Psalms 135

1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise [him], O ye servants of the LORD.

ALLELUIA. Lodate il Nome del Signore; Lodate[lo, voi] servitori del Signore;

2 Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,

Che state nella Casa del Signore, Ne' cortili della Casa del nostro Dio.

3 Praise the LORD; for the LORD [is] good: sing praises unto his name; for [it is] pleasant.

Lodate il Signore; perciocchè il Signore [è] buono; Salmeggiate al suo Nome, perciocchè [è] amabile.

4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, [and] Israel for his peculiar treasure.

Conciossiachè il Signore si abbia eletto Giacobbe [Ed] Israele per suo tesoro riposto.

5 For I know that the LORD [is] great, and [that] our Lord [is] above all gods.

Certo io conosco che il Signore [è] grande, E che il nostro Signore [è maggiore] di tutti gl'iddii.

6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, [that] did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

Il Signore fa tutto ciò che gli piace In cielo ed in terra; Ne' mari, ed [in] tutti gli abissi.

7 He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.

Egli fa salire i vapori dall'estremità dalle terra; Egli fa i lampi per la pioggia; Egli trae fuori il vento da' suoi tesori.

8 Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.

[Egli è quel] che percosse i primogeniti di Egitto, Così degli uomini, come degli animali.

9 [Who] sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

Che mandò segni e prodigi, in mezzo di te, o Egitto; Sopra Faraone, e sopra tutti i suoi servitori.

10 Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;

Che percosse nazioni grandi, Ed uccise re potenti;

11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:

Sihon, re degli Amorrei, E Og, re di Basan, E i re di tutti i regni di Canaan;

12 And gave their land [for] an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.

E diede i lor paesi per eredità, Per eredità ad Israele, suo popolo.

13 Thy name, O LORD, [endureth] for ever; [and] thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.

O Signore, il tuo Nome [è] in eterno; O Signore, la memoria di te [è] per ogni età.

14 For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.

Quando il Signore avrà fatti i suoi giudicii sopra il suo popolo, Egli si pentirà per amor de' suoi servitori.

15 The idols of the heathen [are] silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

Gl'idoli delle genti[sono] argento ed oro, Opera di mani d'uomini;

16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;

Hanno bocca, e non parlano; Hanno occhi, e non veggono;

17 They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there [any] breath in their mouths.

Hanno orecchi, e non odono; [Ed] anche non hanno fiato alcuno nella lor bocca.

18 They that make them are like unto them: [so is] every one that trusteth in them.

Simili ad essi sieno quelli che li fanno; Chiunque in essi si confida.

19 Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:

Casa d'Israele, benedite il Signore; Casa d'Aaronne, benedite il Signore.

20 Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.

Casa di Levi, benedite il Signore; [Voi] che temete il Signore, beneditelo.

21 Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.

Benedetto [sia] da Sion il Signore, Che abita in Gerusalemme. Alleluia.
