of the first fruits of the house of our God, which the king, and his councillors, and his princes, and all Israel that were found, had dedicated.
et je leur pesai l’argent et l’or, et les ustensiles, l’offrande pour la maison de notre Dieu, qu’avaient offerte le roi, et ses conseillers, et ses princes, et tout Israël qui se trouvait là.
26 I even weighed into their hands six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and a hundred silver vessels, and a hundred talents of gold;
Et je pesai en leurs mains 650 talents d’argent, et en ustensiles d’argent 100 talents, [et] en or 100 talents,
27 and twenty golden bowls, [weighing] about a thousand drachmas, and superior vessels of fine shining brass, [precious] as gold.
et 20 coupes d’or valant 1 000 dariques, et deux vases d’airain d’un beau brillant, précieux comme l’or.
28 And I said to them, You [are] holy to the Lord; and the vessels [are] holy; and the silver and the gold are free will offerings to the Lord God of our fathers.
Et je leur dis: Vous êtes saints, [consacrés] à l’Éternel, et les ustensiles sont saints, et l’argent et l’or sont une offrande volontaire à l’Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères.
29 Be watchful and keep them, until you weigh [them] before the chief priests and the Levites, and the chiefs of families in Jerusalem, at the chambers of the house of the Lord.
Veillez, et gardez-les jusqu’à ce que vous les pesiez devant les chefs des sacrificateurs et des lévites, et devant les chefs des pères d’Israël à Jérusalem, dans les chambres de la maison de l’Éternel.
30 So the priests and the Levites took the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring to Jerusalem into the house of our God.
Et les sacrificateurs et les lévites reçurent au poids l’argent et l’or, et les ustensiles, pour les porter à Jérusalem, à la maison de notre Dieu.
31 And we departed from the river of Aue on the twelfth day of the first month, to come to Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and delivered us from the hand of the enemy and adversary in the way.
Et nous sommes partis du fleuve Ahava le douzième [jour] du premier mois, pour aller à Jérusalem. Et la main de notre Dieu fut sur nous, et il nous délivra de la main de l’ennemi et de [toute] embûche sur le chemin.
32 And we came to Jerusalem, and abode there three days.
Et nous sommes arrivés à Jérusalem, et nous sommes demeurés là trois jours.
33 And it came to pass on the fourth day that we weighed the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, in the house of our God, into the hand of Merimoth the son of Uria the priest; and with him [was] Eleazar the son of Phinees, and with them Jozabad the son of Jesus, and Noadia the son of Banaia, the Levites.
Et le quatrième jour, l’argent et l’or et les ustensiles furent pesés dans la maison de notre Dieu, entre les mains de Merémoth, fils d’Urie, le sacrificateur (et avec lui [était] Éléazar, fils de Phinées, et avec eux Jozabad, fils de Jéshua, et Noadia, fils de Binnuï, lévites),
34 All things [were reckoned] by number and weight, and the whole weight was written [down].
selon le nombre [et] selon le poids du tout; et en même temps tout le poids en fut inscrit.
35 At that time the children of the banishment that came from the captivity offered whole burnt offerings to the God of Israel, twelve calves for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, twelve goats for a sin-offering; all whole burnt offerings to the Lord.
Les fils de la transportation qui étaient revenus de la captivité présentèrent des holocaustes au Dieu d’Israël, douze taureaux pour tout Israël, 96 béliers, 77 agneaux, douze boucs en sacrifice pour le péché, le tout en holocauste à l’Éternel.
36 And they gave the king's mandate to the king's lieutenants, and the governors beyond the river: and they honored the people and the house of God.
Et ils remirent les édits du roi aux satrapes du roi et aux gouverneurs de ce côté du fleuve, et ceux-ci donnèrent leur appui au peuple et à la maison de Dieu.
