Luke 6
1 And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing [them] in [their] hands.
౧ఒక విశ్రాంతి దినాన ఆయన పంట చేలల్లోంచి వెళ్తూ ఉన్నాడు. ఆయన శిష్యులు కొన్ని కంకులు తెంపి చేతులతో నలుపుకుని తింటున్నారు.
2 And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
౨అప్పుడు పరిసయ్యుల్లో కొందరు, “విశ్రాంతి దినాన చేయకూడని పని మీరెందుకు చేస్తున్నారు” అని వారినడిగారు.
3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;
౩యేసు వారితో ఇలా అన్నాడు, “దావీదుకీ, అతనితో ఉన్నవారికీ ఆకలి వేసినప్పుడు దావీదు ఏం చేశాడో అది కూడా మీరు చదవలేదా?
4 How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
౪అతడు దేవుని మందిరంలో ప్రవేశించి, యాజకులు తప్ప ఇంకెవరూ తినకూడని సన్నిధి రొట్టెలు తీసుకుని తిని, తనతో ఉన్నవారికీ ఇచ్చాడు కదా!” అన్నాడు.
5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
౫ఇంకా ప్రభువు, “అయితే మనుష్య కుమారుడు విశ్రాంతి దినానికి యజమాని” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.
6 And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.
౬మరో విశ్రాంతి దినాన ఆయన సమాజ మందిరంలోకి వెళ్ళి ఉపదేశిస్తున్నాడు. అక్కడ కుడి చెయ్యి చచ్చుబడిపోయి బాధ పడుతున్నవాడు ఒకడు ఉన్నాడు.
7 And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
౭ధర్మశాస్త్ర పండితులూ, పరిసయ్యులూ విశ్రాంతి దినాన ఒకవేళ ఆయన ఎవరినైనా బాగు చేస్తే తప్పు పడదామని కనిపెడుతూ ఉన్నారు.
8 But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
౮వారి ఆలోచనలు ఆయన తెలుసుకుని, చచ్చుబడిన చెయ్యి గలవాడితో, “నువ్వు లేచి అందరి మధ్యలోకి వచ్చి నిలబడు” అన్నాడు. వాడు లేచి నిలబడ్డాడు.
9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy [it]?
౯అప్పుడు యేసు, “విశ్రాంతి దినాన మేలు చేయడం న్యాయమా? లేక కీడు చేయడం న్యాయమా? ప్రాణాన్ని రక్షించడం న్యాయమా? లేక హత్య చేయడం న్యాయమా? అని మిమ్మల్ని అడుగుతున్నాను” అని వారితో చెప్పి
10 And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
౧౦చుట్టూ ఉన్నవారందరినీ ఒక సారి చూసి, “నీ చెయ్యి చాపు” అని వాడితో చెప్పాడు. వాడు అలా చాపగానే వాడి చెయ్యి బాగుపడింది.
11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
౧౧అప్పుడు వారు వెర్రి కోపంతో నిండి పోయి యేసును ఏమి చేయాలా అని తమలో తాము చర్చించుకున్నారు.
12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
౧౨ఆ రోజుల్లో ఆయన ప్రార్థన చేయడానికి కొండకు వెళ్ళి దేవునికి ప్రార్థన చేయడంలో రాత్రంతా గడిపాడు.
13 And when it was day, he called [unto him] his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
౧౩ఉదయాన్నే ఆయన తన శిష్యులను పిలిచాడు. వారిలో పన్నెండు మందిని ఏర్పాటు చేసి వారికి అపొస్తలులు అని పేరు పెట్టాడు.
14 Simon, (whom he also named Peter, ) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,
౧౪వారు ఎవరంటే ఆయన పేతురు అని పిలిచిన సీమోను, అతని సోదరుడు అంద్రెయ, యాకోబు, యోహాను, ఫిలిప్పు, బర్తొలొమయి,
15 Matthew and Thomas, James the [son] of Alphæus, and Simon called Zelotes,
౧౫మత్తయి, తోమా, అల్ఫయి కుమారుడు యాకోబు, దేశభక్తుడు అని పిలిచే సీమోను,
16 And Judas [the brother] of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.
౧౬యాకోబు సోదరుడు యూదా, నమ్మక ద్రోహి ఇస్కరియోతు యూదా అనే వారు.
17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judæa and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
౧౭ఆయన వారితో బాటు కొండ దిగి వచ్చి మైదానంలో నిలిచినప్పుడు ఆయన శిష్యులు, ఇంకా ఇతర ప్రజలు పెద్ద గుంపుగా అక్కడ చేరి ఉన్నారు. వారంతా ఆయన సందేశం వినడానికీ, తమ రోగాలు బాగు చేసుకోడానికీ యూదయ దేశమంతటి నుండీ, యెరూషలేము నుండీ తూరు, సీదోను అనే పట్టణాల నుండీ, సముద్ర తీరాల నుండీ వచ్చారు. వారంతా బాగుపడ్డారు.
