John 3
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
১ফরীশীদের মধ্যে নীকদীম নামে একজন মানুষ ছিলেন; তিনি একজন ইহূদি সভার নেতা।
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
২এই মানুষটি রাত্রিতে যীশুর কাছে এসে তাঁকে বললেন, রব্বি, আমরা জানি যে আপনি একজন গুরু এবং ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে এসেছেন; কারণ আপনি এই যে সব আশ্চর্য্য কাজ করছেন তা ঈশ্বর সঙ্গে না থাকলে কেউ করতে পারে না।
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
৩যীশু উত্তর দিয়ে তাকে বললেন, আমি তোমাদের সত্যি সত্যি বলছি, কারুর নতুন জন্ম না হওয়া পর্যন্ত সে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য দেখতে পারে না।
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
৪নীকদীম তাঁকে বললেন, মানুষ যখন বুড়ো হয় তখন কেমন করে তার আবার জন্ম হতে পারে? সে তো আবার মায়ের গর্ভে ফিরে গিয়ে দ্বিতীয়বার জন্ম নিতে পারে না, সে কি তা পারে?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
৫যীশু উত্তর দিলেন, আমি তোমাদের সত্যি সত্যি বলছি, যদি কেউ জল এবং আত্মা থেকে না জন্ম নেয় তবে সে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে প্রবেশ করতে পারে না।
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
৬যা মানুষ থেকে জন্ম নেয় তা মাংসিক এবং যা আত্মা থেকে জন্ম নেয় তা আত্মাই।
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
৭তোমাদের অবশ্যই নতুন জন্ম হতে হবে এই কথা আমি বললাম বলে তোমরা বিষ্মিত হয়ো না।
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
৮বাতাস যে দিকে ইচ্ছা করে সেই দিকে বয়ে চলে। তুমি শুধু তার শব্দ শুনতে পাও কিন্তু কোন দিক থেকে আসে অথবা কোন দিকে চলে যায় তা জান না; আত্মা থেকে যারা জন্ম নেয় প্রত্যেক জন সেই রকম।
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
৯নীকদীম উত্তর করে তাঁকে বললেন, এ সব কেমন ভাবে হতে পারে?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
১০যীশু তাঁকে উত্তর দিয়ে বললেন, তুমি একজন ইস্রায়েলের গুরু, আর তুমি এখনো এ সব বুঝতে পারছ না?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
১১সত্য, সত্যই, আমরা যা জানি তাই বলছি এবং যা দেখেছি তারই সাক্ষ্য দিই। আর তোমরা আমাদের সাক্ষ্য গ্রাহ্য কর না।
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you [of] heavenly things?
১২আমি যদি জাগতিক বিষয়ে তোমাদের বলি এবং তোমরা বিশ্বাস না কর, তবে যদি স্বর্গের বিষয়ে বলি তোমরা কেমন করে বিশ্বাস করবে?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven.
১৩আর স্বর্গে কেউ ওঠেনি শুধুমাত্র যিনি স্বর্গ থেকে নেমে এসেছিলেন তিনি ছাড়া, আর তিনি হলেন মনুষ্যপুত্র।
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
১৪আর মোশি যেমন মরূপ্রান্তে সেই সাপকে উঁচুতে তুলেছিলেন, ঠিক তেমনি মানবপুত্রকেও উঁচুতে অবশ্যই তুলতে হবে,
১৫সুতরাং যারা সবাই তাঁতে বিশ্বাস করবে তারা অনন্ত জীবন পাবে। (aiōnios g166)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
১৬কারণ ঈশ্বর জগতকে এত ভালবাসলেন যে, নিজের একমাত্র পুত্রকে দান করলেন, যেন যে কেউ তাঁতে বিশ্বাস করে সে বিনষ্ট না হয় কিন্তু অনন্ত জীবন পায়। (aiōnios g166)
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
১৭কারণ ঈশ্বর জগতকে দোষী প্রমাণ করতে পুত্রকে জগতে পাঠাননি কিন্তু জগত যেন তাঁর মাধ্যমে পরিত্রান পায়।
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
১৮যে তাঁতে বিশ্বাস করে তাকে দোষী করা হয় না। যে বিশ্বাস না করে তাকে দোষী বলে আগেই ঠিক করা হয়েছে কারণ সে অদ্বিতীয় ঈশ্বরের পুত্রের নামে বিশ্বাস করে নি।
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
১৯বিচারের কারণ হলো এই যে, পৃথিবীতে আলো এসেছে এবং মানুষেরা আলো থেকে অন্ধকার বেশি ভালবেসেছে, কারণ তাদের কর্মগুলি ছিল মন্দ।
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
২০কারণ প্রত্যেকে যারা মন্দ কাজ করে তারা আলোকে ঘৃণা করে এবং তাদের সব কর্ম্মের দোষ যাতে প্রকাশ না হয় তার জন্য তারা আলোর কাছে আসে না।
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
২১যদিও, যে সত্য কাজ করে সে আলোর কাছে আসে, যেন তার সব কাজ ঈশ্বরের ইচ্ছামত করা হয়েছে বলে প্রকাশ পায়।
22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judæa; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
২২তারপরে যীশু এবং তাঁর শিষ্যরা যিহূদিয়া দেশে গেলেন, আর তিনি সেখানে তাঁদের সঙ্গে থাকলেন এবং বাপ্তিষ্ম দিতে লাগলেন।
23 And John also was baptizing in Ænon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
২৩আর যোহনও শালীম দেশের কাছে ঐনোন নামে একটি জায়গায় বাপ্তিষ্ম দিচ্ছিলেন, কারণ সেই জায়গায় অনেক জল ছিল। আর মানুষেরা তাঁর কাছে আসতো এবং বাপ্তিষ্ম নিত।
