Chronicles II 8
1 And it came to pass after twenty years, in which Solomon built the house of the Lord, and his own house,
Njëzet vjet pasi Salomoni ndërtoi shtëpinë e Zotit dhe pallatin mbretëror të tij,
2 that Solomon rebuilt the cities which Chiram had given to Solomon, and caused the children of Israel to dwell in them.
Salomoni rindërtoi qytetet që Hirami i kishte dhënë Salomonit dhe bëri që të banojnë në to bijtë e Izraelit.
3 And Solomon came to Baesoba, and fortified it.
Salomoni marshoi pastaj kundër Hamath-Tsobahut dhe e pushtoi.
4 And he built Thoedmor in the wilderness, and all the strong cities which he built in Emath.
Përveç kësaj rindërtoi Tadmorin në shkretëtirë dhe të gjitha qytetet e furnizimit që kishte ndërtuar në Hamath.
5 And he built Baethoron the upper, and Baethoron the lower, strong cities, —they had walls, gates, and bars;
Rindërtoi Beth-Horonin e sipërm dhe Beth-Horonin e poshtëm, qytete të fortifikuara me mure, porta dhe shufra,
6 and Balaath, and all the strong cities which Solomon had, and all his chariot cities, and cities of horsemen, and all things that Solomon desired according to his desire of building, in Jerusalem, and in Libanus, and in all his kingdom.
si edhe Baalathin dhe tërë qytetet e furnizimit që i përkisnin Salomonit, të gjitha qytetet e qerreve, qytetet e kalorësisë, me një fjalë të gjitha ato që i pëlqyen të ndërtojë në Jeruzalem, në Liban dhe në tërë vendin që ndodhej nën sundimin e tij.
7 [As for] all the people that was left of the Chettites, and the Amorites, and the Pherezites, and the Evites, and the Jebusites, who are not of Israel,
Tërë njerëzit e mbetur nga Hitejtë, nga Amorejtë, nga Perezejtë, nga Hivejtë dhe nga Jebusejtë, që nuk ishin nga Izraeli,
8 but were of the children of them whom the children Israel destroyed not, that were left after them in the land, even them did Solomon make tributaries to this day.
(domethënë pasardhësit e tyre që kishin mbetur pas tyre në vend dhe që Izraelitët nuk kishin mundur t’i shkatërronin) Salomoni i rekrutoi për punë të detyrueshme deri ditën e sotme.
9 But Solomon did not make any of the children of Israel servants in his kingdom; for, behold, [they were] warriors and rulers, and mighty [men], and captains of chariots and horsemen.
Por nga bijtë e Izraelit Salomoni nuk përdori asnjë si shërbëtor për punimet e tij; këta ishin përkundrazi njerëzit e tij të luftës, krerët e udhëheqësve të tij dhe komandantët e qerreve dhe të kalorësisë së tij.
10 And these are the chiefs of the officers of king Solomon, two hundred and fifty overseeing the work among the people.
Shefat e nënpunësve të mbretit Salomon që kontrollonin popullin ishin dyqind e pesëdhjetë.
11 And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharao from the city of David to the house which he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the city of David, the king of Israel, for [the place] is holy into which the ark of the Lord has entered.
Por Salomoni bëri që vajza e Faraonit të ngjitej nga qyteti i Davidit në shtëpinë që kishte ndërtuar për të, sepse mendonte: “bashkëshortja ime nuk duhet të banojë në shtëpinë e Davidit, mbretit të Izraelit, sepse vendet ku ka hyrë arka e Zotit janë të shenjta”.
12 Then Solomon offered up to the Lord whole burnt offerings on the altar which he had built to the Lord before the temple,
Atëherë Salomoni i ofroi olokauste Zotit mbi altarin e Zotit, që ai kishte ndërtuar përpara portikut të tempullit;
13 according to the daily rate, to offer up [sacrifices] according to the commandments of Moses, on the sabbaths, and at the new moons, and at the feasts, three times in the year, at the feast of unleavened bread, and at the feast of weeks, and at the feast of tabernacles.
dhe e bënte këtë në bazë të numrit që kërkohej çdo ditë, duke i ofruar sipas urdhërimeve të Moisiut, të shtunave, kur kishte hënë të re dhe gjatë festave solemne, tri herë në vit, domethënë në festat e bukëve të ndorme, në festat e javëve dhe në festën e kasolleve.
14 And he established, according to the order of his father David, the courses of the priests, and [that] according to their public ministrations: and the Levites [were appointed] over their charges, to praise and minister before the priests according to the daily order: and the porters were appointed according to their courses to the different gates: for thus [were] the commandments of David the man of God.
Duke iu përmbajtur normave të Davidit, atit të tij, ai vendosi klasat e priftërinjve për shërbimin e tyre, Levitët në funksionet e tyre (të lëvdojnë Zotin dhe të shërbejnë para priftërinjve) sipas detyrave të përditshme, dhe derëtarët sipas klasave të tyre në çdo portë, sepse kështu kishte urdhëruar Davidi, njeriu i Perëndisë.
15 They transgressed not the commandments of the king concerning the priests and the Levites with regard to everything else, and with regard to the treasures.
Ata nuk u larguan nga urdhëri i mbretit, që u ishte dhënë priftërinjve dhe Levitëve, për çdo gjë dhe për thesaret.
16 Now all the work had been prepared from the day when the foundation was laid, until Solomon finished the house of the Lord.
Tërë puna e Salomonit ishte e organizuar mirë nga dita që u hodhën themelet e shtëpisë të Zotit deri sa kjo mbaroi. Kështu shtëpia e Zotit u përfundua.
17 Then Solomon went to Gasion Gaber, and to Aelath near the sea in the land of Idumea.
Atëherë mbreti Salomon shkoi në Etsion-Geber dhe në Elath mbi bregun e detit, në vendin e Edomit.
18 And Chiram sent by the hand of his servants ships, and servants skilled in naval affairs; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Sophira, and brought thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and they came to king Solomon.
Hirami me anë të shërbëtorëve të tij i dërgoi anije dhe shërbëtorë që njihnin detin. Këta shkuan me shërbëtorët e Salomonit në Ofir, morën aty katërqind e pesëdhjetë talenta ari dhe ia çuan mbretit Salomon.