18 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
౧౮అలాగే అపవిత్రాత్మలు పట్టి పీడిస్తున్న వారు కూడా బాగయ్యారు.
19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed [them] all.
౧౯రోగాలను బాగుచేసే ప్రభావం ఆయనలో నుండి బయలుదేరి అందరినీ బాగుచేస్తూ ఉంది. కాబట్టి ప్రజలందరూ ఆయనను తాకాలని ప్రయత్నం చేశారు.
20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [be ye] poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
౨౦అప్పుడు ఆయన తన శిష్యుల వైపు తిరిగి వారిని తదేకంగా చూసి ఇలా అన్నాడు, “పేదలారా, మీరు ధన్యులు, దేవుని రాజ్యం మీది.
21 Blessed [are ye] that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are ye] that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
౨౧“ఇప్పుడు ఆకలితో ఉన్నవారలారా, మీరు ధన్యులు, మీకు తృప్తి కలుగుతుంది. “ఇప్పుడు ఏడుస్తున్న మీరు ధన్యులు, మీరు నవ్వుతారు.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and shall reproach [you], and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
౨౨“మనుష్యకుమారుడి కారణంగా మనుషులు మిమ్మల్ని ద్వేషించి, వెలివేసి, అవమానించి మీరు చెడ్డవారంటూ మీ పేరును తిరస్కరించినప్పుడు మీరు ధన్యులు.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward [is] great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
౨౩ఆ రోజు మీరు సంతోషించి గంతులు వేయండి. చూడండి, పరలోకంలో మీకు గొప్ప ప్రతిఫలం కలుగుతుంది. వారి పూర్వీకులు ప్రవక్తలకు అలాగే చేశారు.
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
౨౪“అయ్యో, ధనికులారా, మీకు యాతన. మీరు కోరిన ఆదరణ మీరు ఇప్పటికే పొందారు.
25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
౨౫అయ్యో, ఇప్పుడు కడుపు నిండి ఉన్న మీకు యాతన. మీకు ఆకలి వేస్తుంది. అయ్యో, ఇప్పుడు నవ్వుతున్న మీకు యాతన. మీరు దుఃఖించి ఏడుస్తారు.
26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
౨౬మనుషులంతా మిమ్మల్ని పొగుడుతూ ఉంటే మీకు యాతన. వారి పూర్వీకులు అబద్ధ ప్రవక్త లకు అలాగే చేశారు.
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
౨౭“వింటున్న మీతో నేను చెప్పేదేమిటంటే మీ శత్రువులను ప్రేమించండి. మిమ్మల్ని ద్వేషించే వారికి మేలు చేయండి.
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
౨౮మిమ్మల్ని శపించే వారిని దీవించండి. మిమ్మల్ని బాధించే వారి కోసం ప్రార్థించండి.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not [to take thy] coat also.
౨౯నిన్ను ఒక చెంప మీద కొట్టే వాడికి రెండవ చెంప కూడా చూపించు. నీ పైవస్త్రాన్ని తీసుకువెళ్ళే వాడు నీ అంగీని కూడా తీసుకోవాలంటే అడ్డుకోవద్దు.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask [them] not again.
౩౦అడిగే ప్రతివాడికీ ఇవ్వు. నీ వస్తువులను తీసుకున్న వాణ్ణి వాటి కోసం తిరిగి అడగవద్దు.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
౩౧మనుషులు మీకు ఏం చేయాలని మీరు కోరుకుంటారో అలాగే మీరు వారికి చేయండి.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
౩౨మిమ్మల్ని ప్రేమించే వారినే మీరు ప్రేమిస్తే అందులో గొప్పేముంది? పాపాత్ములు కూడా తమను ప్రేమించే వారిని ప్రేమిస్తారు కదా.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
౩౩మీకు మేలు చేసే వారికే మీరు మేలు చేస్తూ ఉంటే మీకేం మెప్పు కలుగుతుంది? పాపాత్ములు కూడా అలాగే చేస్తారు కదా!
34 And if ye lend [to them] of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
౩౪మీ అప్పు తిరిగి తీరుస్తారు అనుకున్న వారికే మీరు అప్పిస్తూ ఉంటే దాంట్లో మీకేం మెప్పు కలుగుతుంది? పాపాత్ములు కూడా మళ్లీ వసూలు చేసుకోవచ్చనుకుని పాపాత్ములకే అప్పులిస్తూ ఉంటారు కదా.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and [to] the evil.