24 For John was not yet cast into prison.
২৪কারণ তখনও যোহনকে জেলখানায় পাঠানো হয়নি।
25 Then there arose a question between [some] of John’s disciples and the Jews about purifying.
২৫তখন একজন ইহূদির সঙ্গে বিশুদ্ধ হওয়ার বিষয় নিয়ে যোহনের শিষ্যদের তর্ক বিতর্ক হল।
26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all [men] come to him.
২৬তারা যোহনের কাছে গিয়ে তাঁকে বলল রব্বি, যিনি যর্দ্দনের অপর পারে আপনার সঙ্গে ছিলেন এবং যাঁর সমন্ধে আপনি সাক্ষ্য দিয়েছিলেন, দেখুন তিনি বাপ্তিষ্ম দিচ্ছেন এবং সবাই তাঁর কাছে যাচ্ছে।
27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
২৭যোহন উত্তর দিয়ে বললেন, স্বর্গ থেকে যতক্ষণ না মানুষকে কিছু দেওয়া হয়েছে ততক্ষণ তা ছাড়া সে আর কিছুই পেতে পারে না।
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
২৮তোমরা নিজেরাই আমার সাক্ষী যে, আমি বলেছি আমি সেই খ্রীষ্ট নই, কিন্তু আমি বলেছি তাঁর আগে আমাকে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
২৯যার কাছে কনে আছে সেই বর; কিন্তু বরের বন্ধু যে দাঁড়িয়ে বরের কথা শুনে, সে তাঁর গলার আওয়াজ শুনে খুব আনন্দিত হয়; ঠিক সেইভাবে আমার এই আনন্দ পূর্ণ হল।
30 He must increase, but I [must] decrease.
৩০তিনি অবশ্যই বড় হবেন, আমি অবশ্যই ছোট হব।
31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
৩১যিনি উপর থেকে আসেন, তিনি সব কিছুর প্রধান; যে পৃথিবী থেকে আসেন সে পৃথিবীর এবং সে পৃথিবীর জিনিষেরই কথাই বলে; যিনি স্বর্গ থেকে আসেন, তিনি সব কিছুর প্রধান।
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
৩২তিনি যা কিছু দেখেছেন ও শুনেছেন, তারই সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছেন, আর তাঁর সাক্ষ্য কেউ গ্রহণ করে না।
33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
৩৩যে তাঁর সাক্ষ্য গ্রহণ করেছে, সে নিশ্চিত করেছে যে ঈশ্বর সত্য।
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure [unto him].
৩৪কারণ ঈশ্বর যাকে পাঠিয়েছেন তিনি ঈশ্বরের বাক্য বলেন; কারণ ঈশ্বর আত্মা মেপে দেন না।
35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
৩৫পিতা পুত্রকে ভালবাসেন এবং সব কিছুই তাঁর হাতে দিয়েছেন।
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (aiōnios g166)
৩৬যে কেউ পুত্রের ওপর বিশ্বাস করেছে, সে অনন্ত জীবন পেয়েছে; কিন্তু যে কেউ পুত্রকে না মেনে চলে সে জীবন দেখতে পাবে না কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের ক্রোধ তার উপরে থাকবে। (aiōnios g166)
