Kings III 8
1 And it came to pass when Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord and his own house after twenty years, then king Solomon assembled all the elders of Israel in Sion, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, this is Sion,
Da versammelte der König Salomo zu sich die Ältesten in Israel, alle Obersten der Stämme und Fürsten der Väter unter den Kindern Israel, gen Jerusalem, die Lade des Bundes des HERRN heraufzubringen aus der Stadt Davids, das ist Zion.
2 in the month of Athanin.
Und es versammelten sich zum Könige Salomo alle Männer in Israel im Monden Ethanim, am Fest, das ist der siebente Mond.
3 And the priests took up the ark,
Und da alle Ältesten Israels kamen, huben die Priester die Lade des HERRN auf.
4 and the tabernacle of testimony, and the holy furniture that was in the tabernacle of testimony.
Und brachten sie hinauf, dazu die Hütte des Stifts und alles Gerät des Heiligtums, das in der Hütte war. Das taten die Priester und Leviten.
5 And the king and all Israel [were occupied] before the ark, sacrificing sheep [and] oxen, without number.
Und der König Salomo und die ganze Gemeine Israels, die zu ihm sich versammelt hatte, gingen mit ihm vor der Lade her und opferten Schafe und Rinder, so viel, daß man's nicht zählen noch rechnen konnte.
6 And the priests bring in the ark into its place, into the oracle of the house, even into the holy of holies, under the wings of the cherubs.
Also brachten die Priester die Lade des Bundes des HERRN an ihren Ort, in den Chor des Hauses, in das Allerheiligste, unter die Flügel der Cherubim.
7 For the cherubs spread out their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubs covered the ark and its holy things above.
Denn die Cherubim breiteten die Flügel aus an dem Ort, da die Lade stund, und bedeckten die Lade und ihre Stangen von oben her.
8 And the holy staves projected, and the ends of the holy staves appeared out of the holy places in front of the oracle, and were not seen without.
Und die Stangen waren so lang, daß ihre Knäufe gesehen wurden in dem Heiligtum vor dem Chor, aber außen wurden sie nicht gesehen; und waren daselbst bis auf diesen Tag.
9 There was nothing in the ark except the two tables of stone, the tables of the covenant which Moses put [there] in Choreb, which [tables] the Lord made [as a covenant] with the children of Israel in their going forth from the land of Egypt.
Und war nichts in der Lade denn nur die zwo steinernen Tafeln Moses, die er daselbst ließ in Horeb, da der HERR mit den Kindern Israel einen Bund machte, da sie aus Ägyptenland gezogen waren.
10 And it came to pass when the priests departed out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house.
Da aber die Priester aus dem Heiligtum gingen, erfüllete eine Wolke das Haus des HERRN,
11 And the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, because the glory of the Lord filled the house.
daß die Priester nicht konnten stehen und Amts pflegen vor der Wolke. Denn die HERRLIchkeit des HERRN erfüllete das Haus des HERRN.
Da sprach Salomo: Der HERR hat geredet, er wolle im Dunkel wohnen.
Ich habe zwar ein Haus gebauet, dir zur Wohnung, einen Sitz, daß du ewiglich da wohnest.
14 And the king turned his face, and the king blessed all Israel, (and the whole assembly of Israel stood: )
Und der König wandte sein Angesicht und segnete die ganze Gemeine Israels; und die ganze Gemeine Israels stund.
15 and he said, Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel today, who spoke by his mouth concerning David my father, and has fulfilled it with his hands, saying,
Und er sprach: Gelobet sei der HERR, der Gott Israels, der durch seinen Mund meinem Vater David geredet und durch seine Hand erfüllet hat und gesagt:
16 From the day that I brought out my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city in [any] one tribe of Israel to build a house, so that my name should be there: but I chose Jerusalem that my name should be there, and I chose David to be over my people Israel.
Von dem Tage an, da ich mein Volk Israel aus Ägypten führete, habe ich nie keine Stadt erwählet unter irgend einem Stamm Israels, daß mir ein Haus gebauet würde, daß mein Name da wäre; David aber habe ich erwählet, daß er über mein Volk Israel sein sollte.