౩౫మీరైతే మీ శత్రువులను ప్రేమించండి. వారికి మేలు చేయండి. తిరిగి చెల్లిస్తారని ఆశ లేకుండా అప్పు ఇవ్వండి. అప్పుడు మీ బహుమతి గొప్పగా ఉంటుంది. మీరు సర్వోన్నతుడైన దేవుని సంతానంగా ఉంటారు. ఆయన కృతజ్ఞత లేని వారి పట్లా, దుర్మార్గుల పట్లా దయాపరుడుగా ఉన్నాడు.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
౩౬మీ పరమ తండ్రి కనికరం చూపిస్తాడు కనుక మీరు కూడా కనికరం గలవారుగా ఉండండి.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
౩౭ఇతరులకు తీర్పు తీర్చవద్దు. అప్పుడు ఎవరూ మీకు తీర్పు తీర్చరు. ఎవరి మీదా నేరారోపణ చేయవద్దు. అప్పుడు ఎవరూ మీ మీద నేరం మోపరు. ఇతరులను క్షమించండి. అప్పుడు మీకు క్షమాపణ దొరుకుతుంది.
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
౩౮ఇవ్వండి. అప్పుడు మీకూ ఇస్తారు. అప్పుడు మనుషులు మీకు అదిమి, కుదించి పొంగి పొర్లి పోయేంతగా కొలిచి మీ ఒడిలో పోస్తారు. మీరు ఏ కొలతతో కొలుస్తారో అదే కొలతతో మీకూ కొలవడం జరుగుతుంది.”
39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
౩౯తరువాత ఆయన వారికి ఒక ఉపమానం చెప్పాడు, “ఒక గుడ్డివాడు మరో గుడ్డివాడికి దారి ఎలా చూపిస్తాడు? వారిద్దరూ గుంటలో పడరా?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
౪౦శిష్యుడు తన గురువు కంటే గొప్పవాడు కాడు. అయితే సంపూర్ణమైన శిక్షణ పొందినవాడు తన గురువులా ఉంటాడు.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
౪౧నువ్వు నీ కంట్లో ఉన్న దూలాన్ని పట్టించుకోకుండా నీ సోదరుడి కంట్లో నలుసును చూడడమెందుకు?
42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
౪౨నీ కంట్లో ఉన్న దూలాన్ని చూసుకోకుండా నీ సోదరుడితో, ‘సోదరా, నీ కంట్లో నలుసు తీసివేయనియ్యి’ అని నువ్వెలా చెప్పగలవు? వేషధారీ, మొదట నీ కంట్లో ఉన్న దూలాన్ని తీసివెయ్యి. అప్పుడు నీ సోదరుడి కంట్లో నలుసు తీసివేయడానికి నీకు స్పష్టంగా కనిపిస్తుంది.
43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
౪౩మంచి చెట్టుకు పనికిమాలిన కాయలు కాయవు. అలాగే పనికిమాలిన చెట్టుకు మంచి కాయలు కాయవు.
44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
౪౪ఏ చెట్టయినా దాని పండ్లను బట్టి తెలిసిపోతుంది. ముండ్లపొదలో అంజూరపు పండ్లు ఏరుకోరు. రక్కెస పొదలో ద్రాక్షపళ్ళు కోయరు.
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
౪౫మంచి మనిషి తన హృదయమనే ధననిధిలో నుండి మంచి విషయాలను బయటకు తెస్తాడు. చెడ్డవాడు తన చెడ్డ ధననిధిలో నుండి చెడ్డ విషయాలను బయటకు తెస్తాడు. హృదయం దేనితో నిండి ఉంటే దాన్నిబట్టే నోరు మాట్లాడుతుంది.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
౪౬నా సందేశం ప్రకారం చేయకుండా ఊరికే, ‘ప్రభూ, ప్రభూ’ అని నన్ను పిలవడం ఎందుకు?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
౪౭“నా దగ్గరికి వచ్చి, నా మాటలు విని వాటి ప్రకారం చేసే ప్రతివాడూ ఎవరిని పోలి ఉంటాడో వినండి.
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
౪౮వాడు ఇల్లు కట్టాలని లోతుగా తవ్వి బండ మీద పునాది వేసిన వాడిలాగా ఉంటాడు. వరదలు వచ్చి నీటి ప్రవాహం ఆ ఇంటిపై వేగంగా కొట్టినా దాన్ని బలంగా కట్టారు కనుక దాన్ని కదిలించలేక పోయింది.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
౪౯అయితే నా మాటలు విని వాటి ప్రకారం చేయనివాడు పునాది వేయకుండా నేల మీద ఇల్లు కట్టిన వాడిలా ఉంటాడు. ప్రవాహం దాని మీద వడిగా కొట్టగానే అది కూలి పోతుంది. ఆ ఇంటి నాశనం ఎంతో దయనీయం.”
