Matthew 18
1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
Εν εκείνη τη ώρα ήλθον οι μαθηταί προς τον Ιησούν, λέγοντες· Τις άρα είναι μεγαλήτερος εν τη βασιλεία των ουρανών;
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
Και προσκαλέσας ο Ιησούς παιδίον, έστησεν αυτό εν τω μέσω αυτών
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
και είπεν· Αληθώς σας λέγω, εάν δεν επιστρέψητε και γείνητε ως τα παιδία, δεν θέλετε εισέλθει εις την βασιλείαν των ουρανών.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Όστις λοιπόν ταπεινώση εαυτόν ως το παιδίον τούτο, ούτος είναι ο μεγαλήτερος εν τη βασιλεία των ουρανών.
5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
Και όστις δεχθή εν τοιούτον παιδίον εις το όνομά μου, εμέ δέχεται·
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
όστις όμως σκανδαλίση ένα των μικρών τούτων των πιστευόντων εις εμέ, συμφέρει εις αυτόν να κρεμασθή μύλου πέτρα επί τον τράχηλον αυτού και να καταποντισθή εις το πέλαγος της θαλάσσης.
7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
Ουαί εις τον κόσμον διά τα σκάνδαλα· διότι είναι ανάγκη να έλθωσι τα σκάνδαλα· πλην ουαί εις τον άνθρωπον εκείνον, διά του οποίου το σκάνδαλον έρχεται.
8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast [them] from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. (aiōnios g166)
Και εάν η χειρ σου ή ο πους σου σε σκανδαλίζη, έκκοψον αυτό και ρίψον από σού· καλήτερον σοι είναι να εισέλθης εις την ζωήν χωλός ή κουλλός, παρά έχων δύο χείρας ή δύο πόδας να ριφθής εις το πυρ το αιώνιον. (aiōnios g166)
9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. (Geenna g1067)
Και εάν ο οφθαλμός σου σε σκανδαλίζη, έκβαλε αυτόν και ρίψον από σού· καλήτερον σοι είναι μονόφθαλμος να εισέλθης εις την ζωήν, παρά έχων δύο οφθαλμούς να ριφθής εις την γέενναν του πυρός. (Geenna g1067)
10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
Προσέχετε μη καταφρονήσητε ένα των μικρών τούτων· διότι σας λέγω ότι οι άγγελοι αυτών εν τοις ουρανοίς διαπαντός βλέπουσι το πρόσωπον του Πατρός μου του εν ουρανοίς.
11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Επειδή ο Υιός του ανθρώπου ήλθε διά να σώση το απολωλός.
12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
Τι σας φαίνεται; εάν άνθρωπός τις έχη εκατόν πρόβατα και πλανηθή εν εξ αυτών, δεν αφίνει τα ενενήκοντα εννέα και υπάγων επί τα όρη, ζητεί το πλανώμενον;
13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that [sheep], than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
Και εάν συμβή να εύρη αυτό, αληθώς σας λέγω ότι χαίρει δι' αυτό μάλλον παρά διά τα ενενήκοντα εννέα τα μη πεπλανημένα.
14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
Ούτω δεν είναι θέλημα έμπροσθεν του Πατρός σας του εν ουρανοίς να απολεσθή εις των μικρών τούτων.
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
Εάν δε αμαρτήση εις σε ο αδελφός σου, ύπαγε και έλεγξον αυτόν μεταξύ σου και αυτού μόνου· εάν σου ακούση, εκέρδησας τον αδελφόν σου·
16 But if he will not hear [thee, then] take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
εάν όμως δεν ακούση, παράλαβε μετά σου έτι ένα ή δύο, διά να βεβαιωθή πας λόγος επί στόματος δύο μαρτύρων ή τριών.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell [it] unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
Και εάν παρακούση αυτών, ειπέ τούτο προς την εκκλησίαν· αλλ' εάν και της εκκλησίας παρακούση, ας είναι εις σε ως ο εθνικός και ο τελώνης.
