Mark 15
1 And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried [him] away, and delivered [him] to Pilate.
夜が明けるとすぐに、祭司長たちをはじめ、長老、律法学者たちと、全議会とは協議をこらしたすえ、イエスを縛って連れ出し、ピラトに引き渡した。
2 And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest [it].
ピラトはイエスに尋ねた。「あなたは、ユダヤ人の王ですか。」イエスは答えて言われた。「そのとおりです。」
3 And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.
そこで、祭司長たちはイエスをきびしく訴えた。
4 And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.
ピラトはもう一度イエスに尋ねて言った。「何も答えないのですか。見なさい。彼らはあんなにまであなたを訴えているのです。」
5 But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.
それでも、イエスは何もお答えにならなかった。それにはピラトも驚いた。
6 Now at [that] feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.
ところでピラトは、その祭りには、人々の願う囚人をひとりだけ赦免するのを例としていた。
7 And there was [one] named Barabbas, [which lay] bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.
たまたま、バラバという者がいて、暴動のとき人殺しをした暴徒たちといっしょに牢にはいっていた。
8 And the multitude crying aloud began to desire [him to do] as he had ever done unto them.
それで、群衆は進んで行って、いつものようにしてもらうことを、ピラトに要求し始めた。
9 But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
そこでピラトは、彼らに答えて、「このユダヤ人の王を釈放してくれというのか。」と言った。
10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.
ピラトは、祭司長たちが、ねたみからイエスを引き渡したことに、気づいていたからである。
11 But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.
しかし、祭司長たちは群衆を扇動して、むしろバラバを釈放してもらいたいと言わせた。
12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do [unto him] whom ye call the King of the Jews?
そこで、ピラトはもう一度答えて、「ではいったい、あなたがたがユダヤ人の王と呼んでいるあの人を、私にどうせよというのか。」と言った。
13 And they cried out again, Crucify him.
すると彼らはまたも「十字架につけろ。」と叫んだ。
14 Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.
だが、ピラトは彼らに、「あの人がどんな悪い事をしたというのか。」と言った。しかし、彼らはますます激しく「十字架につけろ。」と叫んだ。
15 And [so] Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged [him], to be crucified.
それで、ピラトは群衆のきげんをとろうと思い、バラバを釈放した。そして、イエスをむち打って後、十字架につけるようにと引き渡した。
16 And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Prætorium; and they call together the whole band.
兵士たちはイエスを、邸宅、すなわち総督官邸の中に連れて行き、全部隊を呼び集めた。
17 And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his [head],
そしてイエスに紫の衣を着せ、いばらの冠を編んでかぶらせ、
18 And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!
それから、「ユダヤ人の王さま。ばんざい。」と叫んであいさつをし始めた。
19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing [their] knees worshipped him.
また、葦の棒でイエスの頭をたたいたり、つばきをかけたり、ひざまずいて拝んだりしていた。
20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.
彼らはイエスを嘲弄したあげく、その紫の衣を脱がせて、もとの着物をイエスに着せた。それから、イエスを十字架につけるために連れ出した。
21 And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.
そこへ、アレキサンデルとルポスとの父で、シモンというクレネ人が、いなかから出て来て通りかかったので、彼らはイエスの十字架を、むりやりに彼に背負わせた。
22 And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.
そして、彼らはイエスをゴルゴタの場所（訳すと、「どくろ」の場所）へ連れて行った。
23 And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received [it] not.
そして彼らは、没薬を混ぜたぶどう酒をイエスに与えようとしたが、イエスはお飲みにならなかった。
24 And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.
それから、彼らは、イエスを十字架につけた。そして、だれが何を取るかをくじ引きで決めたうえで、イエスの着物を分けた。
25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
彼らがイエスを十字架につけたのは、午前九時であった。
26 And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
イエスの罪状書きには、「ユダヤ人の王。」と書いてあった。
27 And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.
また彼らは、イエスとともにふたりの強盗を、ひとりは右に、ひとりは左に、十字架につけた。
28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.
道を行く人々は、頭を振りながらイエスをののしって言った。「おお、神殿を打ちこわして三日で建てる人よ。
29 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest [it] in three days,
30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross.
十字架から降りて来て、自分を救ってみろ。」
31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.
また、祭司長たちも同じように、律法学者たちといっしょになって、イエスをあざけって言った。「他人は救ったが、自分は救えない。
32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
キリスト、イスラエルの王さま。たった今、十字架から降りてもらおうか。われわれは、それを見たら信じるから。」また、イエスといっしょに十字架につけられた者たちもイエスをののしった。
33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
さて、十二時になったとき、全地が暗くなって、午後三時まで続いた。
34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
そして、三時に、イエスは大声で、「エロイ、エロイ、ラマ、サバクタニ。」と叫ばれた。それは訳すと「わが神、わが神。どうしてわたしをお見捨てになったのですか。」という意味である。
35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard [it], said, Behold, he calleth Elias.
そばに立っていた幾人かが、これを聞いて、「そら、エリヤを呼んでいる。」と言った。
36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put [it] on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
すると、ひとりが走って行って、海綿に酸いぶどう酒を含ませ、それを葦の棒につけて、イエスに飲ませようとしながら言った。「エリヤがやって来て、彼を降ろすかどうか、私たちは見ることにしよう。」
37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
それから、イエスは大声をあげて息を引き取られた。
38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
神殿の幕が上から下まで真二つに裂けた。
39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
イエスの正面に立っていた百人隊長は、イエスがこのように息を引き取られたのを見て、「この方はまことに神の子であった。」と言った。
40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
また、遠くのほうから見ていた女たちもいた。その中にマグダラのマリヤと、小ヤコブとヨセの母マリヤと、またサロメもいた。
41 (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him; ) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.
イエスがガリラヤにおられたとき、いつもつき従って仕えていた女たちである。このほかにも、イエスといっしょにエルサレムに上って来た女たちがたくさんいた。
42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,
すっかり夕方になった。その日は備えの日、すなわち安息日の前日であったので、
43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.
アリマタヤのヨセフは、思い切ってピラトのところに行き、イエスのからだの下げ渡しを願った。ヨセフは有力な議員であり、みずからも神の国を待ち望んでいた人であった。
44 And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling [unto him] the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.
ピラトは、イエスがもう死んだのかと驚いて、百人隊長を呼び出し、イエスがすでに死んでしまったかどうかを問いただした。
45 And when he knew [it] of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
そして、百人隊長からそうと確かめてから、イエスのからだをヨセフに与えた。
46 And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.
そこで、ヨセフは亜麻布を買い、イエスを取り降ろしてその亜麻布に包み、岩を掘って造った墓に納めた。墓の入口には石をころがしかけておいた。
47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary [the mother] of Joses beheld where he was laid.
マグダラのマリヤとヨセの母マリヤとは、イエスの納められる所をよく見ていた。
