Psalms 73
1 A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God [is] good to Israel, [even] to such as are of a clean heart.
बेशक ख़ुदा इस्राईल पर, या'नी पाक दिलों पर मेहरबान है।
2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
लेकिन मेरे पाँव तो फिसलने को थे, मेरे क़दम क़रीबन लग़ज़िश खा चुके थे।
3 For I was envious at the foolish, [when] I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
क्यूँकि जब मैं शरीरों की इक़बालमंदी देखता, तो मग़रूरों पर हसद करता था।
4 For [there are] no bands in their death: but their strength [is] firm.
इसलिए के उनकी मौत में दर्द नहीं, बल्कि उनकी ताक़त बनी रहती है।
5 They [are] not in trouble [as other] men; neither are they plagued like [other] men.
वह और आदमियों की तरह मुसीबत में नहीं पड़ते; न और लोगों की तरह उन पर आफ़त आती है।
6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them [as] a garment.
इसलिए गु़रूर उनके गले का हार है, जैसे वह ज़ुल्म से मुलब्बस हैं।
7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
उनकी आँखें चर्बी से उभरी हुई हैं, उनके दिल के ख़यालात हद से बढ़ गए हैं।
8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly [concerning] oppression: they speak loftily.
वह ठट्ठा मारते, और शरारत से जु़ल्म की बातें करते हैं; वह बड़ा बोल बोलते हैं।
9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
उनके मुँह आसमान पर हैं, और उनकी ज़बाने ज़मीन की सैर करती हैं।
10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full [cup] are wrung out to them.
इसलिए उसके लोग इस तरफ़ रुजू' होते हैं, और जी भर कर पीते हैं।
11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
वह कहते हैं, “ख़ुदा को कैसे मा'लूम है? क्या हक़ ता'ला को कुछ 'इल्म है?”
12 Behold, these [are] the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase [in] riches.
इन शरीरों को देखो, यह हमेशा चैन से रहते हुए दौलत बढ़ाते हैं।
13 Verily I have cleansed my heart [in] vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
यक़ीनन मैने बेकार अपने दिल को साफ़, और अपने हाथों को पाक किया;
14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.
क्यूँकि मुझ पर दिन भर आफ़त रहती है, और मैं हर सुबह तम्बीह पाता हूँ।
15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend [against] the generation of thy children.
अगर मैं कहता, कि यूँ कहूँगा; तो तेरे फ़र्ज़न्दों की नसल से बेवफ़ाई करता।
16 When I thought to know this, it [was] too painful for me;
जब मैं सोचने लगा कि इसे कैसे समझूँ, तो यह मेरी नज़र में दुश्वार था,
17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; [then] understood I their end.
जब तक कि मैंने ख़ुदा के मक़दिस में जाकर, उनके अंजाम को न सोचा।
18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.
यक़ीनन तू उनको फिसलनी जगहों में रखता है, और हलाकत की तरफ़ ढकेल देता है।
19 How are they [brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
वह दम भर में कैसे उजड़ गए! वह हादिसों से बिल्कुल फ़ना हो गए।
20 As a dream when [one] awaketh; [so], O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
जैसे जाग उठने वाला ख़्वाब को, वैसे ही तू ऐ ख़ुदावन्द, जाग कर उनकी सूरत को नाचीज़ जानेगा।
21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
क्यूँकि मेरा दिल रंजीदा हुआ, और मेरा जिगर छिद गया था;
22 So foolish [was] I, and ignorant: I was [as] a beast before thee.
मैं बे'अक्ल और जाहिल था, मैं तेरे सामने जानवर की तरह था।
23 Nevertheless I [am] continually with thee: thou hast holden [me] by my right hand.
तोभी मैं बराबर तेरे साथ हूँ। तूने मेरा दाहिना हाथ पकड़ रखा है।
24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me [to] glory.
तू अपनी मसलहत से मेरी रहनुमाई करेगा, और आख़िरकार मुझे जलाल में कु़बूल फ़रमाएगा।
25 Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? and [there is] none upon earth [that] I desire beside thee.
आसमान पर तेरे अलावा मेरा कौन है? और ज़मीन पर मैं तेरे अलावा किसी का मुश्ताक़ नहीं।
26 My flesh and my heart faileth: [but] God [is] the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
जैसे मेरा जिस्म और मेरा दिल ज़ाइल हो जाएँ, तोभी ख़ुदा हमेशा मेरे दिल की ताक़त और मेरा हिस्सा है।
27 For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.
क्यूँकि देख, वह जो तुझ से दूर हैं फ़ना हो जाएँगे; तूने उन सबको जिन्होंने तुझ से बेवफ़ाई की, हलाक कर दिया है।
28 But [it is] good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
लेकिन मेरे लिए यही भला है कि ख़ुदा की नज़दीकी हासिल करूँ; मैंने ख़ुदावन्द ख़ुदा को अपनी पनाहगाह बना लिया है ताकि तेरे सब कामों का बयान करूँ।