17 And it was in the heart of my father to build a house to the name of the Lord God of Israel.
Und mein Vater David hatte es zwar im Sinn, daß er ein Haus bauete dem Namen des HERRN, des Gottes Israels;
18 And the Lord said to David my father, Forasmuch as it came into your heart to build a house to my name, you did well that it came upon your heart.
aber der HERR sprach zu meinem Vater David: Daß du im Sinn hast, meinem Namen ein Haus zu bauen, hast du wohl getan, daß du solches vornahmest;
19 Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son that has proceeded out of your bowels, he shall build the house to my name.
doch du sollst nicht das Haus bauen, sondern dein Sohn, der aus deinen Lenden kommen wird, der soll meinem Namen ein Haus bauen.
20 And the Lord has confirmed the word that he spoke, and I am risen up in the place of my father David, and I have sat down on the throne of Israel, as the Lord spoke, and I have built the house to the name of the Lord God of Israel.
Und der HERR hat sein Wort bestätiget, das er geredet hat. Denn ich bin aufkommen an meines Vaters Davids Statt und sitze auf dem Stuhl Israels, wie der HERR geredet hat; und habe gebauet ein Haus dem Namen des HERRN, des Gottes Israels.
21 And I have set there a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of the Lord, which the Lord made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.
Und habe daselbst eine Stätte zugerichtet der Lade, darin der Bund des HERRN ist, den er gemacht hat mit unsern Vätern, da er sie aus Ägyptenland führete.
22 And Solomon stood up in front of the altar before all the congregation of Israel; and he spread out his hands toward heaven:
Und Salomo trat vor den Altar des HERRN gegen der ganzen Gemeine Israels und breitete seine Hände aus gen Himmel.
23 and he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above and on the earth beneath, keeping covenant and mercy with your servant who walks before you with all his heart;
Und sprach: HERR, Gott Israels, es ist kein Gott, weder droben im Himmel noch unten auf Erden, dir gleich, der du hältst den Bund und Barmherzigkeit deinen Knechten, die vor dir wandeln von ganzem Herzen:
24 which you have kept toward your servant David my father: for you have spoken by your mouth and you have fulfilled it with your hands, as [at] this day.
der du hast gehalten deinem Knechte, meinem Vater David, was du ihm geredet hast. Mit deinem Munde hast du es geredet und mit deiner Hand hast du es erfüllet, wie es stehet an diesem Tage.
25 And now, O Lord God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father, [the promises] which you have spoken to him, saying, There shall not be taken from you a man sitting before me on the throne of Israel, provided only your children shall take heed to their ways, to walk before me as you have walked before me.
Nun, HERR, Gott Israels, halte deinem Knechte, meinem Vater David, was du ihm geredet hast und gesagt: Es soll dir nicht gebrechen an einem Manne vor mir der da sitze auf dem Stuhl Israels, so doch, daß deine Kinder ihren Weg bewahren, daß sie vor mir wandeln, wie du vor mir gewandelt hast.
26 And now, O Lord God of Israel, let, I pray you, your word to David my father be confirmed.
Nun, Gott Israels, laß deine Worte wahr werden, die du deinem Knechte, meinem Vater David, geredet hast.
27 But will God indeed dwell with men upon the earth? if the heaven and heaven of heavens will not suffice you, how much less even this house which I have built to your name?
Denn meinest du auch, daß Gott auf Erden wohne? Siehe, der Himmel und aller Himmel Himmel mögen dich nicht versorgen. Wie sollte es denn dies Haus tun, das ich gebauet habe?
28 Yet, O Lord God of Israel, you shall look upon my petition, to hear the prayer which your servant prays to you in your presence this day,
Wende dich aber zum Gebet deines Knechts und zu seinem Flehen, HERR, mein Gott, auf daß du hörest das Lob und Gebet, das dein Knecht heute vor dir tut,
29 that your eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place which you said, My name shall be there, to hear the prayer which your servant prays at this place day and night.
daß deine Augen offen stehen über dies Haus Nacht und Tag, über die Stätte, davon du gesagt hast: Mein Name soll da sein. Du wollest hören das Gebet, das dein Knecht an dieser Stätte tut,
30 And you shall listen to the prayer of your servant, and of your people Israel, which they shall pray toward this place; and you shall hear in your dwelling-place in heaven, and you shall do and be gracious.
und wollest erhören das Flehen deines Knechts und deines Volks Israel, das sie hie tun werden an dieser Stätte deiner Wohnung, im Himmel, und wenn du es hörest, gnädig sein.