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Αληθώς σας λέγω, Όσα εάν δέσητε επί της γης, θέλουσιν είσθαι δεδεμένα εν τω ουρανώ, και όσα εάν λύσητε επί της γης, θέλουσιν είσθαι λελυμένα εν τω ουρανώ.
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
Πάλιν σας λέγω ότι εάν δύο από σας συμφωνήσωσιν επί της γης περί παντός πράγματος, περί του οποίου ήθελον κάμει αίτησιν, θέλει γείνει εις αυτούς παρά του Πατρός μου του εν ουρανοίς.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Διότι όπου είναι δύο ή τρεις συνηγμένοι εις το όνομά μου, εκεί είμαι εγώ εν τω μέσω αυτών.
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Τότε προσελθών προς αυτόν ο Πέτρος, είπε· Κύριε, ποσάκις αν αμαρτήση εις εμέ ο αδελφός μου και θέλω συγχωρήσει αυτόν; έως επτάκις;
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Λέγει προς αυτόν ο Ιησούς· Δεν σοι λέγω έως επτάκις, αλλ' έως εβδομηκοντάκις επτά.
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
Διά τούτο η βασιλεία των ουρανών ωμοιώθη με άνθρωπον βασιλέα, όστις ηθέλησε να θεωρήση λογαριασμόν μετά των δούλων αυτού.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
Και ότε ήρχισε να θεωρή, εφέρθη προς αυτόν εις οφειλέτης μυρίων ταλάντων.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
Και επειδή δεν είχε να αποδώση, προσέταξεν ο κύριος αυτού να πωληθή αυτός και η γυνή αυτού και τα τέκνα και πάντα όσα είχε, και να αποδοθή το οφειλόμενον.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
Πεσών λοιπόν ο δούλος προσεκύνει αυτόν, λέγων· Κύριε, μακροθύμησον εις εμέ, και πάντα θέλω σοι αποδώσει.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
Σπλαγχνισθείς δε ο κύριος του δούλου εκείνου, απέλυσεν αυτόν και το δάνειον αφήκεν εις αυτόν.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
Αφού όμως εξήλθεν ο δούλος εκείνος, εύρεν ένα των συνδούλων αυτού, όστις εχρεώστει εις αυτόν εκατόν δηνάρια, και πιάσας αυτόν έπνιγε, λέγων· Απόδος μοι ό, τι χρεωστείς.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
Πεσών λοιπόν ο σύνδουλος αυτού εις τους πόδας αυτού, παρεκάλει αυτόν λέγων· Μακροθύμησον εις εμέ, και πάντα θέλω σοι αποδώσει.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
Εκείνος όμως δεν ήθελεν, αλλ' απελθών έβαλεν αυτόν εις φυλακήν, εωσού αποδώση το οφειλόμενον.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
Ιδόντες δε οι σύνδουλοι αυτού τα γενόμενα, ελυπήθησαν σφόδρα και ελθόντες εφανέρωσαν προς τον κύριον αυτών πάντα τα γενόμενα.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
Τότε προσκαλέσας αυτόν ο κύριος αυτού, λέγει προς αυτόν· Δούλε πονηρέ, παν το χρέος εκείνο σοι αφήκα, επειδή με παρεκάλεσας·
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
δεν έπρεπε και συ να ελεήσης τον σύνδουλόν σου, καθώς και εγώ σε ηλέησα;
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
Και οργισθείς ο κύριος αυτού παρέδωκεν αυτόν εις τους βασανιστάς, εωσού αποδώση παν το οφειλόμενον εις αυτόν.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
Ούτω και ο Πατήρ μου ο επουράνιος θέλει κάμει εις εσάς, εάν δεν συγχωρήσητε εκ καρδίας σας έκαστος εις τον αδελφόν αυτού τα πταίσματα αυτών.
