Chronicles II 2

1 And Solomon said that he would build a house to the name of the Lord, and a house for his kingdom.

Und Salomo gedachte zu bauen ein Haus dem Namen des HERRN und ein Haus seines Königreichs.

2 And Solomon gathered seventy thousand men that bore burdens, and eighty thousand hewers of stone in the mountain, and [there were] three thousand six hundred superintendents over them.

Und zählte ab siebenzigtausend Mann zur Last und achtzigtausend Zimmerleute auf dem Berge und dreitausend und sechshundert Amtleute über sie.

3 And Solomon sent to Chiram king of Tyre, saying, Whereas you did deal [favourably] with David my father, and did send him cedars to build for himself a house to dwell in,

Und Salomo sandte zu Huram, dem Könige zu Tyrus, und ließ ihm sagen: Wie du mit meinem Vater David tatest und ihm sandtest Zedern, daß er ihm ein Haus bauete, darinnen er wohnete;

4 behold, I also his son am building a house to the name of the Lord my God, to consecrate it to him, to burn incense before him, and [to offer] show bread continually, and to offer up whole burnt offerings continually morning and evening, and on the sabbaths, and at the new moons, and at the feasts of the Lord our God: this [is] a perpetual [statute] for Israel.

siehe, ich will dem Namen des HERRN, meines Gottes, ein Haus bauen, das ihm geheiliget werde, gut Räuchwerk vor ihm zu räuchern, und Schaubrote allewege zuzurichten und Brandopfer des Morgens und des Abends auf die Sabbate und Neumonden und auf die Feste des HERRN, unsers Gottes, ewiglich für Israel.

5 And the house which I am building [is to be] great: for the Lord our God [is] great beyond all gods.

Und das Haus, das ich bauen will, soll groß sein; denn unser Gott ist größer denn alle Götter.

6 And who will be able to build him a house? for the heaven and heaven of heavens do not bear his glory: and who am I, that I should build him a house, save only to burn incense before him?

Aber wer vermag's, daß er ihm ein Haus baue? Denn der Himmel und aller Himmel Himmel mögen ihn nicht versorgen; wer sollte ich denn sein, daß ich ihm ein Haus bauete? Sondern daß man vor ihm räuchere.

7 And now send me a man wise and skilled to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and in scarlet, and in blue, and one that knows how to grave together with the craftsmen who are with me in Juda and in Jerusalem, which materials my father David prepared.

So sende mir nun einen weisen Mann, zu arbeiten mit Gold, Silber, Erz, Eisen, Scharlaken, Rosinrot, gelber Seide und der da wisse auszugraben mit den Weisen, die bei mir sind in Juda und Jerusalem, welche mein Vater David geschickt hat.

8 And send me from Libanus cedar wood, and wood of juniper, and pine; for I know that your servants are skilled in cutting timber in Libanus: and, behold, your servants shall go with my servants,

Und sende mir Zedern, Tannen und Ebenholz vom Libanon; denn ich weiß, daß deine Knechte das Holz zu hauen wissen auf dem Libanon. Und siehe, meine Knechte sollen mit deinen Knechten sein,

9 to prepare timber for me in abundance: for the house which I am building [must be] great and glorious.

daß man mir viel Holz zubereite; denn das Haus, das ich bauen will, soll groß und sonderlich sein.

10 And, behold, I have given freely to your servants that work and cut the wood, corn for food, [even] twenty thousand measures of wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand measures of wine, and twenty thousand measures of oil.

Und siehe, ich will den Zimmerleuten, deinen Knechten, die das Holz hauen, zwanzigtausend Kor gestoßenen Weizen und zwanzigtausend Kor Gerste und zwanzigtausend Bath Weins und zwanzigtausend Bath Öls geben.

11 And Chiram king of Tyre answered in writing, and sent to Solomon, saying, Because the Lord loved his people, he made you king over them.

Da sprach Huram, der König zu Tyrus, durch Schrift, und sandte zu Salomo: Darum daß der HERR sein Volk liebet, hat er dich über sie zum Könige gemacht.

12 And Chiram said, Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, who has given to king David a wise son, and one endowed with knowledge and understanding, who shall build a house for the Lord, and a house for his kingdom.

Und Huram sprach weiter: Gelobet sei der HERR, der Gott Israels, der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat, daß er dem Könige David hat einen weisen, klugen und verständigen Sohn gegeben, der dem HERRN ein Haus baue und ein Haus seines Königreichs.

13 And now I have sent you a wise and understanding man [who belonged] to Chiram my father

So sende ich nun einen weisen Mann, der Verstand hat, Huram-Abif,

14 (his mother [was] of the daughters of Dan, and his father [was] a Tyrian), skilled to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in stones and wood; and to weave with purple, and blue, and fine linen, and scarlet; and to engrave, and to understand every device, whatever you shall give him [to do] with your craftsmen, and the craftsmen of my lord David your father.

der ein Sohn ist eines Weibes aus den Töchtern Dan, und sein Vater ein Tyrer gewesen ist, der weiß zu arbeiten an Gold, Silber, Erz, Eisen, Stein, Holz, Scharlaken, gelber Seide, Leinen, Rosinrot und zu graben allerlei und allerlei künstlich zu machen, was man ihm vorgibt, mit deinen Weisen und mit den Weisen meines HERRN Königs David, deines Vaters.

15 And now, the wheat, and the barley, and the oil, and the wine which my lord mentioned, let him send to his servants.

So sende nun mein HERR Weizen, Gerste, Öl und Wein seinen Knechten, wie er geredet hat,

16 And we will cut timber out of Libanus according to all your need, and we will bring it on rafts to the sea of Joppa, and you shall bring it to Jerusalem.

so wollen wir das Holz hauen auf dem Libanon, wieviel es not ist, und wollen es auf Flößen bringen im Meer gen Japho; von dannen magst du es hinauf gen Jerusalem bringen.

17 And Solomon gathered all the foreigners that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering with which David his father numbered them; and there were found a hundred and fifty-three thousand six hundred.

Und Salomo zählete alle Fremdlinge im Lande Israel nach der Zahl, da sie David, sein Vater, zählete; und wurden funden hundertundfünfzigtausend, dreitausend und sechshundert.

18 And he made of them seventy thousand burden-bearers, and eighty thousand hewers of stone, and three thousand six hundred taskmasters over the people.

Und er machte aus denselben siebenzigtausend Träger und achtzigtausend Hauer auf dem Berge und dreitausendsechshundert Aufseher, die das Volk zum Dienst anhielten.