31 Whatsoever trespasses any [one] shall commit against his neighbor, —and if he shall take upon him an oath so that he should swear, and he shall come and make confession before your altar in this house,
Wenn jemand wider seinen Nächsten sündiget und nimmt des einen Eid auf sich, damit er sich verpflichtet, und der Eid kommt vor deinen Altar in diesem Hause,
32 then shall you hear from heaven, and do, and you shall judge your people Israel, that the wicked should be condemned, to recompense his way upon his head; and to justify the righteous, to give to him according to his righteousness.
so wollest du hören im Himmel und Recht schaffen deinen Knechten, den Gottlosen zu verdammen und seinen Weg auf seinen Kopf bringen und den Gerechten recht zu sprechen, ihm zu geben nach seiner Gerechtigkeit.
33 When your people Israel falls before enemies, because they shall sin against you, and they shall return and confess to your name, and they shall pray and supplicate in this house,
Wenn dein Volk Israel vor seinen Feinden geschlagen wird, weil sie an dir gesündiget haben, und bekehren sich zu dir, und bekennen deinen Namen und beten und flehen zu dir, in diesem Hause,
34 then shall you hear from heaven, and be gracious to the sins of your people Israel, and you shall restore them to the land which you gave to their fathers.
so wollest du hören im Himmel und der Sünde deines Volks Israel gnädig sein und sie wiederbringen ins Land, das du ihren Vätern gegeben hast.
35 When the heaven is restrained, and there is no rain, because they shall sin against you, and the shall pray toward this place, and they shall make confession to your name, and shall turn from their sins when you shall have humbled them,
Wenn der Himmel verschlossen wird, daß nicht regnet, weil sie an dir gesündiget haben, und werden beten an diesem Ort und deinen Namen bekennen und sich von ihren Sünden bekehren, weil du sie drängest,
36 then you shall hear from heaven, and be merciful to the sins of your servant and of your people Israel; for you shall show them the good way to walk in it, and you shall give rain upon the earth which you have given to your people for an inheritance.
so wollest du hören im Himmel und gnädig sein der Sünde deiner Knechte und deines Volks Israel, daß du ihnen den guten Weg weisest, darinnen sie wandeln, und lassest regnen auf das Land, das du deinem Volk zum Erbe gegeben hast.
37 If there should be famine, if there should be death, because there should be blasting, locust, or if there be mildew, and if their enemy oppress them in [any] one of their cities, [with regard to] every calamity, every trouble,
Wenn eine Teurung, oder Pestilenz, oder Dürre, oder Brand, oder Heuschrecken, oder Raupen im Lande sein werden, oder sein Feind im Lande seine Tore belagert, oder irgend eine Plage oder Krankheit:
38 every prayer, every supplication whatever shall be made by any man, as they shall know each the plague of his heart, and shall spread abroad his hands to this house,
wer dann bittet und flehet, es seien sonst Menschen oder dein Volk Israel, die da gewahr werden ihrer Plage, ein jeglicher in seinem Herzen, und breitet seine Hände aus zu diesem Hause,
39 then shall you listen from heaven, out of your established dwelling-place, and shall be merciful, and shall do, and recompense to [every] man according to his ways, as you shall know his heart, for you alone know the heart of all the children of men:
so wollest du hören im Himmel, in dem Sitz, da du wohnest, und gnädig sein und schaffen, daß du gebest einem jeglichen, wie er gewandelt hat, wie du sein Herz erkennest; denn du allein kennest das Herz aller Kinder der Menschen;
40 that they may fear you all the days that they live upon the land, which you have given to our fathers.
auf daß sie dich fürchten allezeit, solange sie auf dem Lande leben, das du unsern Vätern gegeben hast.
41 And for the stranger who is not of your people,
Wenn auch ein Fremder, der nicht deines Volks Israel ist, kommt aus fernem Lande um deines Namens willen
42 when they shall come and pray toward this place,
(denn sie werden hören von deinem großen Namen und von deiner mächtigen Hand und von deinem ausgereckten Arm), und kommt, daß er bete vor diesem Hause,
43 then shall you hear [them] from heaven, out of your established dwelling-place, and you shall do according to all that the stranger shall call upon you for, that all the nations may know your name, and fear you, as [do] your people Israel, and may know that your name has been called on this house which I have builded.
so wollest du hören im Himmel, im Sitz deiner Wohnung, und tun alles, darum der Fremde dich anruft, auf daß alle Völker auf Erden deinen Namen erkennen, daß sie auch dich fürchten, wie dein Volk Israel, und daß sie inne werden, wie dies Haus nach deinem Namen genannt sei, das ich gebauet habe.
44 [If it be] that your people shall go forth to war against their enemies in the way by which you shall turn them, and pray in the name of the Lord toward the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built to your name,
Wenn dein Volk auszeucht in Streit wider seine Feinde des Weges, den du sie senden wirst, und werden beten zum HERRN gegen den Weg zur Stadt, die du erwählet hast, und zum Hause, das ich deinem Namen gebauet habe,
45 then shall you hear from heaven their supplication and their prayer, and shall execute judgment for them.
so wollest du ihr Gebet und Flehen hören im Himmel und Recht schaffen.
46 [If it be] that they shall sin against you, (for there is not a man who will not sin, ) and you shall bring them and deliver them up before their enemies, and they that take [them] captive shall carry [them] to a land far or near,
Wenn sie an dir sündigen werden (denn es ist kein Mensch, der nicht sündiget), und du erzürnest und gibst sie vor ihren Feinden, daß sie sie gefangen führen in der Feinde Land, fern oder nahe,
47 and they shall turn their hearts in the land whither they have been carried captives, and turn in the land of their sojourning, and supplicate you, saying, We have sinned, we have done unjustly, we have transgressed,
und sie in ihr Herz schlagen im Lande, da sie gefangen sind, und bekehren sich und flehen dir im Lande ihres Gefängnisses und sprechen: Wir haben gesündiget und missetan und sind gottlos gewesen;
48 and they shall turn to you with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies whither you have carried them captives, and shall pray to you toward their land which you have given to their fathers, and the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built to your name:
und bekehren sich also zu dir von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele in ihrer Feinde Lande, die sie weggeführet haben, und beten zu dir gegen den Weg zu ihrem Lande, das du ihren Vätern gegeben hast, zur Stadt, die du erwählet hast, und zum Hause, das ich deinem Namen gebauet habe:
49 then shall you hear from heaven your established dwelling-place,
so wollest du ihr Gebet und Flehen hören im Himmel, vom Sitz deiner Wohnung, und Recht schaffen,
50 and you shall be merciful to their unrighteousness wherein they have trespassed against you, and according to all their transgressions wherewith they have transgressed against you, and you shall cause them to be pitied before them that carried them captives, and they shall have compassion on them:
und deinem Volk gnädig sein, das an dir gesündiget hat, und allen ihren Übertretungen, damit sie wider dich übertreten haben, und Barmherzigkeit geben vor denen, die sie gefangen halten, und dich ihrer erbarmen.
51 for [they are] your people and your inheritance, whom you brought out of the land of Egypt, out of the midst of the furnace of iron.
Denn sie sind dein Volk und dein Erbe, die du aus Ägypten, aus dem eisernen Ofen, geführet hast;
52 And let your eyes and your ears be opened to the supplication of your servant, and to the supplication of your people Israel, to listen to them in all things for which they shall call upon you.
daß deine Augen offen seien auf das Flehen deines Knechts und deines Volks Israel, daß du sie hörest in allem, darum sie dich anrufen.
53 Because you have set them apart for an inheritance to yourself out of all the nations of the earth, as you spoke by the hand of your servant Moses, when you brought our fathers out of the land of Egypt, O Lord God.
Denn du hast sie dir abgesondert zum Erbe aus allen Völkern auf Erden, wie du geredet hast durch Mose, deinen Knecht, da du unsere Väter aus Ägypten führetest, HERR, HERR!
54 And it came to pass when Solomon had finished praying to the Lord all this prayer and supplication, that he rose up from before the altar of the Lord, [after] having knelt upon his knees, and his hands [were] spread out towards heaven.
Und da Salomo all dies Gebet und Flehen hatte vor dem HERRN ausgebetet, stund er auf von dem Altar des HERRN und ließ ab von Knieen und Händeausbreiten gen Himmel.
55 And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,
Und trat dahin und segnete die ganze Gemeine Israels mit lauter Stimme und sprach:
56 Blessed [be] the Lord this day, who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he said: there has not failed one word among all his good words which he spoke by the hand of his servant Moses.
Gelobet sei der HERR, der seinem Volk Israel Ruhe gegeben hat, wie er geredet hat! Es ist nicht eins verfallen aus allen seinen guten Worten, die er geredet hat durch seinen Knecht Mose.
57 May the Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers; let him not desert us nor turn from us,
Der HERR, unser Gott, sei mit uns, wie er gewesen ist mit unsern Vätern! Er verlasse uns nicht und ziehe die Hand nicht ab von uns,
58 that he may turn our hearts toward him to walk in all his ways, and to keep all his commandments, and his ordinances which he commanded our fathers.
zu neigen unser Herz zu ihm, daß wir wandeln in allen seinen Wegen und halten seine Gebote, Sitten und Rechte, die er unsern Vätern geboten hat.
59 And let these words, which I have prayed before the Lord our God, [be] near to the Lord our God day and night, to maintain the cause of your servant, and the cause of your people Israel for ever.
Und diese Worte, die ich vor dem HERRN geflehet habe, müssen nahe kommen dem HERRN, unserm Gott, Tag und Nacht, daß er Recht schaffe seinem Knecht und seinem Volk Israel, ein jegliches zu seiner Zeit,
60 that all the nations of the earth may know that the Lord God, he [is] God, and there is none beside.
auf daß alle Völker auf Erden erkennen, daß der HERR Gott ist, und keiner mehr.
61 And let our hearts be perfect toward the Lord our God, to walk also holily in his ordinances, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
Und euer Herz sei rechtschaffen mit dem HERRN, unserm Gott, zu wandeln in seinen Sitten und zu halten seine Gebote, wie es heute gehet.
62 And the king and all the children of Israel offered sacrifice before the Lord.
Und der König samt dem ganzen Israel opferten vor dem HERRN Opfer.
63 And king Solomon offered for the sacrifices of peace-offering which he sacrificed to the Lord, two and twenty thousand oxen, and hundred and twenty thousand sheep: and the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.
Und Salomo opferte Dankopfer, die er dem HERRN opferte, zweiundzwanzigtausend Ochsen und hundertundzwanzigtausend Schafe. Also weiheten sie das Haus des HERRN ein, der König und alle Kinder Israel.
64 In that day the king consecrated the middle of the court in the front of the house of the Lord; for there he offered the whole burnt offering, and the sacrifices, and the fat of the peace-offerings, because the brazen altar which was before the Lord [was too] little to bear the whole burnt offering and the sacrifices of peace-offerings.
Desselbigen Tages weihete der König den Mittelhof, der vor dem Hause des HERRN war, damit, daß er Brandopfer, Speisopfer und das Fett der Dankopfer daselbst ausrichtete. Denn der eherne Altar, der vor dem HERRN stund, war zu klein zu dem Brandopfer; Speisopfer und zum Fetten der Dankopfer.
65 And Solomon kept the feast in that day, and all Israel with him, even a great assembly from the entering in of Hemath to the river of Egypt, before the Lord our God in the house which he built, eating and drinking, and rejoicing before the Lord our God seven days.
Und Salomo machte zu der Zeit ein Fest, und alles Israel mit ihm, eine große Versammlung, von der Grenze Hemaths an bis an den Bach Ägyptens, vor dem HERRN, unserm Gott, sieben Tage und aber sieben Tage; das waren vierzehn Tage.
66 And on the eighth day he sent away the people: and they blessed the king, and each departed to his tabernacle rejoicing, and [their] heart [was] glad because of the good things which the Lord had done to his servant David, and to Israel his people.
Und ließ das Volk des achten Tages gehen. Und sie segneten den König und gingen hin zu ihren Hütten fröhlich und guten Muts über all dem Guten, das der HERR an David, seinem Knecht, und an seinem Volk Israel getan hatte.
